Chapter 49: Can't Say

Chapter 49: Can't Say

Passing by the brand new teaching building, Xin Tianyi looked up at the second floor.

Class 1 to Class 4 of Grade 1 are all on the first floor, excluding the classrooms and offices at both ends. Class 5 is right at the corner of the second floor.

Xin Tianyi didn't have time to go to his own class first. He passed by the door of Class 1 and went upstairs.

"Xin Tianyi?"

A timid voice sounded behind him. Xin Tianyi stopped climbing the stairs and turned to look.

A girl with long hair and glasses was looking at her.

Seeing Xin Tianyi turn around, the girl immediately breathed a sigh of relief. Her face was round, and the glasses hanging on her nose were also round. When she looked at Xin Tianyi, it was as if she saw a savior.

Xin Tianyi seemed to be depriving his brain of oxygen. He tried to identify the girl for a long time but still couldn't recognize who she was.

The little girl smiled and said, "I saw it was you, so I called you. But what are you doing upstairs? This is Class 1."

Xin Tianyi immediately explained: "I'm going to the fifth shift."

The girl nodded and said, "Oh, go ahead. But you have to be quick, the homeroom teacher is already in the class."

After the girl finished speaking, she waved to Xin Tianyi and walked into Class 1 through the back door.

Xin Tianyi then realized that this was her classmate, but she didn't recognize her.

Is he your junior high school classmate?

Xin Tianyi had no impression at all.

Although the transfer was short, she had spent at least half a year at the Cotton Mill Middle School. She might not have known all the names of her classmates, but she knew their faces.

Xin Tianyi had no choice but to go upstairs and walk through the long corridor to reach Class 5.

The head teacher of Class 5 has also arrived and is standing on the podium looking down from above.

Xin Tianyi stood at the back door and looked inside. Almost all the students in Class 5 were there, but just by looking at their backs, Xin Tianyi couldn't find Bai Xue.

She could only walk forward, to the front door, and look at the head teacher of Class 5.

The teacher also looked at Xin Tianyi and asked, "Are you from Class 5? Why don't you come in?"

"Hello, teacher," Xin Tianyi said immediately, "I'm looking for Bai Xue from your class."

"Bai Xue?" The teacher paused for a moment, then took out the list and looked through it. Finally, he looked up at the students in the class and asked, "Who is Bai Xue?"

Xin Tianyi stood at the door and felt like her heart was about to jump out!

When Bai Xue comes out later, she will definitely interrogate her thoroughly.

Why didn't I contact her? Why didn't I go to school on the day the results were announced? Why didn't I come to visit her during such a long vacation...

Xin Tianyi heard footsteps and turned around happily.

A face that Xin Tianyi had never seen before was right in front of him.

"Classmate, are you looking for me?" the girl asked.

Xin Tianyi paused for a moment, then suddenly understood something.

"I'm looking for Bai Xue." Xin Tianyi said.

"I am Snow White."

Xin Tianyi looked at the person in front of him, unable to tell what he was feeling at the moment.

She first apologized, saying that she had recognized the wrong person, then looked at the other Bai Xue and walked into the classroom.

Same name and surname.

Xin Tianyi went downstairs silently.

She didn't even think that it was very likely that they had the same name!

Instead, she was convinced that it was the Snow White she knew!

Xin Tianyi's enthusiasm disappeared when he saw another Bai Xue in the world.

He walked down the stairs with his head lowered and walked into Class 1's classroom.

The class was almost full of students. Xin Tianyi entered from the back door, stood at the door looking inside, and wanted to find a seat to sit down.

"God's will! Xin Tianyi!"

It was the same round-faced girl from before. She turned her head and looked back, then pointed to the place beside her.

Xin Tianyi immediately walked over and sat down next to the round-faced girl.

"My name is Cheng Tianlan." The girl whispered to Xin Tianyi, "Don't you know me?"

Xin Tianyi was embarrassed to say that he didn't know him, so he could only smile apologetically at Cheng Tianlan.

"I'm in Class 4 at Cotton Mill Middle School," Cheng Tianlan said. "You don't know me, but I know you. You and Zhang Yang play together every day."

Xin Tianyi immediately said, "Yes. Do you also know Zhang Yang and the others?"

Cheng Tianlan smiled embarrassedly: "I know them, but they don't recognize me."

Xin Tianyi said, "It's okay, we'll get to know each other later."

