Chapter 538: Retirement from the Army (Twenty-one)

When Lu Zhishen heard that the two little brothers had big eyes, he was basically certain that they were Old Sun's two sons, because Old Sun had big eyes. Although Lu Zhishen had never seen the two children, Aunt Sun described the children's appearance to them last night, and the first characteristic was their big eyes.

The old man was still immersed in his own world, telling Lu Zhishen in detail about the county magistrate's family. Lu Zhishen felt that he should leave, otherwise his ears would get calluses. He couldn't stand the captain's chatter after staying with him for a long time.

Lu Zhishen's next stop was the county cooperative, where he wandered around pretending to buy something. Every counter in the fairly large supply and marketing cooperative was busy, except for the hardware and bicycle counter. A saleswoman held a small red plastic-rimmed mirror in one hand and a comb in the other, combing her bangs.

Buying a bicycle these days was a big purchase, and no one had the money to buy one on demand. Besides, the production volume wasn't high enough to guarantee availability. Then the boy approached and pretended to ask about bicycles, hoping to get some conversation from the salesperson.

But Lu Zhishen was still too young and had no life experience. Often, the salespeople in the least busy places were relatives. The bicycle salesperson he asked was the younger sister of the county magistrate's wife and the county magistrate's sister-in-law.

"Comrade, I want to see the bicycle."

The saleswoman acted as if she hadn't heard him and didn't even raise her head or glance at him.

Lu Zhishen thought that the other party didn't hear him, so he raised his voice and repeated the call to the salesperson.

"What are you shouting about? Are you blind standing here like this?"

Lu Zhishen was speechless. It was so damn shameless. After all this trouble, it was still his fault.

Today's sales clerks all have stable jobs and are paid by the government. Their service attitude is a characteristic of this era, and it's up to you whether you want to buy or not.

"Comrade, please introduce the bicycle."

"Isn't it right here? Can't you see how big the bike is?"

Lu Zhi took a deep breath. If he had been in the army with that kind of attitude, he would have been dragged away for drills long ago. He was still talking nonsense to her. He turned around and pointed at the large words on the wall of the supply and marketing cooperative and asked, "What's written on the wall?"

This time, the saleswoman glanced at Lu Zhishen, her eyes looking at him as if he were an ant. "What? Can't you read?"

Lu Zhishen took a few deep breaths before saying, "Your job here is to serve the people, not just ignore customers who come asking for bicycles."

The salesman's handsome brows furrowed instantly when he heard what Lu Zhishen said, and he glared at him angrily: "Who do you think you are? What's your business? You've got nothing better to do than to buy a bicycle. Are you going to buy one or not? If not, why are you asking me this? You're just here to kill time, right?"

Lu Zhishen dared to conclude that this woman was sick! Then he didn't want to say anything to this woman anymore, turned around and walked to another counter. It would be better to talk to someone else. You can't afford to offend a sick person.

Just as I was about to leave, the counter clerk stopped working.

"Hey, big guy, stop right there."

Lu Zhishen looked back at the saleswoman without saying a word, but the questioning look in his eyes was very obvious.

"Why don't you buy the bike after asking? No, you have to buy it today, or I won't let you leave."

Lu Zhishen was speechless. Who could understand the feeling of meeting a psychopath?

Then he really turned around and looked at the saleswoman, asking seriously, "You won't be allowed to leave if you don't buy a bike?"

"Why are you asking if you're not going to buy anything?"

"Who says you have to buy if you ask?"

The saleswoman fell silent.
