Guan Huashu led the militia and plainclothes officers to bypass the village and go up the mountain along a small path. They ran all the way and soon reached the halfway point of the mountain.
When they arrived at the entrance of the cave, Suihe led the way in. Before entering the cave, Guan Huashu reminded everyone to just follow Suihe's path because they were afraid of landmines.
After leaving the cave and entering the house, everyone was shocked by the contents of the box. This was a big deal! So many things, cabinets full of gold bars, the plainclothes officers were stunned.
Guan Huashu asked the middle-aged plainclothes commander-in-chief of this operation, Lao Cui, what to do next.
"Let's move all the stuff down the mountain before it gets completely dark. With so many weapons and explosives, every minute we stay on the mountain means more danger," said Lao Cui.
"Report, I want to help transport the explosives to the county." Suihe volunteered to help transport the explosives. Guan Huashu didn't want him to go, but Suihe insisted, saying that he was alone and had no ties, so he was more suitable for transportation. Everyone was deeply moved by this. Guan Huashu saw that he couldn't stop him and could only repeatedly remind him to be careful.
Suihe is such a good boy!
Everyone took action before it got completely dark and carefully carried all the weapons down the mountain.
Halfway through the journey, they met Dongzi, who was running up the mountain to monitor Zhang Zhiqing. Seeing Guan Huashu running over, he said that Zhang Zhiqing was about to come to the mountainside and it looked like he was going to run. He asked for the next instruction. Lao Cui said, "That's great. Let's not beat around the bush with him and catch him directly." Guan Huashu also agreed. This was a time bomb. No one knew when and where it would explode. It would be a relief if they caught him sooner.
When they reached the foot of the mountain, Lao Cui put the box he was carrying on the truck, turned around and took a few plainclothes officers to the foot of the mountain to capture Zhang Zhiqing.
Zhang Zhiqing was still pretending to run at the foot of the mountain, but when he saw someone coming to arrest him, he stopped pretending and jumped up without saying a word and started fighting with the plainclothes police.
When working in the fields, he pretended to be a weak scholar, unable to move this or lift that. Unexpectedly, this educated youth Zhang was very good at pretending. He was very skilled in martial arts and quite good at fighting. It took four plainclothes officers to pin him down, handcuff him, gag him, push him into a jeep, and follow the truck escorting weapons back to the county.
Halfway through the journey, Suihe and two other plainclothes officers unloaded the explosives from the vehicle and took them to an underground warehouse. They also helped everyone else load boxes of weapons into the basement. This was the county's heavily guarded storage area for contraband, some distance from the county seat. After unloading the weapons and explosives, they got back in the vehicle and drove for over half an hour back to the county. This trip was a particularly fruitful one, with so many weapons confiscated and a spy captured alive, all with zero casualties. Everyone was delighted.
After getting off the bus and detaining Zhang Zhiqing in a holding cell, Suihe, standing outside, anxiously warned Lao Cui to be vigilant against any accomplices attempting to break into the prison, and to ensure Zhang's diet and water intake were adequate to prevent him from being drugged and silenced. Lao Cui nodded repeatedly, patted Suihe on the shoulder, and asked if he was willing to work at the county public security bureau. Suihe thought, "Why ask? Of course I'd love to!" He nodded repeatedly, promising to contribute to the cause of socialism.
Lao Cui asked him to take the militia to the dormitory at the back to rest for a while and return to the village after daybreak. He also told him that he had worked hard recently and should have a good rest after returning home, as good things would be waiting for him in the near future.
In fact, when Lao Cui said this, Suihe guessed that he might come to work in the county public security bureau. He particularly liked this job.
The kid was a calm person, and no matter how excited he was, he didn't show it. He thanked Lao Cui and went to the dormitory in the backyard, found a bed and lay down to sleep for a while.
