Chapter 55: Sleepiness

Xie Mei opened her eyes, drowsy, and after waking up for a while, she asked, "Did I fall asleep again?"

When Xin Tianyi ran out of the classroom, her hair hung behind her ears. As she ran, the hair behind her ears spread out.
Wang Yuxiu had seen her a long time ago and waved to Xin Tianyi at the school gate.
Xin Tianyi ran to Wang Yuxiu in one breath and asked with a smile, "Grandpa, why are you here?"
Wang Yuxiu took the thermos from the handlebars and said, "I bought breakfast. Have you eaten already? I'm late."
"It's not late!" Xin Tianyi said immediately, "I just ate a small amount this morning, so I just ate an egg. Grandpa, did you bring me anything delicious?"
"An egg?" Wang Yuxiu frowned. "That won't do. You're growing and using your brain right now, so you need to eat more. If you don't eat well, I'll let you go home."
"Today," Xin Tianyi replied with a smile, "I just didn't eat much today. Maybe my stomach can predict that Grandpa will bring me something delicious today."
Wang Yuxiu was very pleased. Although he knew that Xin Tianyi said this on purpose to cheer him up, he was still very happy.
In the thermos was freshly cooked tofu pudding, sprinkled with cilantro and pickled mustard greens. In the bag were fried dough sticks. Wang Yuxiu took out a dough stick and poured a bowl of tofu pudding for Xin Tianyi, saying, "Eat it quickly! This tofu pudding is the best here."
Xin Tianyi stood at the school gate and ate a bowl of tofu pudding with fried dough sticks.
Wang Yuxiu was even happier when he saw her wolfing down her food. He smiled and said, "Come home for dinner tonight."
Xin Tianyi blinked: "My mother will be here tonight?"
"It'll be here this afternoon," Wang Yuxiu said. "You can come straight after class. I made a lot of buns and braised pork last night."
Xin Tianyi nodded: "Then I'll go after school."
"Shall I pick you up?" Wang Yuxiu asked.
"No need." Xin Tianyi said, "I can take the bus home by myself. It's very close."
"Okay. Then I'll cook for you at home." Wang Yuxiu saw that Xin Tianyi had finished eating, then he packed up the thermos and hung it on the handlebar again.
Xin Tianyi knew that the remaining breakfast was for her grandmother Xie Mei, so she asked, "How is my grandmother?"
Wang Yuxiu said, "I'm fine, but I've been feeling a bit sleepy lately."
"Are you sleepy?" Xin Tianyi asked quickly, "Have you been sleeping all the time?"
"Yes," Wang Yuxiu said, "but don't worry. As we age, we become less energetic and it's common to feel sleepy."
"Then we still need to go to the hospital for a checkup." Xin Tianyi said, "My mother happened to be back today, so I'll have her take grandma to the hospital for a checkup tomorrow."
"Your mother came back to look at houses." Wang Yuxiu said immediately: "Your mother is thinking about you. She wants you to have a home, a place to return to."
Xin Tianyi nodded: "I heard it from my mother."
"Okay." Wang Yuxiu saw that more and more people were coming. Everyone had eaten breakfast and came to school. He said to Xin Tianyi, "You should go back quickly. Class will start soon."
Xin Tianyi nodded and said goodbye to Wang Yuxiu.
After school in the afternoon, Xin Tianyi went to the school gate to take the bus.
Cheng Tianlan saw her and asked his brother Cheng Tiandong to ride over quickly.
"Are you going by car?" Cheng Tianlan asked Xin Tianyi. She jumped off her bicycle and said, "Then I'll go with you."
Seeing Cheng Tianlan jump off the bicycle, Cheng Tiandong quickly asked: "Are you going by car too?"
"Well, I'll go with Tianyi." Cheng Tianlan said, "Second brother, you go first."
After Cheng Tianlan finished speaking, his round eyes rolled around, and he suddenly remembered that they didn't know each other yet, so he took the initiative to introduce: "Tianyi, this is my second brother, Cheng Tiandong. He is studying in our school and is in his third year of high school."
