Chapter Ninety-One: Not to Be Underestimated

Nangong Ziyan quickly took out a small bag of medicinal powder, placed it on the ground, and then took out a glass bottle containing red liquid. After mixing the two, she sprinkled it around the man.

Everyone looked at her actions with curiosity.

Before long, a monster the size of a small squirrel appeared beside the man, baring its teeth at Nangong Ziyan, its two sharp teeth instantly becoming visible to everyone.

Nangong Ziyan picked up the demon beast and compared it with the teeth marks on Nan Ying's neck; the answer was obvious.

"Ah!" The man looked at Nangong Ziyan in horror. "How did you guess it was me?"

The man was somewhat incredulous; there was no one here when he made his move.

"It's very simple. When Zi Yan's eyes met yours, even if they weren't the killers, when Zi Yan looked at them with suspicion, their eyes would flash with panic and worry. Zi Yan looked at you twice, but each time you appeared calm and composed. You clearly knew that I couldn't find the murderer. Based on this slight change, I had Hao Tian attack you when you were off guard. Out of natural reaction, and given Hao Tian's special status, you fought back with all your might. To avoid being hurt, you didn't think twice and took out your weapon to defend yourself. And what I wanted to see was your weapon. Nan Ying's wound on her back was a knife wound, the same size as your chain knife. Now the evidence is conclusive, what else do you have to say?"

Nangong Ziyan questioned angrily, her face tense. Was life really worthless in their eyes?

"Hmph! Since the evidence is conclusive, I have nothing to say. Kill me or torture me, it's up to you." The man's face was unyielding, showing no remorse whatsoever.

Nangong Ziyan closed her eyes in pain, but when she opened them again, she had regained her usual clarity.

"Kill me or torture me, do as you please? Do you know that life is the most precious thing a person has, and fate has supreme power over the living. But it is powerless over those who know how to die. You may not care about other people's lives, but have you ever thought about the person who was innocently killed by the abuse of power? With a single thought, you have ruined her entire life." Nangong Ziyan's tone was very agitated, but she also understood one thing: it was impossible to reason with these people with outdated ideas.

But what she didn't expect was that the speaker meant something, and the listener took it to heart. For example, Baili Jun'ao looked at Nangong Ziyan with gentle eyes, saying that only those who know how to cherish life can get what they want.

The man stared intently at Nangong Ziyan. Their existence had always been solely for killing; they had never considered the consequences of killing others. At the last moment, the man suddenly felt remorse. He looked at the corpse on the ground, then at Nangong Ziyan.

"Thank you for what you said. In my life, no one has ever said these words to us. We exist only to obey other people's orders. No one has ever told us that life is the most precious thing." The man smiled gratefully at Nangong Ziyan, then punched himself hard in the chest. Immediately, the man spat out blood and his head slumped down heavily. But no one noticed that when the man punched himself in the chest, Beiming Haotian injected a power into the man's body.

"Take him away." Bei Ming Haotian pushed the man's body into the hands of two masked men in black who were waiting for orders. Both men understood Bei Ming Haotian's meaning and simply took him away.

"Young Master Ximen, the matter has been resolved. You can make your own arrangements for the aftermath!" Nangong Ziyan endured the urge to faint, trying her best to hold back. At least in front of so many people, she couldn't collapse.

"Thank you, Miss Nangong. And Nangong Ziyan, I have learned a great deal today." Ximen Ruiyun looked at Nangong Ziyan gratefully. In this way, Nan Ying could die in peace. He understood the purpose of Nangong Ziyan's actions and felt ashamed of his own narrow-mindedness.

"Mmm!" Nangong Ziyan nodded, trying her best to stay awake.

"Miss, Fei Ping will escort you back to your room." Fei Ping, who knew Nangong Ziyan well, was aware of her current situation.

"Okay!" Nangong Ziyan lowered her head, making sure no one could see her unusual expression.

"Yan'er, are you alright...?" But before Bei Ming Haotian could finish speaking, Fei Ping had already disappeared with Nangong Ziyan.

A surge of anger suddenly rose in Bei Ming Haotian's heart, and he instantly followed behind.

Immediately, the onlookers, seeing the main character leave, lost interest and went back to their rooms to prepare for tomorrow's auction.

Baili Jun'ao glanced in the direction of Nangong Ziyan, clenched his fist, and slowly walked towards his room.

Baili Yuechan watched his retreating figure, sneering incessantly. "Baili Jun'ao, you can't escape the allure of a woman's gentle fragrance either?"

Fei Ping had just laid Nangong Ziyan down and hadn't even had time to cover her with a blanket when Bei Ming Haotian barged in.

"Yan'er." He rushed to the bedside and saw Nangong Ziyan's bloodless face, and his heart was filled with anxiety.

"What's wrong with Yan'er?" Looking at Fei Ping's calm face, Bei Ming Haotian knew that Fei Ping knew what was wrong with Yan'er.

Fei Ping glanced at Bei Ming Haotian and said reluctantly, "Miss exhausted her cultivation to detect whether the man had any demonic beasts on him. She will be fine as long as she rests until tomorrow morning."

Upon hearing this, Bei Ming Haotian looked at her pale face with heartache, his heart filled with gratitude. She had done so much for him, how could he really run away?

"You may leave now! I will take good care of Yan'er myself," Bei Ming Haotian said coldly. He didn't like other men staring at her; it made him so jealous he wanted to kill someone.
