Chapter 267 Awkwardness

Chu Fang looked at the three people beside him.

This must be the person who came to his company to raise funds.

A middle-aged man, a young man in a suit, and a female assistant—despite their mature attire, they all exuded a sense of naivety.

The female assistant thought for a moment, then smiled and said, "I heard that President Chu is a young and handsome man, rich and wealthy. If I really can't persuade him, I might as well offer myself up for the sake of the company's interests."

As if sensing someone nearby, she gave Chu Fang a wink: "Handsome, add me on WeChat, let's have a good chat in private. I have an urge to learn from you for an hour."

Chu Fang smiled and shook his head.

"Don't talk about that." The middle-aged man frowned slightly.

"Brother-in-law, I was just kidding." The female assistant smiled.

Upon reaching their floor, the three straightened their clothes in the elevator. Chu Fang stepped out first, and the three paused, exchanging glances. The female assistant said, "He's an employee of Fangzheng Investment Co., Ltd.? After what we just said, he should be alright, right?"

The middle-aged man said in a deep voice, "Speak less."

The three of them immediately left the elevator. As soon as they stepped out, they saw the receptionist of Fangzheng Investment Co., Ltd. bow to Chu Fang and greet him, "Hello, President Chu."

"Good morning." Chu Fang stepped in, but after a few steps, he took a few steps back, and when he reached Wei Caixia, he asked, "Sister Wei, are you pregnant?"

Wei Caixia nodded: "Mm."

"I'll have Rong Shunji treat us to dinner another day." Chu Fang smiled. One of their four friends had finally had a child, and the family line had started growing. This was something to celebrate.

Compared to Chu Fang's single-mindedness, Wen Xiangbing's maturity, and Shao Liang's introversion, the group originally thought that Rong Shunji, who was cheerful and had strong social skills, would be the last to get married. However, they didn't expect that marriage would happen before the other three, and now they all have children.

It's incredible when you think about it.

Chu Fang said, "Do the work if you can, and don't worry about it if you can't. If you want to take maternity leave, just tell Kang Bo."

Wei Caixia nodded: "Okay."

Chu Fang went into the company.

The receptionists finally realized what was happening, and touching Wei Caixia's belly, they said with some envy:

"How many months has it been? Why didn't you tell us?"

"It wasn't long before the diagnosis was made."

"Why are you still working? You might as well take a vacation."

"That's right, that's right. President Chu is your husband's good friend. Even if you take ten months of maternity leave, President Kang won't dare to say anything."

Wei Caixia smiled and said, "There's no need for that for now."

Despite having a connection with Chu Fang, which meant that no one in the company, not even Kang Bo, dared to speak ill of her, she never thought of relying on Chu Fang. She still went to get off work and left work on time, and worked overtime as usual, without exception.

She didn't want to ruin her husband's relationship with Chu Fang because of herself.

The three people in the elevator were almost frozen in place. Only after Chu Fang's figure disappeared did they slowly come back to their senses and look at each other.

It was obvious that the young man was none other than their long-awaited major investor, President Chu.

But thinking about the conversation in the elevator, the middle-aged man's forehead wrinkled, the young man in the suit covered his mouth, and the female assistant's lips twitched.

Damn it!

I never expected to end up flirting with such a big spender.

She felt a strong sense of unease.

The middle-aged man said in a deep voice, "Don't worry, I don't think President Chu will care."

Chu Fang entered the company, and the employees greeted him respectfully. Just as he sat down, Kang Bo walked in, placed the documents on the table, and said, "President Chu, those are the financing company's documents."

He immediately reported the details of that company to Chu Fang, and also provided the information, opinions and suggestions from his own company's investigation.

A short while later, the receptionist announced that the financing target had arrived, and the two of them went to the conference room one after the other.

As expected, it was indeed the same three people from the elevator.

Upon seeing Chu Fang, the middle-aged man stepped forward to greet him: "Mr. Chu, I'm so sorry, you must have found this amusing."

This is the company's boss, An Hongda.

"It's nothing." Chu Fang smiled and glanced furtively at the female assistant, who was also secretly watching him. Their eyes met, and she immediately looked away.

After a few brief pleasantries, Chu Fang sat at the head of the table, Kang Bo sat on his right, and An Hongda sat on his left. An Hongda then described his company to Chu Fang, mainly reminiscing about the past, talking about the present, and looking forward to the future.

Before they could finish speaking, Chu interrupted An Hongda: "Um... Can you speak in Chinese? I have a low level of education and can't understand mixed Chinese and English."

An Hongda had experience working for foreign companies, and he would occasionally throw in a few English words when he spoke, such as 'presentation, workload, objective,' which left Chu Fang completely confused.

I always have to think about what that English word means, translate it in my head, and then I miss the next sentence.

Similar phenomena had occurred at Founder Investment Co., Ltd. before, but after Chu Fang explained it once, no one dared to speak English in front of him anymore.

Each of them spoke Chinese fluently and clearly.

I was thinking that you guys speak English just fine, even without it.

An Hongda's face showed a hint of embarrassment, but it quickly disappeared: "I'm sorry, President Chu."

He then proceeded to introduce the company's situation.

Actually, Chu Fang didn't quite understand. He wasn't an investment professional and had only been working for less than a year, so his understanding of society was unclear. However, he could tell that An Hongda was mostly talking about the company's future development. With lofty goals and a grand blueprint, he was bound to achieve great things in the future.

Commonly known as "drawing a pie in the sky"!

About half an hour later, after finishing his speech, Chu Fangxuan saw the three of them out of the company. An Hongda stopped and said, "President Chu, I am truly sorry about the elevator incident. I hope you can forgive me."

"I forgot," Chu Fang replied with a smile. After seeing the three off, he turned to Kang Bo and said, "Find an appropriate time to subtly inform them that we are not investing."

Kang Bo nodded without asking why.

The company belongs to Chu Fang. He made a decision, and even if it's wrong, Kang Bo has to follow it.

After finishing his business, Chu Fang stretched and then left the company.

He simply couldn't stand being at his own company. Even though he was doing nothing and had a well-equipped computer in the office, he still wanted to go back to his studio to slack off, using that computer that would lag like a PowerPoint presentation even when playing a simple game.

Dude, that's the feeling I get from playing this game.

After going downstairs, he raised an eyebrow.

The three men from before hadn't left; they stood below, seemingly waiting for him. Upon seeing him, they quickly approached. The middle-aged man said, "Mr. Chu, I hope you can give me time to explain. We really didn't mean to..."

"Go back and wait for news," Chu Fang said with a smile, driving away from the parking lot.

Three people remain, leaving you feeling dejected.

The female assistant lowered her head: "Brother-in-law, I'm sorry, I messed it up."

The middle-aged man slowly withdrew his gaze and remained silent.

Adults understand what 'go back and wait for news' means.
