Chapter 161 Who the hell is he?

Chapter 161 Who the hell is he?

Meng Tang washed his hands after eating the ice cream.

Wei Chuan knocked on her window and tilted his head to look in: "Are you done eating?"

Meng Tang walked over with a smile: "Why don't you come in?"

Wei Chuan saw her pull a book from the bookshelf and asked, "Aren't you taking a nap?"

We still have to wait for the sludge to seep through. Meng Tang is fine for now and said, "I'll go in and read a book. Maybe I'll fall asleep soon."

Wei Chuan glanced at the title of her book - "Buddha Sculpture"

Unable to appreciate it at all, he said, "You go to sleep first, I'm going out for a while."

"What are you doing out there?" Meng Tang glanced out the window. "It's so hot, why don't you come in and rest?"

Wei Chuan said: "The old man asked me to buy him something."

Meng Tang looked at him suspiciously: "What are you buying?"

"Yesterday he was playing chess with an old man and lost a cannon. I'm going to buy him a complete set."

Meng Tang: "...Why doesn't he carve one himself?"

Wei Chuan: "...Isn't it more convenient to buy it now?"

Meng Tang said "Oh": "Okay, then go ahead."

Wei Chuan hooked his finger at her: "Come here, give me a kiss."

Meng Tang looked towards the courtyard, a little embarrassed: "Grandpa is still here."

"I can't see." Wei Chuan whispered, "Come here quickly."

Meng Tang walked over, Wei Chuan smiled triumphantly, grabbed her neck and kissed her.

The old man coughed violently twice.

Meng Tang pushed Wei Chuan away violently. Wei Chuan smiled triumphantly and turned and ran away.

Meng Tang closed the window silently.

Sitting in the study all the time would make his back and waist sore, so Meng Tang simply took the book into the bedroom.

After looking for a while, she closed her eyes.

Wei Chuan didn't come back until three in the afternoon. When he came back, he brought a chess set and two bottles of Moutai.

Sister Fang had just finished her rest and came to the central courtyard to wash up and prepare dinner.

Seeing what Wei Chuan was holding, he was surprised for a moment: "Old man can't drink, why did you buy this?"

"Uncle, don't you want to drink?" Wei Chuan said.

Sister Fang was stunned. She didn't expect that the wine was bought for Meng Huaizhang, and it was such a good one.

Meng Yuchun raised his eyes and asked, "Who told you to buy such good wine?"

Wei Chuan groaned, "I just happened to come across a specialty store. Sister Fang, put your things away. I'll go check on Meng Tang. Is she still asleep?"

Meng Yuchun said, "It's not too late. Go wake her up to save her a headache and keep her awake at night."

"Okay." Wei Chuan responded and pushed open the door of Meng Tang's room attentively.

As expected, Meng Tang was still sleeping, snoring like a pig, with his mouth slightly open. The book next to him was stuck on the bed. Wei Chuan took it and looked at it. It was still the first page, and he suddenly chuckled.

He sat down on the edge of the bed and pinched Meng Tang's face.

Meng Tang grabbed his wrist and muttered with his eyes closed: "You're so annoying."

"Get up." Wei Chuan said, "The sun is about to set."

Meng Tang sat up suddenly, but felt dizzy.

"Don't worry, don't worry." Wei Chuan supported her, "I'm just teasing you, it's just past three o'clock."

Meng Tang suddenly deflated and leaned against him.

Wei Chuan bent down and kissed her, then hugged her and sighed, "It's so comfortable living in your house. I kind of understand why you like staying at home."

There are always fresh green vegetables in the vegetable garden, there are no complicated interpersonal relationships, and Sister Fang is busy making all kinds of food all day long... It's so comfortable!

"You like it?"

"like."

Meng Tang let go of him and deliberately said, "I like you enough now. When do you plan to go back?"

Wei Chuan said, "The day after tomorrow."

Meng Tang nodded: "You've been staying here for the past few days. Do your parents have any objections?"