Cheng Tianlan was so excited that the corners of his mouth were pulled behind his ears. He asked, "Really?"

Xin Tianyi nodded, put the study into the desk, and asked quietly: "Is the person standing on the podium our head teacher?"

"Yes, Wang Wei, the English teacher," Cheng Tianlan said. "I knew your English was good, but I didn't expect it to be this good. The teacher just read the list, and your name was first."

Xin Tianyi looked at Cheng Tianlan in confusion, and Cheng Tianlan said solemnly: "Yes, it is ranked according to grades."

On the first day of school, everyone is there to get acquainted with the teacher and to share a new book.

Everything was completed at around ten o'clock in the morning. Wang Wei stood on the podium and told everyone to go home. There would be no classes in the afternoon, so they should prepare well and start classes officially tomorrow.

The class schedule was also posted, and as soon as Wang Wei left, everyone rushed to copy the schedule.

Cheng Tianlan was too lazy to squeeze in, so he packed his new books and stuffed them into his schoolbag one by one.

After packing up, I looked at Xin Tianyi again. She was flipping through her textbooks and had no intention of leaving at all.

Cheng Tianlan asked, "Aren't you going home?"

Xin Tianyi shook his head: "I'll go to the dormitory later."

"You live on campus?" Cheng Tianlan looked at Xin Tianyi in surprise. "Don't your family work at the cotton mill? Why do you live on campus?"

"My grandparents own a cotton mill," Xin Tianyi said. "I've arranged for accommodation. I'll go back to visit them on weekends."

Cheng Tianlan lost his spirits immediately and sighed, "I was thinking I could go to and from school with you, but I didn't expect you to live on campus."

"It seems that most of the students in the class still live on campus." Xin Tianyi looked at everyone, "Look, no one has left."

"That should be it." Cheng Tianlan said, "Our school recruits more students from rural areas. Most of the students come from rural areas and can't go to school as a day student, so they have to live on campus. There are not many children from the city who pass the high school entrance exam, and they are all accepted by No. 1 Middle School."

Cheng Tianlan continued to ask: "So you eat in the cafeteria?"

"Yeah." Xin Tianyi said, "Let's go back to the dormitory after dinner. It's okay to go back now."

"Then I won't leave either." Cheng Tianlan sat next to Xin Tianyi and took out the book again. "Who did you go upstairs to look for just now? Did you find them?"

Xin Tianyi shook his head: "I'm not looking for someone with the same name."

"What a pity." Cheng Tianlan added: "But I'm here. Although we didn't know each other in junior high school, we went to the same school. I can be your good friend, right?"

Xin Tianyi smiled and said, "Yes."

Cheng Tianlan sat in the classroom for a while longer, flipping through a new book with Xin Tianyi. When she glanced at her watch, she hurriedly said to Xin Tianyi, "I have to go home first."

"Okay, see you tomorrow." Xin Tianyi waved goodbye to Cheng Tianlan.

Cheng Tianlan put on his schoolbag and walked out of the classroom, then quickly walked to the school gate.

Cheng Tiandong looked at her angrily.

Cheng Tianlan quickly quickened his pace, walked over, looked at Cheng Tiandong and asked, "What are you doing?"

"Your class just finished school?" Cheng Tiandong asked, "Didn't we just hand out books this morning and that's it?"

"That's your class!" Cheng Tianlan said.

Cheng Tiandong is a senior high school student and belongs to the first batch of students admitted to Experimental Middle School.

Their classroom was in the first building after entering the school gate, which only had their senior year class. The building behind it was where Cheng Tianlan was in her freshman year, and the building above it was where the sophomores were.

Cheng Tiandong pushed his bicycle and motioned for Cheng Tianlan to get on.

On the way, Cheng Tiandong reiterated that he wanted Cheng Tianlan to learn how to ride a bicycle.

"I can't wait for you like this every day." Cheng Tiandong said, "Why don't you learn to ride a bike by yourself? It would be so convenient if we each had one."

"Don't tell me." Cheng Tianlan sat in the back, leisurely, "Go talk to big brother. Big brother doesn't let me learn to ride a bike, saying it's unsafe. He asked you to take me to and from school every day, and you don't want to, so go talk to big brother. You can't talk to me."

When Cheng Tiandong heard Cheng Tianlan mention his elder brother, he fell silent.

He doesn't dare.

The author has something to say:
