Chapter 12: Let Me See Your Hand

Chapter 12: Show me your hand

Meng Tang was sitting on the steps of the basketball court and subconsciously looked up when he heard footsteps.

A bright color flashed before her eyes, and then Wei Chuan sat down next to her and put the thing on her knees.

Meng Tang supported it lightly, glanced sideways and asked, "What is it?"

"I bought you dinner." Wei Chuan said, "How can you play basketball on an empty stomach?"

Meng Tang was slightly stunned. She didn't expect Wei Chuan to buy her dinner.

"What are you looking at?" Wei Chuan unscrewed the purified water and took a sip, "Eat quickly."

Meng Tang opened the bag and found sakura rice balls, yogurt, and a small box of tomatoes of different colors.

Wei Chuan watched Meng Tang pick out the red ones and eat them, then laughed, "Is there a gap between the old and the new?"

Meng Tang was amused by his sudden joke: "The green one is too sweet, and the yellow one is not very tasty."

"Give it to me." Wei Chuan stretched out his hand, "I want to eat it."

Meng Tang gave him the remaining tomato and slowly finished the yogurt.

There was no trash can here, so Wei Chuan unfolded the plastic bag and motioned Meng Tang to throw the yogurt bottle in.

Seeing that she threw it with her left hand, she asked, "How's your hand?"

Meng Tang thought he was anxious for a small wood carving and smiled, "It's much better now. I can start carving in half a month. It won't delay your work."

"Put your hand out so I can see it."

"Ah?" Meng Tang was stunned.

"What? Stretch it out."

His expression and tone were so righteous that Meng Tang subconsciously spread out his palms.

The remaining calluses have become thinner, but they are still different from the soft hands of ordinary girls.

Meng Tang just opened his palms slightly, as if he didn't want Wei Chuan to see his ugly face.

"Will it leave a scar?" Wei Chuan's expression didn't show any abnormality, he just frowned.

"No," Meng Tang shook his head, "Doctor Wei prescribed an ointment for me."

Wei Chuan put the garbage bag on the ground beside him and asked, "Can I practice with the ball?"

"Sure." Meng Tang demonstrated his grip, "Look."

"Come on, I'll practice with you for an hour." Wei Chuan took the ball out of his bag. "Is Wang Jue giving you any more trouble?"

"No," Meng Tang suddenly chuckled, "He walked around me."

Wei Chuan snorted and laughed: "He broke up with his girlfriend a while ago and took his anger out on you. Now it seems that he deserved the breakup."

So that's how it is, Meng Tang thought maliciously: It's a good division.

"Come here," Wei Chuan waved to Meng Tang, "Do you remember what I taught you before?"

Meng Tang felt guilty. Remembering it was one thing, but doing it was another.

Wei Chuan understood her expression and said jokingly, "If you had devoted even a fraction of your woodcarving talent to sports, you wouldn't be in this situation."

Meng Tang: "Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses."

Being talented in something is a gift from God.

There was only one street lamp standing in the basketball court, and Meng Tang's elongated shadow was completely covered by another figure.

Wei Chuan came behind her and said softly, "Let's find the rhythm first."

Meng Tang controlled the ball at her waist and abdomen, and Wei Chuan explained the details to her for a while.

It is mandatory for art students to take physical education as an elective, but the exam is not very strict. As long as the movements are smooth and you can make three layups with both hands, you will be fine.

Dribbling from the center line to a layup with his right hand, picking up the ball and dribbling it back to a layup with his left hand, the whole set of movements was quite strenuous for Meng Tang.

There is no limit to the electives at Z, but sports electives are required in freshman and sophomore years. Even if basketball is not available, there are still football and volleyball.

With a "bang", the basketball hit the basket, circled around the edge and fell to the ground.

Wei Chuan was amused and stepped forward to support her back. "It can even go around in a circle and still be out of the frame. I'm contradicting you. How about giving it a couple of punches?"

It was too quiet here, his voice was so close, the atmosphere around the two of them almost merged into one. Meng Tang was not used to it and subconsciously wanted to move forward.

