Chapter 17 The boy who likes you was not brought back
Meng Tang couldn't describe his interactions with Wei Chuan to others, but fortunately Xie Lingyin didn't ask any further questions.
Half an hour later, the taxi stopped at a narrow alley.
Xie Lingyin glanced outside. The house had white walls, green tiles, flying eaves and animals, and two thick doors, just like the mansions in TV dramas.
"Are you sure this isn't a scenic spot?" Xie Lingyin asked Meng Tang. "Is this your home?"
Meng Tang took their bags out of the car and said, "It's just an antique mansion, built in the 1990s. We were rich before, but my father ruined us and only this old house is left."
Xie Lingyin said, "Oh," "It looks so big."
Meng Tang led her up the stairs. "There are three entrances and five courtyards. Grandpa and I live in the middle courtyard. He lives in the main house, and I live in the east room. The front courtyard is for entertaining guests, and the backyard has been converted into a workshop. The remaining empty rooms have also been filled with wood."
After saying this, Meng Tang knocked on the copper ring of the door.
The door opened, and a plain middle-aged woman smiled. "My timing was perfect. I just ran over and you knocked on the door."
"Sister Fang," Meng Tang greeted, then turned and invited Xie Lingyin forward. "This is my classmate, her last name is Xie."
"The old man said, come in quickly."
Xie Lingyin nodded slightly: "Sorry to bother you."
They didn't meet anyone along the way, so Xie Lingyin asked curiously, "How many nannies do you have at home when you keep such a big house so clean?"
Before Meng Tang could answer, Sister Fang interrupted, "It's just me."
"Ah?" Xie Lingyin was stunned. "Are you alone?"
"Sister Fang, stop teasing her." Meng Tang laughed and turned to explain to Xie Lingyin, "Many people have wanted to be my apprentices. Grandpa accepts them all. He doesn't charge tuition. All they have to do is clean the house. But over the years, not a single one has managed to stay."
Xie Lingyin: "Why?"
Meng Tang: "In this line of work, talent and hard work are both indispensable. My grandfather is a teacher. He is not strict, but demanding."
"What are you whispering about me behind my back?"
After passing through the hanging flower gate, an old man with slightly hunched shoulders, a broad forehead and a straight nose blocked the way.
"Are you Master Meng?" Xie Lingyin stepped forward excitedly.
"What master? Just call me that, Xiaotang." Meng Yuchun was not arrogant. From his appearance, he didn't look like a master. He was just an ordinary old man.
Xie Lingyin: "Then I'll shamelessly call you Grandpa Meng."
Meng Yuchun nodded, then turned and joked with his granddaughter, "Didn't you bring back the little boy who likes you?"
Xie Lingyin opened her mouth slightly. The old man also knew?
"Grandpa." Meng Tang glanced at Xie Lingyin, who was watching the show. "Can you please be serious? I already said we're classmates."
"Okay, okay, then let your classmates come over to play tomorrow. You two can eat first, and then go to rest. The room has been cleaned for you."
Meng Tang snorted, "I understand."
The old man takes care of his health and doesn’t eat after six o’clock.
Only Meng Tang and Xie Lingyin were in the restaurant. Xie Lingyin couldn't help but ask, "A boy who likes you? Huh? Meng Tang? Are you—"
"Eat." Meng Tang interrupted her shyly, "Look at these spicy dishes that Sister Fang prepared for you. Try them and see if you like them."
Xie Lingyin tutted, "You're so stingy. Tell me what's wrong."
Meng Tang: "It would be so embarrassing if there is no result in the future, so I'd better not say it."
Xie Lingyin: "Okay, okay, just hide it."
After getting away with it, Meng Tang breathed a sigh of relief.
After taking a shower and lying on the bed, Meng Tang took out his cell phone and flipped through it.
"What are you looking at?" Xie Lingyin asked, "You're usually asleep at this time. Aren't you going to turn off the lights?"
Meng Tang replied: "Wait a minute, I'll send a message to Wei Chuan. Aren't they coming over tomorrow? I'll tell him the address."
