Chapter Twenty: All Eaten Up

"Haotian, so you two know each other?"

"Haotian?" The old man stared at Nangong Ziyan in astonishment, his beard bristling and eyes wide. Someone actually dared to call this kid by his name, and it was a woman, no less! He was so surprised that he didn't even notice that Beiming Haotian's eyes had turned black.

"Little girl, you, you're not afraid of him?" The old man was so surprised that he stammered.

"Afraid of Haotian? Why should I be afraid of Haotian? Haotian isn't some monster." Nangong Ziyan stared wide-eyed at the old man. She could sense that Haotian wasn't a bad person. If he were a wicked person, she wouldn't be eating with him face to face like this.

"Little girl, he's more terrifying than a flood or a ferocious beast!" The old man was no longer calm and jumped to Nangong Ziyan's side.

Bei Ming Haotian glanced disdainfully at the old man and continued eating his food, ignoring what they were saying.

"Grandpa, but Ziyan doesn't feel that Haotian is as terrifying as a flood or a beast!" Nangong Ziyan's expression was cute, but those who know her know that this is not her true nature.

"Grandpa?" The old man pointed to himself. How did he become a grandpa? Was he really that old? He had the youthful and handsome face of someone in his thirties, only his eyes were a little small and his hair was a little white.

"Can't I call him Grandpa?" Nangong Ziyan put down her chopsticks and looked at the old man with some anger. Although she seemed a little scared on the surface, she was not flustered at all.

"Hmm!" The old man closed his eyes and nodded, actually probing Nangong Ziyan's cultivation level.

"Eh! Little girl, you're a pharmacist?" And a Celestial Pharmacist at that. The old man didn't say the last sentence. He looked at Nangong Ziyan in surprise. The aroma of fish no longer attracted him. Pharmacists were hard to find in the world. He couldn't miss this opportunity.

"Yes!" Nangong Ziyan readily admitted that pharmacists were in short supply, especially Heavenly Pharmacists like herself.

"Young lady, who is your teacher?" The old man was now completely interested in Nangong Ziyan.

Upon hearing this, Bei Ming Haotian gave a wicked smile, his sharp eyes flashing with a glint of light, but he still didn't stop eating.

"Grandpa, Ziyan didn't have a teacher. Ziyan's father gave her a book on potion preparation, and that's how she learned it slowly." Nangong Ziyan was absolutely not lying; she was indeed self-taught.

"So that means you're self-taught?" The old man was even more agitated now, staring at Nangong Ziyan in shock. Could it be that among the hundred people on Tiannan Star, he had finally encountered someone who was both literate and skilled in martial arts?

“You could say that,” Nangong Ziyan said, picking up her chopsticks, wanting to have a proper dinner. She was still hungry and didn’t have time to chat with the old man.

Nangong Ziyan was about to pick up a piece of fish when she looked around and realized there was no fish left! Plate after plate of fish bones were all that remained.

"Bang!" The chopsticks in Nangong Ziyan's hand fell to the ground.

"Wow! You ate it all! Aren't you afraid of stuffing yourself to death?" Tian Nanxing roared, glaring at Bei Minghaotian with his small eyes.

Nangong Ziyan was on the verge of tears. This was too much! Her whole fish feast was gone after she only exchanged a few words with this old man.

"I've finished eating, you can continue your conversation," Bei Ming Haotian said calmly, patting his round belly. This was the best fish he had ever eaten, and he couldn't resist finishing it all. This was also the first time he had ever eaten so much fish since he was born.