"Don't I call them every night?" Wei Chuan said, "Besides, my dad is very busy, my mom hangs out with her friends all day and is rarely home during the day, and my grandma is out of town for the summer vacation. Why should I go back? I might as well stay at your house."

Meng Tang rolled his eyes at him: "You make excuses every day."

Wei Chuan put his arm around her shoulders and said, "Why do you want to get rid of me so badly? I'm going to train right away, and we won't be able to see each other for nearly a month. Do you want to kill me?"

"Can't we still video chat?" Meng Tang got out of bed, picked up the hairband that had fallen on the bed and used it to tie her hair.

Wei Chuan took advantage of her hands fiddling with her hair and hugged her waist.

"What's the point of the video? You can't touch or kiss it."

After Meng Tang finished tying his hair, he touched his short hair and asked, "Is this what you think about all day?"

"It's so uncomfortable." Wei Chuan sighed, "I haven't left yet."

Just as Meng Tang was about to say something to comfort them, Sister Fang knocked on the door: "Come out quickly, both of you. I made lotus root pastries."

Wei Chuan let go of Meng Tang and walked out of the room.

Sister Fang also prepared some jasmine Longjing tea, and the few of them hid in the shade and started their wonderful afternoon tea time.

Just then, Meng Huaizhang called back and said that he had something to do in the evening and would not be back for dinner.

Wei Chuan and the old man looked at each other and remained silent.

Sister Fang prepared dinner early and served it before six o'clock.

Wei Chuan didn't take Meng Tang out for a walk tonight, for fear that she would be bitten by mosquitoes again.

After it got dark, the two sat under the crabapple tree and chatted.

Wei Chuan took a palm-leaf fan and slowly fanned Meng Tang. At the end of the conversation, the two of them stopped talking and looked at the starry sky above their heads in tacit understanding.

Meng Tang remembered that when he was a child, both the moon and the stars were very bright, but now they are rarely seen.

Even at night, the air was still filled with heat waves.

Wei Chuan patted Meng Tang's legs with a palm-leaf fan and said, "Hurry up and take a shower."

Meng Tang responded, stood up, took his clothes and went to the bathroom.

After washing, the two said good night to each other.

Wei Chuan pointed to the door and said, "Go back to your room first. I'll leave the door open for your dad."

"Okay." Meng Tang turned around and went back to the room.

About an hour later, Meng Huaizhang returned to the house.

As soon as he stepped into the side door, Wei Chuan said quietly, "Uncle, you're back."

Meng Huaizhang staggered and almost fell, and Wei Chuan reached out to help him.

"Be careful."

Meng Huaizhang was almost frightened to death by him. After a moment's pause, he asked, "Why are you here?"

Wei Chuan said nonchalantly, "Waiting for you at the door."

Meng Huaizhang asked, "Where's Sister Fang?"

Wei Chuan said, "Sister Fang has been busy all day, so I let her go to bed first."

Meng Huaizhang said, "Then you should go to sleep too."

"Sister Fang left some food for you, Uncle, have you eaten yet?" Wei Chuan locked the door. "If not, you can go to the kitchen. I bought two bottles of Moutai today. Grandpa doesn't drink, so I wonder if you would like some."

Meng Huaizhang's eyes turned: "What dishes did Sister Fang leave?"

Wei Chuan smiled and said, "It's a snack to go with the wine."

Meng Huaizhang coughed lightly: "I'm alone..."

"I'll go with you." Wei Chuan said, "But I don't drink. I'll pour you some wine."

"OK."

Meng Huaizhang and Wei Chuan entered the middle courtyard together, but he did not go to the kitchen. He went straight to the window of Meng Tang's bedroom.

The light inside was still dimly on. Meng Huaizhang took a look and went to the kitchen.

Wei Chuan was a little touched for a moment. He wanted to see if Meng Tang was asleep, right?

The appetizers were on the table, and Wei Chuan took the wine and wine glass and went to the dining table.

