Chapter 1 Premonition of Traveling

In an upscale residential complex in downtown Shanghai, Guan Shuishui is enjoying a happy weekend with her parents. Guan's mother is Dong Siping, a history professor at a university. She lacks the gentleness of a Jiangnan woman, but her fiery and forthright personality is what makes her father fall in love with her at first sight.

Guan's father is Guan Huashu, a renowned financial tycoon and a household name for money. His greatest strength is his patriotism. When he learned about the evacuation of Chinese citizens a few years ago, Guan's father immediately had his company arrange three passenger planes to work overtime to evacuate them. He is the first to donate money and supplies to disaster-stricken areas, and has built over 100 Hope Primary Schools across China.

He always said that doing these was just a piece of cake, and that the motherland needed their generation to protect it today, and that doing these things would also bring blessings to Shui Shui.

Guan Huashu and his wife have a very good relationship. Although their family is very rich, they have always been very low-key.

Shuishui grew up in this kind of family atmosphere. She inherited her father's love of money and is particularly sensitive to numbers and money. When she applied for college, everyone expected her to go to Harvard, but she chose University of B.C. She also inherited her mother's fiery temper, often shouting at injustice. Her classmates called her the Powerpuff Girls.

Nanny Cai's daughter-in-law had given birth to her granddaughter yesterday, so she went home on leave. Mother Guan was in the kitchen, singing "This Worship" while preparing dinner. Dad was busy in the study, and Guan Shuishui was lying on his bed in his room, lost in thought.

She'd been having a strange dream every day during her nap. She dreamt that the three of them had inexplicably transformed into something with a "space." This "space" was quite interesting: it was actually her kitchen! She couldn't see the surroundings clearly; only the kitchen seemed real in the dream. This dream only occurred during her nap, the exact same dream repeating itself. The dream conveyed a sense of increasing urgency, like a countdown to a launch.

Ever since she woke up from her nap, Shui Shui had been lying in bed, wondering if this was really going to happen. She had dreamed countless times since she was little, but none of them felt as real or as unsettling as this one.

She made a decision: to stock her kitchen with food!!

Yes, sisters, you read that right, it's a lot of food! Clothes and things in the kitchen can't be taken away, so only food can be taken. Guan Shuishui, the little foodie, is now thinking about stocking up quickly and can't wait a moment.

She rushed out of bed at a speed of 800 miles per second to the study, pulled Guan Dad, and then dragged Dad to the kitchen, asking Mom not to cook for the time being. She announced that she had something important to say.

After hearing about her dream, Guan's mother laughed so hard that she couldn't straighten her back. She laughed and said, "How can you still have such unreliable dreams at such a age? Traveling through time with your kitchen? Why don't you dream of exploring alien space? The country would save the trouble of launching rockets!" Guan's father listened very seriously. While thinking, he asked her, "Shuishui, are you sure this dream is real? Do you have a strong premonition of what is going to happen?"

Guan's mother smiled and said, "What happened to you two today? You took a dream seriously."

After careful consideration, Guan's father said, "Let's not take it lightly. I usually like to read all kinds of novels when I have nothing to do. Let's talk about the time travel thing. What if it happens?"

Mother Guan was at a loss for what to do with the father and son. She turned around and continued cooking while saying, "So what do you say we should do? Just sit here and wait for the time travel? Who knows when or where we'll travel to? Whatever happens, let's eat first and then continue researching the time travel, okay?"

The father and son hurried into the kitchen to help cook.
