Princess Zhaoyang said: "The State of Southern Chu pays tribute every year and requests the State of Qing to preserve the courtyard where Princess Taihua lived during her lifetime. This Qiuliang Palace has been preserved, and every year envoys from Southern Chu come to clean the gate."
The carriage has already left Qiuliang Palace.
As the wind blows, the green leaves on the branches of the century-old albizzia tree sway in the wind, and pink albizzia flowers bloom in the midsummer.
The weeds in front of the yard grow in the wind, but the old friends are no longer here.
The carriage drove to the end of the palace road. You can no longer take a carriage near Kunning Palace. Zhaoyang and Shen Wei got off the carriage and walked into Kunning Palace under the guidance of the palace maids.
The Queen has not returned yet.
The Queen and the Emperor were still receiving the envoys from Southern Chu, and the ceremony had not yet ended. The maids in Kunning Palace respectfully served her tea. Shen Wei drank half a cup of tea and went to see her daughter who was sleeping soundly in her cradle.
The Kunning Palace was quiet and peaceful, and the palace maids and eunuchs moved very quietly. The sun was shining brightly, and Shen Wei glanced at the palace servants who were busy working. They seemed like machines moving without any human touch.
About half an hour later, a voice of greetings was heard outside Kunning Palace.
The queen is back.
The Queen was dressed in her best today, wearing a court gown embroidered with golden phoenixes and a heavy crown on her head. There was fatigue in her eyes. She raised her hand to avoid Shen Wei and Zhao Yang's greetings and went back to the bedroom to remove her makeup and change clothes.
After changing into her casual clothes, the queen walked back to the main house. Two palace maids massaged the queen's shoulders. The queen placed her fingers on her forehead and smiled lovingly at Zhaoyang: "Nan Chu paid tribute to us with ten boxes of Luodai, and your majesty gave me six boxes. Zhaoyang, your mother will give you three boxes."
Zhaoyang was overjoyed, and he came over and hugged the queen's arm affectionately: "Thank you, mother. You love me the most."
The queen smiled and said, "You are so grown up, yet you are still acting like a spoiled child to your mother. Your father still has a Nanchu inkstone, which is much more precious than the inkstone."
Zhao Yang's eyes lit up, and he said hurriedly, "Mother, I will go to pay my respects to my father and come back to accompany you later."
She had been coveting Nan Chu Mo Yan for many days. She ran out of Kunning Palace holding her skirt and happily went to the emperor to ask for the gift.
After Zhaoyang left, Shen Wei was left sitting alone in the main room of Kunning Palace. Shen Wei's mind raced, thinking about how to ask the Queen for help and ask her to solve the princess's problem.
The queen put down the teacup and smiled kindly: "Young and beautiful people are suitable for using spiral ink to draw eyebrows. Madam Qian, give the remaining three boxes of spiral ink to Shen."
Shen Wei's pupils suddenly dilated, and a trace of disbelief flashed through her heart. The queen gave three boxes of such precious Luodai to her own daughter and three boxes to Chen Wei!
This means that the queen values Shen Wei very much.
Chen Wei hurriedly stood up and politely declined: "Thank you Queen for the reward, but this Luodai is precious, I dare not..."
The queen said with a pleasant face: "You are Yuan Jing's concubine, and you are also my daughter-in-law. You can call me mother."
Shen Wei opened her mouth, but didn't dare to shout out for a long time.
The Queen smiled and said, "Yuan Jing has assisted the Crown Prince in handling state affairs. You have managed the Prince of Yan's Mansion very well these days. I did not make a mistake in choosing you. You are a rare talent, and I will protect you."
As long as Shen Wei continues to demonstrate her irreplaceable value, the Queen will continue to protect her.
With the Queen's words, the stone hanging in Shen Wei's heart fell to the ground with a bang.
Fortunately, the queen was on her side. She doesn't have to poison the princess.
"Bring the child here and let me see him." The queen was in a good mood, and the wet nurse carried the still sleeping little Leyou into the main room.
In the soft swaddling clothes, a baby several months old is sleeping soundly. The white and tender little hands were holding a tiger doll. Her skin was delicate, her eyelashes were long and covered with silk, and her pink and moist mouth was shiny, like an exquisite porcelain doll.
The queen's brows softened.
The queen said gently: "This child's eyebrows and eyes are very similar to Yuan Jing. He is more obedient than Yuan Jing and less noisy."
It is said that grandparents are closer to their grandchildren. The queen liked the child more and more, and even picked up the child herself. Little Leyou was woken up, but he didn't cry. Instead, he looked at the queen with his big black eyes and made a giggling sound from his mouth.
The queen held the child in her arms and looked up at Shen Wei: "You are deeply loved by Yuan Jing. You should have more children while you are still young. If you want to gain a foothold in the palace, one child is not enough."
Shen Wei sighed silently in her heart.
In any era, women cannot escape the fate of being induced to give birth.
If Shen Wei wants to gain a firm foothold in the palace, she must have her own son. However, Shen Wei was not in a hurry. The matter of offspring was determined by heaven. With the frequency of her and Prince Yan having sex every night, it was only a matter of time before she became pregnant again.
"Empress, His Royal Highness Prince Yan has arrived." The palace maid walked into the main house to report.
The reception ceremony for the envoys from Southern Chu was over, the envoys had been settled, and the Prince of Yan came to pay his respects to the Queen.
The queen sat in the main seat, holding little Leyou on her lap: "Let him in."
The sun was shining brightly as King Yan strode in. He was dressed in gorgeous royal robes, like a dragon or a tiger, and his every move revealed his majesty.
"Your son pays his respects to your mother." Prince Yan bowed and his eyes fell on Shen Wei beside him. Their eyes met, and Shen Wei raised a fond smile at the corner of her lips.
The queen said with a pleasant face: "Hurry up and take a seat. Have a taste of the mountain tea sent from Jiangnan."
Before she finished speaking, little Leyou, who was in the queen's arms, suddenly became excited. She tried hard to stretch out her two chubby little white hands, and grabbed in the direction of King Yan, making babbling calls from her mouth.
The queen was stunned.
The King of Yan smiled brightly and said, "Mother, let me hold the child."
Prince Yan held his daughter in his arms skillfully, and his movements were very standard. Little Leyou opened his little hands affectionately, grabbed King Yan's collar, and giggled.
The Prince of Yan proudly told the Queen: "Mother, Le You and I are the closest to each other."
