In modern times, the history of crayfish can be traced back to the 1970s. Initially, local fishermen steamed crayfish with rice balls to make delicious crayfish rice. This practice gradually evolved into today's Xuyi crayfish.
Crayfish are native to the southern United States and were introduced to China in the 1930s. Since the 1970s, Xuyi has been a major producer of lobsters and other aquatic products, and as market demand has increased, artificial lobster farming has taken off.
But lobster farming hadn't yet taken off nationwide in the 1960s. People didn't realize how delicious cooked crayfish could be. At the time, many places called them "crawfish" because they were harmful to crops. Children would often catch them while playing, but adults, feeling it was a shame to throw them away, would chop them up and feed them to chickens. So it would take another decade or so for crayfish to become popular, but could Jiang Huashu wait? Absolutely not!
Since the breeding group has no breeding experience, then go back and teach yourself. With so many teaching videos and textbooks, I don’t believe you can’t learn it.
The bus to Honghu Commune is not a free-to-come-and-leave bus; it has a set departure schedule. Since they arrived at the station too early, with more than an hour left before departure, they decided to use this free time to explore the city.
As the car entered Huai'an's urban area, Jiang Huashu was immediately captivated by the scene before him. From the people's clothing to their manners and demeanor, he sensed that this place was nearly as prosperous as Shanghai. The streets were bustling with traffic, and a dazzling array of vehicles were available—sedans, bicycles, tricycles, and flatbed trucks.
Although there were quite a few people wearing red armbands, they seemed more low-key compared to other provinces. They just passed by in a hurry and did not behave in an arrogant and domineering manner to bully the people or make false accusations against others.
Witnessing the bustling city, the technical learners sighed, "Director Jiang, when will our county become this prosperous?" Jiang Huashu smiled and replied, "Don't doubt it. This is not a distant dream."
The group strolled through the city, briefly taking in everything around them, and then hurried back to the bus station. After a brief wait on the bus, less than ten minutes later, the bus finally slowly pulled out of the station.
As he neared Honghu Commune, Jiang Huashu successfully connected with the commune's receptionist. After completing the connection, he could safely leave the subsequent matters to them.
In fact, it was Jiang Huashu himself who proposed the idea of coming here to learn about hairy crab farming. However, this idea wasn't limited to Hongqi Commune; everywhere in the country with lake resources, people were eager to explore this industry. Knowing Jiangsu's reputation as a renowned crab-producing region, they flocked to learn from its expertise. This naturally led to the establishment of a dedicated reception and training department.
Once everything was properly handed over, Jiang Huashu's mission was successfully completed. He then noticed a three-story building, pure white as snow, standing beside him. Its side was meticulously carved with a giant river crab. Without a doubt, this building had become one of the most iconic structures in the area.
After declining the commune reception staff's invitation to have dinner in the cafeteria, Jiang Huashu left Honghu Commune as he wanted to do something.
