"Oh!" Nangong Ziyan snapped back to reality, looked at the river, and saw eight fish.
"Haotian, will you eat five strips and Ziyan eat three?"
"Yan'er, is there even a need to ask?" Bei Ming Haotian smiled wickedly and walked towards the river to pick out the fish and process them.
"Yan'er? Haotian, are we that close? It seems we've only known each other for half a day." Nangong Ziyan belatedly realized this question.
"Doesn't Yan'er like this name?" Bei Ming Haotian didn't turn around. He used his spiritual energy to draw the fish to the riverbank and skillfully gutted it.
"No, no." Of course it is! Such an intimate way of addressing her will lead her astray.
"That's good." Bei Ming Haotian lowered his head, a warm smile on his lips. He thought it would be difficult for her to say it like that, but he didn't expect it to come out so easily. He didn't need to think about it in his mind; it just came out naturally.
"Does Haotian often cook fish?" Nangong Ziyan asked, seeing how skillfully Beiming Haotian cooked it.
"I, this young master, have no worries about food or clothing; everything is done for me. But I can't let a woman do these things!" How could he bear to let her do these things? Her gentle touch when she was an infant had become his warmest comfort all these years. The companionship of hearts is a connection of souls; her curious eyes were a source of spiritual warmth. Now, she is by his side, a tenderness in his life.
"You're kidding, you can't get this good in just one or two tries." Nangong Ziyan squatted down next to Beiming Haotian, watching him clean the fish scales and guts. Then she picked some clean branches and leaves from the surrounding area and took the fish that Beiming Haotian had cleaned, cleaning them one by one.
Looking at Nangong Ziyan bustling around him, Beiming Haotian's handsome face beneath the mask softened. This simple life was what he had always longed for, but she had never shared it with him. At this moment, he felt very happy.
The two quickly prepared the eight fish.
Bei Ming Haotian quickly gathered firewood and lit a campfire, making the night even brighter.
Nangong Ziyan moved the fish to the campfire, took out the barbecue seasoning from her spatial ring, and carefully seasoned each fish. "Wow! Tonight we're having a whole fish feast! Wild fish tastes the most authentic. Eight of them, enough to burst my belly!" Nangong Ziyan said to herself.
Bei Ming Haotian sat to one side, gazing at her with fascination. Thinking of her warm words, he felt even more excited and warm inside.
After tidying everything up, Nangong Ziyan took out various kitchen utensils and prepared to start cooking the fish.
"Haotian, I'll make you a whole fish feast tonight." Nangong Ziyan turned around and looked at Beiming Haotian excitedly. Making delicious food was her specialty.
"Okay!" Bei Ming Haotian replied jokingly. Would she really do it? However, looking at Nangong Ziyan's subsequent actions, Bei Ming Haotian's joking eyes were so surprised that his eyeballs almost popped out.
Bei Ming Haotian looked at Nangong Ziyan in surprise. She was a young lady from the Liuli Palace in the South China Sea, and she actually knew how to cook. He had originally come with the intention of watching a show to see if she could cook, but he did not expect that she would bring all the cooking utensils and seasonings with her when she went out. This really surprised him.
Half an hour later, a low table large enough for four people was filled with a whole fish feast that looked and smelled delicious.