"Oh." Xie Lingyin couldn't help but smile like an aunt, and quickly gossiped with Xu Heqing.
Wei Chuan hadn't slept yet, having just finished dinner with Xu Heqing.
After receiving Meng Tang’s WeChat message, I immediately replied “OK”.
Meng Tang: [Don't bring anything with you. We have everything we need.]
Wei Chuan: [How did you know that Xu Heqing and I went shopping?]
Meng Tang: [Lingyin and I had already showered and were about to go to bed, but you two had just finished your meal. I guessed that.]
No normal person would visit someone empty-handed.
Wei Chuan: [I've already bought it, do I still need to take the high-speed train back home?]
Meng Tang: [Okay, then what time will you come tomorrow morning? ]
Wei Chuan: [Around ten o'clock, not too early or too late.]
Meng Tang said good night to him and chatted with Xie Lingyin for half the night before going to sleep.
At eight o'clock the next day, Sister Fang came in and knocked on the door.
Meng Tang got up and changed his clothes from the closet.
Xie Lingyin sat up on the bed, trying to wake herself up. She glanced at her closet and exclaimed, "Wow!" "The clothes in your closet are so beautiful! Why don't you wear them at school?"
Meng Tang looked back and said, "It was made by a tailor shop two blocks away. I wore their clothes when I was a child because they were loose and comfortable."
The tailor is not a master, he just makes everyday clothes, always keeping up with the times, and has all kinds of fabrics.
Meng Tang was wearing a gradient green high-count ramie suit, with her long hair half tied up, looking casual and natural.
Seeing Xie Lingyin staring at her, she tilted her head and said, "I have some new ones in my closet. Can I find you a set?"
Xie Lingyin shook her head. "No, no, this kind of clothing isn't really suitable for me."
Meng Tang has an oriental appearance and is much more suitable for her.
After getting up and washing up, Meng Tang and Xie Lingyin ate breakfast leisurely.
The old man came out from the backyard, found a recliner and sat down, then asked Meng Tang, "When will your classmates come over?"
Meng Tang glanced at the gate and said, "It's almost done."
Meng Yuchun: "Sister Fang bought a bunch of vegetables, can you help organize them?"
"Okay." Meng Tang responded.
She can't cook, but she can pick vegetables.
"Forget it." Sister Fang teased Meng Tang, "Let her pick some dishes. Put the edible ones in the trash can and the inedible ones in the basin. Let her go and greet the guests."
The old man laughed and said, "Xiaotang, did you hear that? Sister Fang dislikes you."
Meng Tang finished a bowl of Tremella soup, pulled Xie Lingyin up and left: "Sister Fang, I'll take Lingyin to the front yard."
Meng Yuchun wanted to laugh at this: "Learning wood carving is so hard, but you don't even frown. You hide here and there just to pick some vegetables."
Meng Tang made a face and walked out of the middle courtyard.
There is a small exhibition hall in the front yard, which contains all the sculptures that Meng Tang has made since he was a child. All the things that can be seen and those that cannot be seen are included in it.
Xie Lingyin watched in amazement.
After being so engrossed in it for an hour, the two of them realized that it was almost time, so they went to the alley entrance to pick someone up.
Wei Chuan sent his location on the phone, and he was already very close.
A green taxi turned the corner. Meng Tang tilted his head slightly, bowed and waved.
Outside the slightly blurry taxi window, a hint of green entered Wei Chuan's eyes.
When he saw the person clearly, he was stunned.
The warm and gentle color of mountains and rivers makes Meng Tang look gentle and elegant.
Perhaps she was in a good mood after returning home, the coldness of her facial features faded away, and her eyes and eyebrows exuded a bit of liveliness and agility.
“Knock knock…”
Wei Chuan snapped back to his senses, lowered the car window and looked at Xu Heqing: "What's wrong?"
Xu Heqing didn't know whether to laugh or cry: "Why lower the window? Get out of the car. We're here."
Wei Chuan silently raised the car window and pushed open the door awkwardly.
