Chapter 20 I'll give you medicine

Chapter 20 I'll give you medicine

"Brothers, both of you get up." Wei Chuan unceremoniously drove the man away and sat down next to Meng Tang.

One of the people who was chased away exclaimed, "I'm blind. Is this Brother Chuan's girlfriend?"

"No--"

"Brother Chuan, your girlfriend is so beautiful too. Are you here for tourism?"

"She came here to play," Wei Chuan responded to their enthusiasm, "but she doesn't—"

"I'm a local from Yanqing. There's nothing fun here."

"Brother Chuan, what did you order? It's my treat."

"No, no, no." Wei Chuan quickly stopped him, "I've already paid."

"Brother Chuan, can we take a photo together?"

"Yes," Wei Chuan agreed generously, "but the table is small and there's not enough space for so many people. My friend wouldn't feel comfortable either."

"Thank you, Brother Chuan. We'll leave after taking the photo."

Wei Chuan breathed a sigh of relief and turned to smile at Meng Tang.

After taking the photo, the boss brought the meal over and asked with a smile: "Hey boy, are you a star?"

"No, I'm just a student." Wei Chuan laughed, "Boss, hurry up, the pot is burnt."

The boss was fooled by him and turned to look at the pot.

Meng Tang silently quickened his eating pace because after what he had done just now, the people at the nearby tables kept looking over here.

Wei Chuan finished his meal in a few bites and left the stall with Meng Tang.

When he reached the roadside, Meng Tang no longer felt uncomfortable being stared at.

Wei Chuan said, "Let me take you back."

Meng Tang didn't like to trouble others, so he said, "No, I'll take a taxi myself, and you can go back to the hotel."

"It's night time now, and I'm worried about you being a girl. Let's go." Wei Chuan said as he called a taxi on his phone.

The old man also called, and Meng Tang answered and said, "I'm going back."

After hanging up the phone, she accidentally came across Xie Lingyin's number and said, "I don't know how Lingyin is doing."

"We should be home by now." Wei Chuan raised his arm and checked the time. "If you're worried, ask her before you go to bed."

That's all we can do.

When he got home, Wei Chuan didn't enter the house.

Meng Tang said goodbye to him and turned into the courtyard.

The old man was still awake. When he saw her, he asked, "Did that boy bring you back?"

"Um."

"What does his family do?"

Meng Tang shook his head: "I don't know, I just know he's quite rich."

"Do you know about your family situation?"

Meng Tang reacted: "Grandpa, why are you asking these questions?"

"Isn't he your classmate? Let me ask."

Is this because he is afraid of making the wrong friends? Meng Tang smiled and said, "I heard that he has three sisters and his aunt is a doctor."

"Three sisters?" The old man glared. "You favor sons over daughters? This kind of family is not good."

Meng Tang was a little tired and didn't have the energy to chat anymore, so he said, "Whether it's good or not has nothing to do with us. You should go to sleep. Or if you're really curious, ask him yourself tomorrow."

"Will he come tomorrow?"

"Um."

"Is he addicted?" the old man muttered.

Meng Tang raised his eyes: "What did you say?"

"Nothing." The old man waved his hand. "Go and rest. I'll ask him myself tomorrow."

Meng Tang returned to his room and sent a message to Xie Lingyin.

Xie Lingyin soon replied with a voice message in a relaxed tone, so Meng Tang didn't ask any more questions.

At eight o'clock the next day, the old man came and knocked on the door, asking Meng Tang to practice boxing with him.

"Your classmates were here yesterday, and I didn't call you. Why aren't you getting up at 8 o'clock?"

Afraid of being seen to have slacked off on physical exercise at school, Meng Tang hurriedly changed his clothes and went to the yard.

She gritted her teeth and persevered for an hour, but the old man still noticed something was wrong.

"It wasn't like this before. Were you slacking off at school?" The old man frowned.

Meng Tang stammered and didn't dare to lie.

"Xiaotang, do you think that now that you have mastered your skills, nothing else matters?"

"No." Meng Tang retorted softly, "I'm very busy with schoolwork."

"How many times have I told you that if your fingers are weak, your knife strokes are unstable, and the lines are messy and weak, then what you carve will be rubbish."

"I don't have enough wrist strength to even knead mud."

"Big things depend on both your hands and your waist. You neglect exercise and still make excuses."

"I always thought you were diligent, but I didn't expect you to be so hypocritical and hold your hand out."

Sister Fang heard the noise in the kitchen and rushed out to speak for Meng Tang: "What's going on? She hasn't had breakfast yet, how can she have the energy to exercise?"

"This is none of your business." The old man said firmly.

Meng Tang didn’t tell the old man about the last time he injured his palm. He knew it was his fault and stretched out his right hand.

Just as the bamboo stick was about to fall, someone knocked on the front gate.

The old man was stunned and motioned Sister Fang to open the door. At the same time, the bamboo stick fell.

A red mark suddenly appeared across the palm of his hand, and Meng Tang bit his lip in pain.

Two or three lines were entangled with each other. Meng Tang slightly bent his back and did not dare to take a step back.

As soon as Wei Chuan entered the middle courtyard, he saw Meng Tang being punished, and he stepped forward and grabbed the bamboo stick.

"What are you doing?"

"Wei Chuan." Meng Tang endured the pain and asked him to move aside, "There are only three more hits left."

"I won't let you. How can you hit someone like that? This is called corporal punishment." Wei Chuan stiffened his neck and confronted the old man.

Meng Yuchun snorted coldly: "Go away."

"I can't just ignore what I saw. I also know you are teaching your granddaughter, and I have no right to interfere. But there are thousands of ways to punish. Is physical torture necessary? Her hand was injured, and the loss was not Meng Tang herself."

"Why are you talking so much nonsense, kid? Don't think I won't hit you just because you're Xiaotang's classmate."

Wei Chuan was unfazed: "Go ahead and hit me. I have thick skin anyway."

Meng Yuchun narrowed his eyes and said, "I beat her because the pain will teach her a lesson. If I let her become exhausted, she won't be able to do this job anymore."

Wei Chuan: "I taught her how to play basketball and found that she has great strength in her hands. Even if she doesn't exercise regularly, her hand strength is definitely not declining."

The old man said to Meng Tang, "I know what you are thinking. You haven't carved the big piece yet. I think it's not too late to talk about it later."

"You think you can carve small pieces, delicate work, and master your skills."

"Why did I ask you to do horse stance with me before?"

"During your four years in college, I didn't allow you to produce anything. I wanted you to consolidate what you've learned. When you graduate and come back, I'll teach you how to carve large pieces."

"Do you want all the knowledge you've gained over the years to go to waste?"

Meng Tang stood up straight, stretched out his hand again, and said, "I don't want to. I was wrong."

The remaining three hits were all delivered without fail. Wei Chuan was dumbfounded. This pair of grandparents and grandchildren were really stubborn.

The old man took the bamboo strips and said, "You are good at carving small pieces, but you can see the big picture from the small. Grandpa believes in you and you can do it."

Meng Tang nodded with tears in his eyes.

The old man turned to Sister Fang and said, "Go get the medicine."

Sister Fang: "I know that without you telling me."

Meng Tang was beaten a lot when she was a child, so she was used to it.

The old man went to the backyard with his hands behind his back. Meng Tang breathed a sigh of relief and sat down at the stone table.

Sister Fang took the medicine, and Wei Chuan took the initiative to take it, saying, "Let me do it."

Sister Fang still had to cook, so she had to ask him for help.

Wei Chuan sat down at the stone table and glanced at Meng Tang: "Shall I apply medicine for you?"
