Chapter 100: Every meal should be appreciated

Tang Jinhui thought this was a good idea, but... she didn't know how to can food.

“Can you can can things?”

Su Nuan was stunned. What a coincidence...she doesn't know how to do it either.

"I'll try it out first, and if I succeed I'll teach you."

"OK."

Su Nuan came out of Tang Jinhui's house carrying a heavy basket on her back. Seeing that there was no one around, she quickly put the peaches into the space to avoid pain on her shoulders from carrying them.

When Su Nuan returned home, Song Chunfeng had already gone to work, and as usual, there was a box of untouched food on the table.

Su Nuan didn't mind the food being cold, she sat down and started eating.

If it were in the past, she would definitely complain that these things were not tasty, but since she came to this era, she has changed her bad habit of being picky about food. Every meal should be appreciated as it is not easy to come by.

After Su Nuan had eaten, she washed the lunch box and started to process the peaches.

She picked out a few fruits with fuller flesh, washed them, and put them on a plate, preparing to keep them as after-meal fruit.

Wash all the rest, peel them, remove the core, cut them into small pieces, pour in clean water, and soak them in a spoonful of salt to remove the astringency.

Su Nuan worked on it while watching the tutorial on her phone, and everything went smoothly.

She remembered that there were several glass jars in the space, so she took them out, washed them, scalded them in hot water for ten minutes, and then wiped them dry with a clean rag.

Pour the soaked peaches into the pot, add rock sugar and water, bring to a boil over high heat and then simmer for 15 minutes over low heat.

Put the cooked peaches into the jars while they are still hot and seal them with lids.

Just like that, the canned peaches are ready.

Su Nuan cooked five cans in total and put them all in the refrigerator after they cooled down.

This will make the taste better.

After finishing everything, Su Nuan took out a piece of paper and wrote down the steps for making canned food on it, planning to give it to Tang Jinhui later.

Seeing that Song Chunfeng would be off work in an hour, Su Nuan immediately started to prepare dinner.

She planned to make a calming pig heart soup, stuffed green peppers with meat, soy sauce shredded chicken and a spicy cabbage.

Su Nuan followed the instructions in an orderly manner. She used the stew pot in the space to quickly cook the soup, and it would basically be ready before Song Chunfeng got off work.

The rice was cooked in an electric rice cooker. Song Chunfeng had eaten it for so many meals without finding anything wrong with the food, so she felt at ease cooking rice in the electric rice cooker.

The rest is up to you to cook in your own kitchen.

The first dish is green pepper stuffed with meat.

Su Nuan first used a meat grinder to grind the lean meat into minced meat in advance, and then added an egg, chopped green onion, cooking wine, light soy sauce, oyster sauce, starch, and salt to the meat and mixed and marinated it.

Prepare a sauce with light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, starch, and salt, and finally add half a bowl of water and mix well.

Finally, remove the seeds from the green pepper, cut into small pieces, stuff them with minced meat, put them into the oil pan and fry until golden brown, pour in the sauce and cook until thick.

The second dish was soy sauce shredded chicken.

Hand-shredded chicken is made with two large chicken legs. First, cook the chicken legs, let them cool, tear them into small pieces, then pour the sauce prepared in advance on them and mix well.

The third dish is spicy cabbage.

First, wash the cabbage, cut it vertically in the middle, sprinkle with salt and marinate it. After the water comes out, wash it with clean water and then prepare a spicy cabbage sauce.

The spicy cabbage sauce contains three spoons of light soy sauce, three spoons of aged vinegar, one spoon of white sugar, and one spoon of oyster sauce. Finally, pour in hot oil containing onions, garlic, chili peppers, and chili powder and stir.

When Song Chunfeng came home from get off work, he smelled the fragrance of food and simply washed his hands before entering the house.

"It looks like you've made a lot of purchases today."

"Yes, I'll improve your food in the next few days." Su Nuan smiled and served Song Chunfeng a bowl of pig heart soup.

"Xiaohui and I will each buy half a pig's heart."

"And the peach tree at Xiaohui's house has so many peaches that the trunk is almost bent. She gave us half a basket of them. I'll keep these as after-meal fruit, and can the rest."

Su Nuan doesn’t really talk much, but when she sees Song Chunfeng she can’t help but share every little detail of her life with him.

Song Chunfeng listened carefully and agreed from time to time, but he rarely talked to Su Nuan about his work.

Su Nuan didn't ask proactively. After all, if she asked, it might be a confidential matter, so it was better not to know.

After dinner, Song Chunfeng buried two peach pits in a corner of the yard according to Su Nuan's instructions.

Su Nuan went to find Tang Jinhui with the paper with the steps for making canned food.

When she arrived, Tang Jinhui and He Yanzhi were still eating. She handed the food to Tang Jinhui and hurried back to avoid disturbing them.

In the evening, Tang Jinhui began to learn from Su Nuan how to deal with the peaches. He Yanzhi found a clay jar for her, which was used to pickle cabbage in the past. It could be used again after washing.

Tang Jinhui spent two hours making a large can of canned peaches and was so tired that she fell asleep the moment she lay down.

The next day, Su Nuan slept until she woke up naturally.

It was Tang Jinhui who woke her up.

"Xiao Nuan, did you forget that you were going to see a show today?"

Su Nuan rubbed her waist, "I didn't forget, I was just a little tired and couldn't get up today."

Tang Jinhui felt the same way. "I was also very tired last night. My husband and I worked on those cans until almost 10 o'clock before we went to bed!"

Su Nuan: ...

The tiredness we are talking about is not the same tiredness.

"Okay, I'll wash up first, eat something simple and then go with you."
