The late autumn sun streamed through the church's stained glass windows, casting dappled light across the red carpet. Chen Yu stood before the altar, his fingertips clutching a white bouquet, his knuckles turning slightly white. A soft sound came from behind him, and he turned to see Jiang Yizhou, dressed in a crisp black suit, being jostled by his groomsmen as he adjusted his tie—a tie Chen Yu had tied himself the night before, with a rather unorthodox Windsor knot.

"Nervous?" Jiang Yizhou broke away from his friend, strode up to him, and gently touched his cheek with his fingertips. "Just now in the lounge, I heard your heartbeat so fast it felt like it was about to explode."

Chen Yu turned her head to avoid his hand, but the tips of her ears turned red: "Who's nervous?" Although she said that, she couldn't hide the slight tremor in her voice.

A low laugh emanated from the guest seats. Chen Yu caught a glimpse of his parents sitting in the front row. His mother was wiping her eyes with a handkerchief, while his father made a "come on" gesture to him. Next to him sat Jiang Yizhou's family. His sister, Jiang Yining, was holding a camera, the lens pointed at the two of them, a mischievous smile on her face.

As the priest's gentle voice rang out, Chen Yu suddenly recalled an afternoon many years ago. Back then, they were still in high school. Jiang Yizhou had secretly slipped an orange candy into his desk. The teacher caught him and made him stand in the corner, but he still made faces at him in the hallway. The sun back then was just as warm as it is today, but he hadn't expected to find himself here in the blink of an eye.

"Mr. Jiang Yizhou, are you willing to..."

"I do." Jiang Yizhou's voice was steady, his eyes fixed on Chen Yu, as if afraid that he would run away. "From school uniforms to suits, from standing in the corner to now, I have waited for these words for too long."

When it was Chen Yu's turn, he took a deep breath and looked up into Jiang Yizhou's eyes—where he saw his own reflection, the church's stained glass windows, and all the hopes for the rest of his life. He suddenly smiled, his voice clear and bright: "I do."

When exchanging rings, Jiang Yizhou's fingertips trembled slightly, and he slipped the ring onto Chen Yu's ring finger three times before putting it on. Good-natured laughter erupted from the audience, but Chen Yu suddenly raised her hand, gently pressed his wrist, and pushed the ring in herself. Then she looked up at him, her eyes full of light: "I told you a long time ago, don't be nervous."

Jiang Yizhou chuckled, leaned closer, and whispered in his ear: "How can I not be nervous when I marry you?" The warm breath brushed against his ear, and Shen Yu's cheeks instantly burned.

As they left the stage, the confetti thrown by the guests landed in their hair. Jiang Yizhou held Chen Yu's hand tightly, walking through the flying confetti, as if walking through the wind and rain they had walked through together over the years. Chen Yu looked back, and the sun was just falling on the cross on the altar, reflecting a warm light.

It turns out that the best ending is not a grand oath, but to turn the heartbeat of youth into a long-lasting certainty.

Outside the car window, Jiang Yining stuck his head in, holding up a camera and shouting, "Brother! Brother Chen Yu! Smile!"

Chen Yu was pulled by Jiang Yizhou and turned around. The smiles of the two were frozen in the camera, with the background being the blue autumn sky and white balloons floating in the wind.

"Where are we going for our honeymoon?" Jiang Yizhou started the car and asked him sideways.

Chen Yu looked at the scenery passing by outside the window, and suddenly remembered the mountaintop where they first watched the stars together: "Let's go to the observatory last time. You said the winter sky there is the brightest."

"Okay." Jiang Yizhou held his hand, and the rings on their ring fingers touched, making a crisp sound. "I'll do as you say."

The car moves forward, carrying a car full of sunshine and expectations, heading towards a future with no end.
