Chapter 174 Where is my wood carving? Where is my wood carving? Where is my wood carving?
"Mom, what do you mean?" Wei Chuan chased after her.
Just as she reached the landing at the corner of the stairs, Chu Yin turned around and gestured at herself with her hands:
"Come on, look at me. I dressed up and acted pretentiously on purpose, but I didn't frighten her at all. Instead, she confused me."
"Son, can you stop being so in love? Meng Tang doesn't really like you. He's just playing around with you, right? Otherwise, how could he agree so readily?"
"You said you didn't want to embarrass you, but it was all just a polite remark, right?"
"Meng Tang agreed to break up?" Wei Chuan frowned fiercely. "Impossible. I just talked to her on the phone last night. There's no way she'd break up with me."
"Heh..." Chu Yin laughed angrily, "You don't believe it, right? Go ask the driver."
"What driver am I asking about?" Wei Chuan completely lost his patience. "What did you say to Meng Tang?"
Chu Yin told Wei Chuan everything that happened in the car word for word.
"I called her later, but she didn't respond at all."
Chu Yin was now filled with depression because her son had been so infatuated with her.
"No." Wei Chuan laughed, and his laugh was very ugly.
Chu Yin felt distressed: "Don't be like this, there are many girls who are better than her."
"No one is better than her." Wei Chuan suddenly raised his head, staring at Chu Yin with his red eyes.
Chu Yin was startled: "You're not going to cry, are you?"
Wei Chuan sniffed and said aggrievedly, "I'll go make a phone call."
This Meng Tang is really causing a lot of trouble. Chu Yin followed him and advised, "Why are you still calling?"
Wei Chuan went upstairs to get his cell phone and called Meng Tang, but no one answered.
Chu Yin didn't dare to look at Wei Chuan's expression. She felt a little distressed, but more angry.
The one who felt distressed was naturally Wei Chuan, and the one who was angry was Meng Tang.
"Why didn't you answer the phone?" Wei Chuan was at a loss, so he turned around and walked downstairs. "I'm going back to school."
Chu Yin tried to stop him but failed. Forget it, it would be better if she could just go and give up.
"Old Yan." Chu Yin remembered something and hurried downstairs, "Arrange a car for Xiaochuan, his hand is injured."
As soon as he finished speaking, Wei Chuan drove the Land Rover out of the garage.
Half an hour later, the Land Rover arrived at the East Gate. Wei Chuan took his cell phone and slammed the car door in anger.
He walked towards the girls' dormitory while calling Meng Tang. He thought no one would answer the phone this time, but unexpectedly, the other party picked up the phone after just two rings.
Wei Chuan was stunned for a moment.
Meng Tang answered the phone and walked downstairs. She guessed that Wei Chuan should have come to school.
Sure enough, the next second Wei Chuan said: "I have something to ask you, please come down first, I'm at the east gate."
"Okay." Meng Tang couldn't wait for the elevator, so he turned to the emergency passage and walked up the stairs.
After Wei Chuan hung up the phone, he ran away.
Meng Tang did the same, left the dormitory building and ran towards the east gate.
This road was actually quite long. Meng Tang ran to the end along a grove of green trees and bumped into Wei Chuan, who looked impatient, at the corner.
Wei Chuan grabbed Meng Tang's arm and said, "My mom is looking for you, why didn't you tell me?"
Meng Tang saw his bandaged hand and said, "Let me see it."
"Answer me first." Wei Chuan's tone rose uncontrollably, "Why didn't you tell me? Why did you agree to break up? Didn't I say... well..."
Wei Chuan's words stopped abruptly, and he was speechless because of the bright eyes that came close to him.
Meng Tang left his lips, put down her tiptoes, and smiled at him: "Let me see your hand."
Wei Chuan stretched out his hand blankly.
"Are you stupid?" Meng Tang rolled his eyes at him. "You're so good at pinching a wine glass with your bare hands."
Wei Chuan's mind was slow for several seconds: "No, didn't my mom say you broke up with me?"
Meng Tang chuckled: "I promised her to break up with you, didn't you come to me on your own?"
Wei Chuan laughed angrily: "Can you please talk properly? What's going on?"
Meng Tang pulled him into the woods nearby, where there was a place to rest on the trail.
After they sat down, Meng Tang asked, "What will your aunt's reaction be when she goes back? Will she feel more sorry for you, or will she force you to break up?"
Wei Chuan was stunned, and carefully recalled Chu Yin's reaction, which seemed to be more of heartache.
Even when he came to see Meng Tang, she didn't object, even though she had opposed it strongly before.
"What's going on?" Wei Chuan asked again. His brain was no longer working. It was all because Meng Tang agreed to break up.
Meng Tang smiled and said, "It's just that what she imagined was different from what she expected. She thought I would pester her, but I agreed as soon as she asked. I only felt distressed that you had chosen the wrong person, and even angry that I agreed so easily. I also felt that it was not worth it for you."
Wei Chuan was stunned for a while, then gave Meng Tang a thumbs up: "Great, it seems you have learned a lot from this old man."
Meng Tang slapped his fingers and said, "I also made a rough assessment of her personality based on the few words you described her and our only meeting. Facts have proven that my assessment was correct."
This move may be useless to others, but it is definitely a killer move to Chu Yin.
Wei Chuan laughed and hugged Meng Tang into his arms: "You are so smart. Don't worry, leave the rest to me."
"You are a teachable kid." Meng Tang flicked his chin with his finger. "Keep playing the game till the end. Let me go and keep your distance."