"Don't move," Wei Chuan held her wrist and gestured with the ball at her fingertips, "Move the ball with your fingers, and use your wrist and forearm to exert force."

Meng Tang tried to follow his rhythm, and the basketball fell into the broken net.

"In?" She turned around and looked up at Wei Chuan.

His mouth was slightly open and his eyes were excited.

Wei Chuan lowered his head and met her eyes.

It was quiet and dim here, and the light vaguely outlined the contours of two figures.

The two were close to each other, their breaths blending together. Meng Tang suddenly turned around and ran to catch the basketball, the sound of which was gradually fading.

Without even turning her head, she whispered, "I'll practice on my own."

"Yeah." Wei Chuan took a step back.

In the distant bushes, several people looked at each other, and then—

"Fuck, this place is like a love sanctuary. Look at the hazy light, the paired shadows, and the thumping basketball."

"So he's so gentle when teaching girls basketball? Then what about the usual yelling at us?"

"You're such a loser."

"Go away."

"Our brother Chuan is quite good at romance. Is this ball for hitting? It's clearly flirting, right?"

"Do you think we should go over and scare them?"

"No, no, if you provoke us, we'll all get beaten up."

"Retreat, retreat, retreat."

"Wait a minute, I haven't seen who the girl is yet?"

"You weren't there that day, right? It seems she was from the Academy of Fine Arts, her name was Meng Tang. She went there to ask our brother Chuan to be her model. She originally refused, but then she agreed."

"So she is the one that Chuan-ge confessed to?"

"Nine out of ten, how else would he have the time? Have you ever seen him teach a girl how to play basketball?"

"Hurry up and leave before we get discovered."

After practicing for an hour, Meng Tang passed the ball to Wei Chuan.

Wei Chuan took the ball, took out a wet tissue from his bag and handed it to Meng Tang: "Wipe your hands."

"Thank you." Meng Tang took it and used two to wipe it clean.

A bottle of mineral water was brought to him, and Wei Chuan reminded him, "Drink slowly. I'll take you back to the dormitory after you finish."

"I'll go back by myself." Meng Tang was embarrassed to bother, "It would save you the trouble of taking a detour."

Wei Chuan: "It's dark here. I'll take you to Building 5."

Meng Tang was silent for a moment. Wei Chuan looked over and saw that she was in a daze.

"What are you thinking about?"

Meng Tang recalled his first impression of him and smiled, "My opinion of you has changed a bit."

"Hmm?" Wei Chuan bent down to pick up the garbage bag. "Changed? That means you had a bad impression of me before."

"Well……"

It's not appropriate to talk about their first encounter, it's too embarrassing.

Wei Chuan obviously thought of it too. He scratched his head and explained weakly:

"I really didn't mean to do that. I didn't expect your box to break when it was knocked against it."

"Let's go, let's not talk about this anymore." Meng Tang's mind was filled with the bra hanging in his palm.

Wei Chuan threw the bag over his shoulder and followed.

Fortunately, Building No. 5 was not far away, and the two walked one after the other for about ten minutes.

Meng Tang turned around and was about to say goodbye to Wei Chuan when a long shadow suddenly emerged from under the camphor tree beside him.

"Ah!" Meng Tang screamed briefly in fright.

"What's wrong?" Wei Chuan also shuddered.

Meng Tang tilted his head to look over, and breathed a sigh of relief when he saw someone.

It's scary to be here late at night.

Wei Chuan turned around and saw a pretty girl.

"Are you okay?" He didn't move a step, and even his body was leaning sideways.

The girl stepped forward, pouted her lips, glanced at Meng Tang, and asked softly, "Senior, are you in love?"

Wei Chuan: "...whether I talked about it or not, does it have anything to do with you?"

It was a confession at first glance, and he didn't want to attract some romantic interest that he didn't like.

Meng Tang didn't want to be misunderstood, so he raised his hand and pointed behind him: "Then I'll leave?"

"Wait a minute." Wei Chuan stopped her, "I'm not confessing to you, why are you hiding?"

Meng Tang: “…”

Could it be that she stayed?
