Chapter 54: Jam is ready

Grabbing sacks and hoes, the three set off, heading for the fields near the river.

The soil that was turned out still had a fishy smell, and even a lot of earthworms were found. Sangsang was scared, so Ningxia asked her to hide away. The soil by the river was very moist, so Ningxia filled two sacks and stopped.

There was no way, the road outside was rough and the cart couldn't be pushed out.

Ningxia and Lin Yi took Maomao back and forth twice before they dug up all the soil they needed. The height of the flower pots wasn't suitable for growing vegetables, so Ningxia only filled them halfway.

"Sister Xia Xia, aren't you going to plant?" Lin Yi was a little puzzled. The flowerpots were ready and the soil had been brought back.

She finally made two brooms at dusk. They certainly looked different from others', after all, she had tied them by herself. But as long as they were usable, she didn't care about their appearance.

After admiring the broom she had woven for a while, Ningxia raised her head to stretch her neck, only to find that the two siblings had separated at some point. They were each holding a book and reading it intently, and she didn't know how long they had been reading.

For some reason, Ningxia's heart ached for the first time in a long time.