Meng Huaizhang looked at the dishes and smiled: "Sister Fang still knows what I like."

Wei Chuan poured him a glass of wine and asked, "Uncle, what were you doing under Meng Tang's window just now?"

"I want to see if she's asleep?" Meng Huaizhang said a little embarrassedly, "She doesn't like to pay attention to me, so I just want to see."

Wei Chuan saw some sadness between his brows, and a complicated emotion arose in his heart.

It seemed like his concern was not fake, but fate played a trick on him and it was delayed for so many years.

Once people get old, everything starts to give in.

I no longer have the ambition of my youth, nor do I have the desire to make trouble.

What's more, he has been in there for so many years, and any temper he had has been worn away.

The old man told him that Meng Huaizhang had a bad temper, but after Wei Chuan had been in contact with him for so many days, he felt that this man had no temper and was cowardly.

He walked with his back hunched, as if he didn't dare look at anyone.

After two or three glasses of wine, Wei Chuan asked again, "Has Meng Tang never called you yet?"

Meng Huaizhang nodded: "If you don't want to scream, then don't scream. It's nothing."

Wei Chuan laughed: "Do you want her to call you?"

Meng Huaizhang nodded. "When she was little, she was as pretty as a piece of jade. All the neighbors praised her. She would call me daddy softly, and I would play with her for a few minutes."

When a few minutes were up, he threw her to Sister Fang and continued to be as carefree as he wanted.

Later, when Meng Tang grew up and became sensible, he stopped getting close to him.

He was away from home all day, and when he came back, he had been set up and locked up.

Nine years, a full nine years. He must have regretted it, but regret was of no use. He was left with an old man and a young girl to depend on each other.

The more Meng Huaizhang thought about it, the more uncomfortable he felt, and he drank too much without realizing it.

Wei Chuan patted Meng Huaizhang on the shoulder and asked in a low voice: "Li Hanjin has also been with Meng Tang for several years. Are you very grateful to him?"

"Hmm..." Meng Huaizhang responded, raised his head from the table, and looked at Wei Chuan with a vague look, "He is a good man."

Wei Chuan sneered: "What did he give you? He is a good person. I even gave you Maotai to drink. Am I a good person?"

"You..." Meng Huaizhang paused, "You've been nice to me too."

Still having a bit of conscience, Wei Chuan complained in his heart and asked, "What has Li Hanjin been doing recently? Does he come to see you often?"

Meng Huaizhang nodded: "He is busy with studio matters."

"Is that all?" Wei Chuan frowned.

"Not only that." Meng Huaizhang said, "He talked about Meng Tang."

Sure enough, Wei Chuan sneered: "What did he say about Meng Tang?"

Meng Huaizhang said: "I told you about you and Meng Tang."

"And about me, there must be something fishy going on, right?" Wei Chuan took Meng Huaizhang's wine glass away. "What did Li Hanjin say?"

Meng Huaizhang didn't ask for a drink. He rubbed the skin of the peanuts and threw a peanut into his mouth.

"He said that you come from a wealthy family and Meng Tang is not worthy of you."

"Fuck." Wei Chuan was really angry. "Who the hell does he think he is? Does he have any say in what happens between Meng Tang and me? He really thinks he's a piece of cake."

Meng Huaizhang waved his hand: "He just said that he was afraid that your parents would not like Meng Tang, that they were not a good match, and that he was worried about Meng Tang."

"Oh, you really are getting more innocent as you get older." Wei Chuan laughed angrily, "Li Hanjin has evil intentions, wake up quickly."

On the table, Meng Huaizhang's cell phone rang.

Wei Chuan handed him his phone: "Here, someone is looking for you."

Meng Huaizhang tried hard to keep his eyelids open and answered the phone: "Hello."

"Lao Meng, let's have dinner together tomorrow night?"

Meng Huaizhang said: "Eating is fine, but playing cards is not."

Wei Chuan was stunned. Playing cards?
