Chapter 65 Recalling the Encounter

Chapter 65 Recalling the Encounter

Bai Xue looked at Xin Tianyi and saw her smile, so she smiled too. She nodded slightly and said, "Okay."

"By the way, where have you been?" Xin Tianyi asked Bai Xue. "I couldn't find you anywhere. I even went to the repeat class at the Cotton Mill Junior High School, but you weren't there either. You don't know how sorry Teacher Liu was. He said you were just barely above getting into high school. If you could repeat a year, you'd definitely be fine next year."

Xin Tianyi said, slowing down his pace, looking at her and asking, "You didn't repeat the year, did you?"

Bai Xue raised the corners of her mouth slightly, a smile that was somewhat bitter. "I told you, I'm with my sister. My family's financial situation doesn't allow me to repeat my studies."

Xin Tianyi looked at Bai Xue. They faced each other, holding hands. Suddenly, Xin Tianyi smiled. "There are 360 careers in life, and not every career requires high school. No matter what you do, it's not easy to do well. Anyway, I believe in you and support your choice."

Bai Xue hummed, then smiled and looked up at a place not far away. She raised her hand and pointed, "Isn't that Zhang Yang and Wei Ran?"

Zhang Yang twirled the basketball between his fingers, teaching Wei Ran the key techniques as he went. Wei Ran listened intently, eager to learn and twirl it himself. After leaving Wei Ran's house, the two of them were so engrossed in their conversation about basketball that neither noticed the two girls approaching.

Bai Xue slapped Zhang Yang's shoulder hard and shouted, "Zhang Yang!"

Zhang Yang panicked and bent his fingers, causing the basketball to fall from his fingertips. He hurriedly looked at the person who had taken the photo of him, and it turned out to be Bai Xue.

"Bai Xue?" Zhang Yang smiled. "Why is it you?"

"What? You don't want to see me?" Bai Xue said, and then looked at Wei Ran. She smiled at Wei Ran as a greeting.

Wei Ran nodded at her, "Long time no see."

"Yeah, long time no see." Bai Xue replied.

Zhang Yang then looked at Xin Tianyi next to him and frowned: "Why are you wearing so little?"

Only then did Xin Tianyi realize that he had only come out to see Wang Fang off and was planning to go back immediately, so he didn't even wear a cotton jacket, only a turtleneck sweater.

She smiled embarrassedly and said, "I was wondering why it was so cold."

"Hurry home and get dressed," Zhang Yang said immediately. "We'll be waiting for you here. Don't worry. Run slowly."

Before Zhang Yang finished his mumbling, Xin Tianyi had already disappeared at the entrance of the alley. Turning back, he saw Bai Xue and Wei Ran both staring at him with thoughtful smiles on their faces.

Zhang Yang immediately looked into the distance with a serious expression and cleared his throat.

Wei Ran couldn't help but laugh and said, "Alright, alright, Bai Xue and I didn't say anything."

Zhang Yang immediately looked at Wei Ran and asked anxiously, "What did you say?"

"Guess!" Bai Xue immediately responded.

Zhang Yang looked at Bai Xue and then at Wei Ran, "When did you two become so well-coordinated?"

Bai Xue stretched out her hand and looked at Wei Ran with raised eyebrows. Wei Ran understood and also stretched out his right hand. The two of them clapped their hands vigorously.

At this moment, Xin Tianyi ran out, put on a cotton jacket, and finally felt warm.

When she came back a while later, she felt that the atmosphere among these people was not right. She stood between Zhang Yang and Bai Xue and asked, "What's wrong? What's wrong? Did I miss something good?"

Bai Xue and Wei Ran both laughed immediately. Bai Xue managed to hold back her laughter and nodded solemnly to Xin Tianyi: "You're right, I just missed the fun."

"What is it? Tell me." Xin Tianyi was very curious.

Wei Ran's cooperation was even more seamless this time. He pointed at Zhang Yang and said, "Ask him."

Xin Tianyi immediately looked at Zhang Yang: "What happened? Tell me quickly."

Zhang Yang stretched his neck and looked into the distance, deliberately avoiding looking at Xin Tianyi. No matter how she asked, Zhang Yang didn't say a word.

Finally, unable to bear the anxiety of Xin Tianyi jumping around him, he had to make an excuse: "They lied to you, and you really believed it!"

Xin Tianyi finally reacted and went over to grab Bai Xue and Wei Ran, "Alright, Wei Ran, you've changed. You even know how to play tricks on people!"

The four of them walked to look for Dabao. When they arrived at Dabao's house, they found that the door was locked.

Zhang Yang felt the most pity, thinking that after all the effort Bai Xue had made, Da Bao was not there. Yuan Da Bao had put so much effort into finding Bai Xue.

He suggested: "Let's talk in the courtyard. Dabao might be back soon."

The four of them sat down on a bench in the courtyard. Bai Xue and Xin Tianyi chatted, while Zhang Yang and Wei Ran played basketball in the small square.

I don’t know how long I waited, but Yuan Dabao and Wang Qinghua came back.

The two of them each had a bicycle, with Yuan Dabao riding in front. He first saw Zhang Yang and Wei Ran playing basketball, so he rang the bell.

After a series of bells rang, Yuan Dabao blew another long whistle.

Wang Qinghua frowned from behind, "Why don't you study hard?"

"Dabao is back!" Xin Tianyi stood up and waved to Yuan Dabao, "Dabao, look who's here!"

Only then did Yuan Dabao see Xin Tianyi, and then he saw Bai Xue sitting next to Xin Tianyi.

Later, when Yuan Dabao recalled the situation, he couldn't remember how he jumped off the bicycle.

They were drinking together at the time, and Wei Ran recalled that Yuan Dabao first lifted one leg and then jumped down. But Zhang Yang said Yuan Dabao simply stepped hard, swung the bike out, and landed on his own. Regardless, it was the most agile moment they had ever witnessed Yuan Dabao. It was truly a privilege to witness, and worth another drink.

Anyway, Yuan Dabao jumped off the bicycle in the most agile way in his life, and then ran towards Bai Xue quickly.

The bicycle behind him fell with a loud noise. Wang Qinghua, who was following behind, quickly braked his bicycle, then covered his pounding heart and looked at Yuan Dabao and the others.

Yuan Dabao ran over and looked at Bai Xue breathlessly.

He had a thousand words in his mind, but the moment he saw Bai Xue, he couldn't say a single word.

I didn't know what to say, or where to start. Anyway, she came and kept her promise.

Yuan Dabao could only smile, looking at Bai Xue, with the corners of his mouth almost stretched to his ears.

"Since we parted, I have recalled our meeting, and I have seen you in my dreams many times." [Note]
