Chapter 123 Watching a Movie

Su Simei knew that her cousin was coming down today, so she waited for him early in the morning.

Today is Saturday. She originally wanted to ask for leave, but the person who used to help her in charge of the class had something to do today, so she had to continue working in order to help. However, Saturdays are a little free, so it’s okay to step away for a while.

Xiaoqi's family got off the bus and took the bus to his aunt's hospital as usual.

It’s just that Xiaoqi’s mother rarely takes the bus. When she arrived at Huanghe Town, her face was as pale as paper. When she got off the bus in Lushan City, she vomited so much that her legs became weak. She vomited not only what she had eaten in the morning, but also what she had eaten last night. She looked very embarrassed.

Driver Dayong was not surprised. Few people from the village went to the city, and when they did, this kind of thing would always happen. The trees on the parking side were stronger than those elsewhere because they had too much fertilizer.

So the family of three had no choice but to walk to my aunt's hospital.

Fortunately, Xiaoqi is used to walking now and is not tired. He even takes the things his mother is carrying and carries them up.

She wanted to take the things her father was carrying, but Su Youfu quickly refused. It was not right for him to let the child carry things with empty hands.

After walking for a while, Sheng Juanhua's face gradually regained some of its rosiness, but her feet were still a little light.

She seldom went into the city, and was dazzled by the tall buildings there.

"Lvshan City has changed a lot. I remember that there were no buildings here in those days."

"The changes over there are even bigger. A new cinema and a large shopping mall have been built." Su Youfu said.

"We can go to the movies together."

Xiaoqi suggested that his parents probably had never seen such a movie on the big screen.

Come to think of it, it's really like two different worlds. Teacher Zhou took me to see a concert where a group of foreigners played musical instruments and sang.

Her parents rarely even see movies on this kind of screen.

Sure enough, I heard my father say, "I heard a ticket costs tens of dollars, so I won't waste money. It's the same to watch it on TV."

"Yeah, it's probably the same as TV, a waste of money." Sheng Juanhua also agreed.

The family of three walked very fast and it didn't feel like they had arrived at the hospital for long.

Su Youfu and his wife came together because they also wanted to thank Su Simei in person. After all, their daughter had troubled her aunt for so long.

Seeing that her cousin and his wife had arrived and brought a large pile of food, Su Simei smiled warmly and said, "Don't bring so much food every time. I can't finish it."

Sheng Juanhua was surprised to see her cousin: "Simei, how come you have lost so much weight? I can hardly recognize you."

When Su Simei heard this, the smile on her face became even bigger.

"I've been exercising to lose weight recently."

"No wonder, she looks more energetic and beautiful." Sheng Juanhua said sincerely.

They were really the same two people as she had in her impression. She remembered that her cousin Youfu had a miserable life. After the divorce, she gained weight desperately and became extremely fat. However, she had a good temper. Moreover, Xiaoqi never complained about anything when eating with her aunt. This was rare. She knew her own daughter was not the kind of girl who was good at dealing with people. It was not easy for her aunt to say anything.

Su Simei was very happy to be praised by her family.

Su Youfu is a man, and he is a little careless, so he didn't notice the changes in his cousin's figure, but she looked much more energetic.

After chatting for a while, Su Simei was about to go to work. Sheng Juanhua helped her daughter pack her suitcase and found that her daughter didn't bring much to school, just a few sets of clothes, some books, and a pair of shoes.

I haven't brought any winter clothes yet. Meng City is a coastal city and the temperature is relatively high. Besides, if I need clothes later, it would be better to buy them in Meng City than in Lushan City. Sheng Juanhua now thinks that there is money in her passbook, so she speaks more confidently.

Despite this, after packing up, the family still went out to see if there was anything they needed to buy. They should buy new toothpaste, toothbrushes, towels, etc., as it was a new school and a new beginning.

Sheng Juanhua felt that there was not enough time. Xiaoqi's car left in the evening, and it would be night when they arrived in Meng City.

Xiaoqi still wants to take his family to see a movie, after all, such opportunities are too rare.

Although Sheng Juanhua and Su Youfu felt sorry for the money, they still agreed because their child was about to go to school.

Xiaoqi picked out some good movies but didn't find any. Thinking about the big screen in the cinema, he chose a foreign film with big action scenes, which might stand out more.

In the end, I chose a movie about zombies, with Chinese subtitles and English dialogues.

It seems that it is not very suitable for family viewing. There are not many people in the cinema during the day, and it is almost like the theater is reserved.

When Xiaoqi's family of three entered, Sheng Juanhua was quite curious and looked around.

Su Youfu was not much better off. When he was a child, there were movies shown in the village. But this one was different. There was no movie machine. There was just a big screen in front of him, and the movie was shown directly. The machine must have been hidden.

The chairs in the cinema are red and very soft.

Xiaoqi did not follow the local custom and buy Coke and popcorn, but bought a bottle of water for each person outside.

The cola and popcorn combo costs over seventy yuan. Her parents probably won't say anything if she buys it, but they will probably be heartbroken because her dad will have to weave bamboo until midnight again.

Sheng Juanhua and Su Youfu sat together, and Xiaoqi sat next to his mother.

The chairs are very soft and you feel like you are sinking into them when you sit down. There is also air conditioning inside, so it is very cool.

After the commercials, the cinema suddenly became dark and pitch black.

Xiaoqi taught her parents how to put on their glasses, and she put them on herself too.

The movie started, and suddenly a zombie rushed towards them, as if it was going to walk up to them, and Xiaoqi was startled.

Sheng Juanhua was so frightened that she grabbed her husband with one hand and her daughter's arm with the other.

Then the zombie was suddenly shot in the head.

The bullet flew over, and it seemed to be flying towards them.

Xiao Qi tried his best to pretend to be worldly-wise, but he was still scared.

I unconsciously grabbed my mother's arm.

By the time the movie officially started, maybe because I had adapted to the feeling of 3D, or the 3D was not so obvious after it started, anyway it was not as thrilling. However, there is still a big difference between watching it on the big screen and on TV.

Xiaoqi spent the entire holiday studying English. He is very familiar with the English conversations and enjoys reading them.

Sheng Juanhua and Su Youfu couldn't understand a word and could only read the subtitles. However, reading the subtitles was quite tiring, so they just watched the pictures.

The couple was enjoying a foreign film. Although they didn't understand much, they watched it very seriously and thought about telling about their experience of watching the movie when they returned to the village.

The pace of the movie is okay, but it's a bit disjointed. In the end, it doesn't explain whether all the zombies are dead or not, and whether humans have won or perished.

Subtitles appeared on the screen and the lights in the cinema were turned on. Sheng Juanhua and Su Youfu took off their glasses, still feeling a little dizzy.

Xiaoqi wasn't much better, just a little better. She felt a little dizzy when she saw her parents coming out. After they went to the bathroom, she felt a little annoyed that she didn't know how to choose a movie. If she had known this, she would have chosen a domestic movie. Although it might be a terrible movie, at least her parents would understand it better. Xiaoqi didn't quite understand this movie.

But when he saw his parents walking out hand in hand, looking very close, Xiaoqi, standing at the door of the cinema, felt particularly happy at that moment.

It feels like a family of three, all together.
