Chapter 100 Airport Pickup

Chu Fang twitched the corner of his mouth.

I was at my wit's end with my extremely rebellious younger sister. I thought about teaching her a lesson, but then I remembered that my mother was about to arrive in Shanghai, so I stopped myself.

The younger sister, Chu Yi, is so rebellious, which is inseparable from her old mother. The latter dotes on her to the extreme, even more so than Chu Yi's parents dote on her.

In the past, when I disciplined Chu Yi, his parents were always around, but today... well, never mind.

Chu Yi asked several pointed questions in a row, then stopped abruptly, shrank back, and did not continue to ask. Chu Lao Er's face darkened; it would be impolite to ask any more questions.

The car was quiet. Zhou Qiong spoke slowly and deliberately, "Yiyi studies very diligently. She has made a study plan and is very self-disciplined. Compared to before, her grades have improved a lot, and her progress is much greater than mine..."

Upon hearing the praise, Chu Yi, who had been shrinking back, slowly straightened up, like a pine tree pointing straight to the sky.

"Ouch!"

She straightened up and stood up, only to bump her head on the roof of the car. Suddenly, she lost all composure, covered her head, and looked to Zhou Qiong for comfort.

Chu Fang felt utterly helpless about his silly younger sister.

They didn't ask any further questions.

Learning is a private matter. Even if his older brother nags him a lot, it's useless if Chu Yi has no desire to study.

Upon arrival at the destination, Shanghai Airport was bustling with people, shoulder to shoulder, all preparing to go home or travel.

Chu Fang protected the two of them as they squeezed into the airport, finally catching his breath when they reached the exit.

"Why hasn't my stepmother arrived yet?" After a while, Chu Yi's ADHD kicked in again, and he stretched his neck to look ahead and paced back and forth.

"Soon," he replied after checking the time.

Suddenly, the arrival announcement of a Chengdu flight rang out in the airport, and the three of them perked up.

A moment later, a middle-aged woman who looked to be in her thirties came out. She had a round face and slightly upturned eyebrows, and surprisingly, she had a playful and cute air about her.

The middle-aged woman was dragging her suitcase while sharing snacks with the child next to her, her face beaming with a happy smile.

Chu Fang waved to his mother upon finally seeing her.

I saw my mother and the kids eating snacks as they left the exit, preparing to walk out of the airport together.

He slapped his forehead.

So all that talk before boarding the plane was for nothing; my mind was entirely on the snacks and the kids.

He couldn't help but raise his voice and shout, "Mom, Mom, Mom~~~"

"Hey? Who's calling me?" Chu's mother, who was engrossed in snacks, suddenly heard a familiar voice. She stopped and saw that everyone around her was calling for her father and mother. She thought it was just a hallucination and prepared to walk away with her child.

Suddenly she felt someone tugging at her arm. Looking closely, she immediately beamed with joy, gave the remaining snacks to the child, and insisted, "Coca-Cola is delicious."

The child insisted, "Pepsi tastes good."

They were immediately led away by their parents.

"My goodness." The loud voice attracted the attention of everyone at the airport. Looking in the direction of the sound, they saw a middle-aged woman hugging a handsome man tightly and gently patting his back. "Mom hasn't seen you in so long. I missed you so much."

Chu Fang could clearly feel the gazes from all around him, but he was already used to it. His mother released him and looked him up and down: "As expected of my son, handsome! What brings you here?"

If I hadn't come, you would have gone home with that kid... Chu Fang took his mother's backpack: "I've come to pick you up."

"Good girl."

"Stepmother!" Chu Yi and Zhou Qiong finally squeezed through the crowd and called out excitedly.

"Oh my, Xiao Yi, you've become so beautiful after just a few months! I almost didn't recognize you!" Chu's mother greeted Chu Yi excitedly. The two of them were the only two members of the Chu family who were not mentally mature, and they had a very good relationship, often watching TV series and chatting together.

After exchanging a few pleasantries, Chu's mother turned her gaze to Zhou Qiong. She had already learned about Zhou Qiong's story from Chu Yi. Seeing the well-behaved and introverted Zhou Qiong, her sympathy was immediately overflowing. She stroked the poor girl, wanting to offer some comfort, but felt it was inappropriate to bring up someone else's sad story again.

He simply stroked the other person gently.

As the four walked out of the airport, Chu's mother exclaimed in surprise, "There are so many people!"

"Just got off work. There are a lot of tourists during the National Day holiday. There aren't usually this many people," Chu Fang explained. He walked to the car, took out the high-definition camera he had bought earlier, and gestured to his mother, "Mom, pose for some nice shots."

Chu Ma's first stop: Shanghai Airport. Content: Taking photos. Pose: Peace sign.

Chu's mother smiled at the camera, making a peace sign, with the bustling Shanghai airport in the background.

"That's great." After the photo was taken, looking at herself in the camera, Chu's mother smiled, then her attention turned to the Cadillac. "Sweetie, is this your car?"

"Yes." Chu Fang put his luggage in the trunk and nodded.

"Amazing!" Chu's mother gave a thumbs up.

After packing my things and sending a message to my father in Chu to let him know I had received the message, I left the airport.

Wow.

"Shanghai is so beautiful."

"One skyscraper after another."

"Hey, look, there are people doing live streams over there. I've done live streams before, but hardly anyone watches them. It's not interesting at all."

“... ..."

Chu's mother rarely left her province in her life, and even the number of times she left her hometown could be counted on one hand. Suddenly arriving in Shanghai, everything before her filled her with curiosity, interest, and astonishment...

Chu Fang didn't drive fast, but slowly, as Chu Yi and Zhou Qiong introduced the local customs, attractions, and amusement parks of Shanghai to their mother...

They had been in Shanghai for more than three months and had a certain understanding of the metropolis.

Night had fallen, and the streets of Shanghai were packed with people, but Chu's mother didn't feel bored or annoyed. Instead, she admired the brightly lit city with her eyes, occasionally taking out her high-definition camera to take pictures as souvenirs.

Upon arriving at the Bund, the car turned a corner and entered a quiet street. Chu's mother looked up at the towering residential complex, exquisitely built, where the people coming and going were all extraordinary, and their cars were obviously luxurious.

The car stopped at the entrance of Zhonghai Mingyuan. I briefly registered Chu's mother's personal information with the security guard and emphasized that I should pay attention to my mother's movements and notify him if she left the community.

Even in her small hometown, Chu's mother was prone to getting lost, let alone in Shanghai.

The security guards saluted solemnly, assuring him that he could rest assured. Chu Fang then gave each of the security guards a National Day red envelope and left. Before leaving, Chu's mother also saluted, leaving the security guards stunned.

After entering the residential area, I didn't rush upstairs. Instead, I went to the supermarket first to buy some daily necessities for my mother: toothbrush, toothpaste, towel, slippers...
