Seeing the bottom of the cliff faintly, Dongfang Yifei dared not be careless. He focused intently on holding Nangong Ziyan tightly, searching for a place to land.
"Great, Yan'er, we can see the bottom of the cliff!" Dongfang Yifei exclaimed in surprise.
Nangong Ziyan then tried to open her eyes. Just how high was this?! It felt like half a century had passed before she could see the bottom of the cliff. But she was relieved that they would finally not die.
"Yifei, be careful." Although they could see the bottom of the cliff, it was still very steep, and their falling speed did not slow down.
"Don't worry, Yan'er, I won't let you get hurt." Dongfang Yifei smiled happily. Just now, he finally understood what 'love' meant.
As they drew closer to the bottom of the cliff, Dongfang Yifei reached out a hand to try and grab an extended branch to slow their descent. However, the weight of the two of them was too great, and the branch was too thin. The sound of the branch breaking could be heard repeatedly, which did slow their fall.
Just as Dongfang Yifei was feeling fortunate, a huge rock that suddenly appeared stunned him.
"Yan'er, be careful!" Dongfang Yifei shouted, and Nangong Ziyan saw it too.
If it falls onto the rock, it could be fatal. What should we do? As she looked down, Nangong Ziyan suddenly noticed vines climbing on the rock.
"Yifei, try to grab that vine. It's thick and should be able to support the weight of both of us."
"Alright!" Dongfang Yifei had the same idea, and stretched out his long arm to grab the vine.
The two people stopped falling instantly; the force was so great that they crashed into the cliff face.
"Ugh!" Dongfang Yifei groaned, the pain in his back telling him that something had pierced his flesh.
Hearing Dongfang Yifei's muffled groan, Nangong Ziyan knew he must be injured.
"Yifei, you want to let me go? We're not far from the stone anymore. I'll go down first."
"Alright! Yan'er, you'd better hold on tight."
After Nangong Ziyan gripped the vine tightly, Dongfang Yifei carefully released her. Only then did he realize that his arms, which had been holding her, were numb.
Nangong Ziyan quickly slid down the vines to the large rock, feeling incredibly fortunate to have survived. The alternating hell and heaven experiences were making her somewhat uneasy; she preferred a slower pace of life.
He looked up at Dongfang Yifei.
"Yifei, come down!"
"Hmm!" Dongfang Yifei recovered from the pain and easily slid down the vine to Nangong Ziyan's side.
Nangong Ziyan quickly walked behind him and felt guilty when she saw the bloodstains on his back.
"Yifei, you're injured. Let me bandage your wound first, then we'll find a way out."
Nangong Ziyan helped Dongfang Yifei sit down and quickly took out her first aid kit from her spatial ring. At that moment, she suddenly remembered that she could have asked Qingluan to come out and save them, but she had forgotten because she was afraid.
"Ouch!" Nangong Ziyan smacked her head hard, feeling like she couldn't even turn a knife to cut wheat.
"What's wrong? Yan'er, why are you hitting yourself?" Dongfang Yifei looked at her in confusion.
"Yifei, I'm so stupid. I could have easily sent Qingluan to save us, but I was too scared and forgot for a moment."
Nangong Ziyan looked guilty; otherwise, Yifei wouldn't have been injured.
"If you hit yourself just because of this, what if Qingluan comes out? Then I won't have a chance to show off!"
Dongfang Yifei smiled, and this scene seemed to bring back memories of the times he visited the South China Sea Glass Palace every year to play with her.
"Hmm! Now that you've shown your mettle, let's see if you can still laugh. You know I'm often a bit slow and prone to making mistakes."
Nangong Ziyan glanced at him; the disinfectant was already prepared. She gestured to Dongfang Yifei with her eyes to take off his clothes.
Dongfang Yifei smiled and took off his clothes in a very generous manner.
Perhaps because she was already quite familiar with Dongfang Yifei, Nangong Ziyan didn't feel shy.
Nangong Ziyan looked and saw that Dongfang Yifei had a deep cut on his waist, and blood was still flowing out.
Nangong Ziyan stopped talking and quickly treated Dongfang Yifei's wounds in her own way, and then gave him a bottle of healing medicine.
After tending to Dongfang Yifei's wounds, Nangong Ziyan sat down next to him, looking down without saying a word. The scenery at the bottom of the cliff wasn't particularly beautiful; everything was lush and green, overgrown with weeds. Even if it were beautiful, Nangong Ziyan wasn't in the mood to appreciate it. Her mother and father must be very worried about her.
Dongfang Yifei slowly put on his clothes, glancing at Nangong Ziyan out of the corner of his eye.
She asked casually, "Are you worried about him?"
The sudden question startled Nangong Ziyan. She lowered her eyes, and silence was her best response.
“That man in white seems to be more powerful than Haotian. I’m worried that Haotian might get hurt.”
Dongfang Yifei paused in fastening his belt, feeling very displeased upon hearing Bei Ming Haotian's name.
"Yan'er, are you hungry? Why don't we go down and find something to eat? It's getting dark, we need to find a place to spend the night. We can only wait until it gets dark to look for a way out."
Dongfang Yifei didn't want to mention Bei Minghaotian anymore. Now that she was with him, she wanted him to be the center of her life.
"Alright! Your wound is deep, so you shouldn't overexert yourself. Let's find a place to rest for the night before we figure out a way out!"
Nangong Ziyan sighed inwardly. She could only pray to heaven that Haotian would return safely.
"Judging from the terrain, there should be flat land further down." Dongfang Yifei looked around and estimated the height of the cliff. How could there be such a deep cliff on Lingxian Island?