"Why keep your distance? That's illogical," Wei Chuan said. "I should lose my appetite and come to pester you. Then you can send a message to my mom, telling her to take your annoying son away and stop pestering me. If my mom gets angry, she might agree."
Meng Tang stopped him from kissing her: "You misinterpreted me and bothered me without even thinking about food. Shouldn't I just ignore you? Why did you still kiss me?"
Wei Chuan wanted to force a kiss, but then he remembered that he had just gotten up and hadn't washed up yet, so he gave up the idea.
He pinched Meng Tang's face and said, "I have to rush back in despair."
Meng Tang was amused by him and nodded: "Go."
Wei Chuan returned to the car, smoothed his hair in front of the mirror, but felt it was not enough, so he got out of the car, bought a pack of cigarettes, lit them up, and smoked himself to death.
In the end, my eyes were red and I drove back home.
When Chu Yin saw him in this horrible state, she felt so heartbroken that she almost bled.
While she was glad that Meng Tang kept his word, she secretly hated that Meng Tang really wanted to break up with Wei Chuan.
The left and right brains fought each other, leaving afterimages.
"Xiaochuan?" Chu Yin carefully held Wei Chuan's arm, "Why are you like this?"
Wei Chuan was afraid that his acting skills were not good enough, so he didn't say a word and returned to his room listlessly.
The nanny came over and said to Chu Yin, "The young master hasn't eaten yet."
Chu Yin said, "Hurry up and bring it to him. I'll go check on him first."
The nanny responded.
After Chu Yin went upstairs, she found Wei Chuan lying on the bed, staring blankly at the ceiling.
"Xiaochuan, are you hungry?"
Wei Chuan pulled up the quilt and wrapped himself tightly, but he was too big and only covered his upper body.
This emo look made Chu Yin feel sad.
The nanny quickly brought the meal up and said to Chu Yin, "The master is back."
Chu Yin pointed inside: "Let him eat a little."
The nanny responded.
Wei Lifeng and Wei Sijia came back together. Before they sat down, Chu Yin hurried down from upstairs.
Wei Lifeng frowned: "Slow down."
Chu Yin pulled them to the living room and sat them down, saying, "Meng Tang really broke up with Xiao Chuan."
Wei Lifeng paused as he was untying his tie, then looked up at Chu Yin: "It's great, just what you want."
Wei Sijia nodded and said, "It's fine, but... Mom, your expression isn't right. You don't seem very happy."
"What else can I say?" Chu Yin felt depressed when she thought about it. "I went to see Meng Tang this morning, and he agreed to break up without saying a word."
"And then?" Wei Sijia spread her hands, "Why are you angry?"
Wei Lifeng suddenly laughed: "Are you angry that Meng Tang shouldn't have given up on Xiaochuan like this? It's not worth it for Xiaochuan?"
"I didn't say that." Chu Yin said stubbornly, "I just felt sorry for my son. He came back with red eyes, messy hair, and smelled of cigarettes. He wrapped himself in the quilt and hasn't eaten a single bite of food yet."
Wei Sijia was just about to go upstairs to check when the nanny came down with an embarrassed look on her face.
She raised her eyebrows and asked, "What's wrong?"
"The young master refused to eat and even asked me to take out the wooden sculpture that he had carefully placed by his bed and throw it away."
Wei Sijia tilted her head: "You threw it away?"
The nanny quickly shook her head: "I didn't dare, I hid in the cupboard."
Wei Sijia nodded: "Well done."
The next second, Wei Chuan's roar came from upstairs: "Where is my wood carving?"
Wei Sijia had a look of "as expected" on her face. She nodded to the nanny and said, "Give it to him quickly."
The nanny went upstairs and gave the wood carving to Wei Chuan.
But less than ten minutes later, Wei Chuan asked the nanny to take the wood carving away.
"Hold it away. I don't want to see any of it."
The three people in the living room looked upstairs together, looked at each other, and said nothing.
After a while, Wei Sijia laughed: "Want to make a bet? Will it take more than ten minutes this time?"
Chu Yin rolled her eyes at her: "You still want to make a bet."
Wei Lifeng tsks his tongue: "It should last five minutes."
Before five minutes were up, the upstairs chatter started again: "Where's my wood carving?"
Wei Sijia couldn't hold it in any longer and burst out laughing. She leaned against the back of the sofa and shook her head: "Forget it, I'll go up and see him."
Chu Yin stood up and said, "I'm going too."
Hearing footsteps, Wei Chuan took the eye drops from the bedside table and splashed them into his eyes.
When Wei Sijia and Chu Yin came in, the 1.9-meter-tall melancholy handsome man was holding the wooden sculpture and crying sadly.
"Xiaochuan." Chu Yin was sad. "Please don't be like this, okay? Mommy feels uncomfortable when you do this."
Wei Chuan nodded: "Mom, I'm fine."
Now that her son stopped talking back, Chu Yin felt even more upset.
Wei Chuan touched the rose on the wood carving and pushed it to Chu Yin with all his heart: "Just throw it away. She doesn't want me anymore, why should I keep it?"
"Don't." Chu Yin comforted him, "Just keep it as a souvenir. If I really burn it, you'll get angry with me again."
Wei Chuan wrapped himself up again and shouted from inside the quilt, "Then take it away, so I don't feel uncomfortable seeing it."
Someone curled the corners of his mouth under the quilt and said, "Wow, Meng Tang is really smart."
He was just testing whether Chu Yin would throw away the wood carving. Not only did she not throw it away, she also let him keep it as a souvenir, taking the first step towards success.
