Chapter 54: Old Lady Guan Gets Mad

If a guest does not follow the rules of a guest, the host will definitely not welcome him.

After knocking on the door a few times and getting everyone else out, the eldest sister still hadn't come out. The four brothers were getting angry and were about to shout outside to wake her up. Old Lady Guan spat a mouthful of stale phlegm on the ground, pinched her waist with one hand, and pointed at them with the other, making a teapot gesture.

"You guys are killing me! Why are you filming when you're all asleep? You're filming in my yard on the third day of the Lunar New Year. You're destroying all the good fortune in my family!"

"Let's go find my eldest sister."

When Old Lady Guan saw this, she was like, "Ha, these damn brats didn't even say a word of apology. What the hell are they?"

"Looking for your sister. Didn't your sister come back to your house yesterday? Why are you still looking for her at my house?"

"My eldest sister came back yesterday and is not staying at my house. She asked us to come and see her today."

These idiots came to Lao Guan's house and put the blame on the eldest sister. When it came to the point of having to eat, four grown men came at once without even considering whether the sister could have a good life in her husband's family.

"She came back yesterday? Why didn't I see her come back? Did something happen to her on the way?

"Third son, third son? Don't sleep anymore, get up quickly, your wife's brothers are here, hurry up and go find your wife!" Old Lady Guan said as she knocked on the door of the third room, telling her third son to get up quickly and go find his wife.

In reality, the third brother's wife and husband had already woken up, and their two children were up and playing on the floor. Zhang Cuihua was too embarrassed to leave the house after being spanked so badly by her father and brothers. The third brother was upset because he had heard that his wife's four brothers were coming to his house. Last night, his wife had said some of them were staying with him, and he had refused at first. Now they were blocking his way so early in the morning. He hadn't figured out what to do. How to explain this to his parents? For now, he could only take things one step at a time.

"Oh, I heard you, mother. I'll get up right away." Guan Lao San replied hurriedly.

Old Man Guan listened to the noises outside his room, feeling a little hesitant. Something must be going on in the third room, and it must be something serious, otherwise there wouldn't be any such noise without it. Knowing that the third son's wife was taking care of her parents, he, as the head of the family, turned a blind eye to the minor quarrels. If the third son's wife dared to do anything else behind his back, he would let her divorce him!

After hesitating for more than ten minutes, the door of the third room was finally opened, and only Guan Lao San came out, but Zhang Cuihua did not come out.

Old Lady Guan asked, "Where is your wife?"

"I was tired from walking back and forth to my mother's house yesterday, so I slept in the house." Guan Lao San replied.

Old Lady Guan curled her lips and said, "You can fool a devil with this."

He pushed open the door and entered the third room. He saw Zhang Cuihua lying on the kang, her face covered with a quilt, sleeping. The two children were squatting on the floor playing.

"Third daughter-in-law, your brother is here, hurry up and get up. It's already so late and you're still lying here. I'm really tired of you if I don't scold you for a few days."

"Mom, I'm not feeling well. Let me rest for a while." Zhang Cuihua replied in a muffled voice from under the quilt.

Old Lady Guan felt something was even more wrong. None of the daughters-in-law dared to do this to her. What happened to Zhang Cuihua?

He walked to the kang and lifted up the quilt. Zhang Cuihua didn't notice and the quilt was pulled away. She quickly covered her face with her hands, but she was seen by the old woman Guan.

"What's wrong with your face? Who hit you?"

"Mom, no one hit me. I fell while walking when I got home yesterday."

"Bah, who are you kidding? Did the Third Brother beat you up because you went back to your parents' home? Or someone else? Tell me now while I'm not scolding you!"

"Mom, no one is really hitting me!"
