Chapter Twenty-Eight: Speaking the Truth

Ximen Chunxue's face was ashen. She never imagined things would turn out this way. Her reputation was ruined by this vile woman. She completely ignored the two people on the ground pleading for help.

“Venerable Nanxing, young lady, sir, it is my fault for not disciplining my sister properly, which has led her to do such a shameful thing. Young lady, I apologize on behalf of my sister. I hope you will be magnanimous and not hold my sister’s ignorance against me.”

Ximen Ruiyun cupped his hands in apology to Nangong Ziyan. If they were to fight today, they would be no match for them. Beiming Haotian, the ruler of the Netherworld Continent, had his palace nearby, but no one had ever found it.

What was even more unexpected was that the girl in front of him was not only close to Bei Ming Haotian, but also a disciple of Nan Xing Zun Zhe.

"Fine, I can let today's events slide. But judging from this young lady's expression, she seems quite resentful. If she seeks revenge on me for what happened today, I will show no mercy." Nangong Ziyan's pretty face was full of warning. However, judging from Ximen Chunxue's appearance, she would most likely seek revenge. Today's events were tantamount to killing her.

"I will not blame you then," Ximen Ruiyun said politely, which made Nangong Ziyan feel somewhat favorably toward him.

"Thank you for your magnanimity, Miss." A hint of gratitude flashed in Ximen Ruiyun's eyes, and then she said, "Miss, about today's matter..."

"Don't worry, young master, I didn't see anything today." Nangong Ziyan quickly interrupted Ximen Ruiyun. She wasn't so bored as to gossip about these things, and besides, she didn't have the time for that. She had more important things to do.

"Thank you, young lady! I'll take my leave now." Ximen Ruiyun knew that staying would only make her and Chunxue look even more humiliated.

"Please, young master!"

Ximen Ruiyun gave Beiming Haotian a deep look before leading everyone away, but neither Nangong Ziyan nor Beiming Haotian could ignore the murderous intent in Ximen Ruiyun's eyes.

Before leaving, Ximen Chunxue glared fiercely at Nangong Ziyan, the meaning of which was self-evident.

Nangong Ziyan shook her head. Tonight, another innocent person will lose their life.

"Yan'er, did you really not see anything just now?" Bei Ming Haotian asked with a wicked smile, leaning close to Nangong Ziyan's ear in a somewhat ambiguous manner.

"Hmph!" Nangong Ziyan glared fiercely at Beiming Haotian. This guy is still thinking about that little thing.

"My dear disciple, why did you let them go so easily?" Tian Nanxing asked, somewhat unwillingly.

"That's not important. That guy named Ximen something, didn't he call you Venerable Nanxing? Do you know someone named Venerable Yunxiao?" Nangong Ziyan was now interested in this matter.

"Yun, Venerable Yunxiao?" Upon hearing this, Tian Nanxing looked at Bei Minghaotian with a sly grin, but Bei Minghaotian made no response.

"Yes, yes, it's Venerable Yunxiao, do you know him?" Nangong Ziyan looked at Tian Nanxing with anticipation.

“How could I not know him? He’s my old man’s senior brother,” Tian Nanxing said truthfully.

"Really? You really are Venerable Yunxiao's junior brother?" Nangong Ziyan asked excitedly, her mind suddenly flashing back to the pair of red, lonely, and sorrowful eyes of the boy named Tian'er.
