Chapter 53 Don't Sleep Here

Chapter 53 Don't Sleep Here

The hotel's corridors are covered with carpets. Although the footsteps of everyone passing by make no sound, their eyes seem to carry sound.

Meng Tang pointed at Wei Chuan and said, "Come in."

Wei Chuan almost wanted to laugh out loud three times. After entering the room, he asked Meng Tang even more demandingly, "Why did you choose me?"

Because the old man didn't allow her to get close to Li Hanjin.

Seeing Wei Chuan's smug look, Meng Tang deliberately said, "First come, first served."

"First come, first served?" Wei Chuan was unhappy when he heard it. "In other words, if he came first, you would have stopped me at the door?"

Meng Tang didn't make any assumptions and perfunctorily said, "Who is being stopped outside now?"

There were signs of anger. Wei Chuan, a man of insight, smiled and opened all the takeaways on the round wooden table.

Meng Tang smelled the aroma of cheese and came over: "What did you buy?"

Wei Chuan said, "I originally wanted to buy a durian pizza, but I was worried that it would be smelly and inconvenient for you to meet people, so I bought a two-pack. I also bought squid ink seafood risotto, pasta, and a sushi platter. I also bought some desserts and drinks."

The takeaway portion is not large, just enough to fill your stomach.

The sofa was a bit low, so Meng Tang asked Wei Chuan to sit over there, and he moved a chair over and sat opposite him.

The table wasn't very big, but it was filled to the brim. Meng Tang pointed and said, "It's a bit too much. Can you finish it?"

"Sure." Wei Chuan handed her the seafood risotto, "You eat first."

Meng Tang was stunned: "I'll give it to you after I finish eating?"

Wei Chuan scratched his head: "There is no empty box, and I don't need your spoon to eat. It's okay, I don't mind."

Is it a question of disdain?

Meng Tang glanced at the table, took the lid, picked up a little risotto, and said, "That's it."

She wanted to try everything, so she only took a handful the size of her palm.

Wei Chuan placed the French caramel brûlée in front of her: "Try it, it's from the same cake I gave you last time."

"You only ordered one?" Meng Tang glanced at the table.

Wei Chuan shook his head: "I don't want to eat."

He didn't look like the kind of person who would put himself in a difficult position, so Meng Tang paused and accepted it with a smile.

She lowered her head, scooped a spoonful and put it into her mouth. The rich egg and milk aroma in her mouth made her squint her eyes.

"How is it?" Wei Chuan tilted his head slightly, waiting for Meng Tang's feedback. If she said anything bad, he would immediately ask Wei Siyuan to close her dessert shop.

Meng Tang didn't have time to speak, just raised his thumb and nodded.

Sweet but not greasy.

Wei Chuan smiled and said, "Actually, this shop is owned by my third sister. If you want to eat there in the future, you can come to me and I'll give you a 50% discount."

Meng Tang: "...If you run a business like this, you won't be able to open any store."

"You don't eat it every day." Wei Chuan's reason was very good. "Wei Siyuan is not a good actor, but he has a great personality."

"Is your third sister an actress?" Meng Tang took a sip of his lychee black tea latte and looked at Wei Chuan in surprise. "What TV series has she acted in?"

Wei Chuan finished chewing the rice in his mouth and said, "They were all small supporting roles. I've never played a leading role."

After eating a piece of pizza, Meng Tang was already about 70% full. She leaned back in her chair and said, "If you act well, the supporting role will also be outstanding."

Wei Chuan laughed: "The key is that she can't act well. I've been hiring a teacher to teach her how to act."

"It's okay to have this intention." Meng Tang said, "As a family, you still have to encourage it."

Wei Chuan nodded on the surface, but he felt funny in his heart. Wei Siyuan didn't need any encouragement at all.

She is a person with a unique way of thinking and can comfort herself.

It was almost seven o'clock after dinner. Meng Tang cleaned the table. Wei Chuan took the garbage and said he would throw it away.

Meng Tang rinsed his mouth, washed his face, changed his clothes, took his cell phone and room card and went out.

Turn left and walk a few steps to the elevator entrance. He ran into Wei Chuan who was coming back. Seeing that he was also going into the elevator, Meng Tang was stunned: "Where are you going?"

Wei Chuan pointed upwards: "I'll go up with you."

"Isn't there a restriction on regular guests on the executive floor?"

She was able to go upstairs only because of Su Mian's invitation.

Wei Chuan took out a room card: "It's not like I didn't book a room."

Meng Tang thought he was so ridiculous and was such a spendthrift, and was speechless for a moment.

Just when I was about to say something, we reached the 38th floor.

As soon as the elevator opened, I felt that the fragrance was different from that of ordinary floors.

Li Hanjin happened to be walking over from the end of the corridor, accompanied by someone. He ignored Wei Chuan and introduced him to Meng Tang:

"This is Mr. Fu Hansong, the vice president of the Woodcarving Association. Mr. Fu, this is my junior sister Meng Tang."

Meng Tang bowed slightly and said hello.

Fu Hansong responded enthusiastically, his eyes turning to Wei Chuan: "This is..."

Li Hanjin, who had deliberately ignored Wei Chuan, froze in laughter. Wei Chuan glanced at him and said with a smile, "I'm classmate Meng Tang."

Fu Hansong tutted, "Why do you look so familiar to me? What's your last name?"

Wei Chuan's eyes rolled slightly, thinking that maybe he really had some connections with his family. He said, "My last name is Wei, and my name is Wei Chuan."

"Who is Wei Shize to you?"

I really know him. Wei Chuan looked at Fu Hansong and said, "My grandfather."

But he died some years ago.

Fu Hansong exclaimed, "Oh, I really know you. I'm a bit acquainted with your grandfather. The last time I saw you, you were still little. I didn't expect you to have grown so tall."

Wei Chuan smiled. He didn't remember at all. He was afraid that the last time he saw him was at the old man's funeral.

He smiled politely, saying he didn't want to interrupt their business, then turned to Meng Tang and said, "I'm going to have a drink. Call me when you come out."

Meng Tang nodded and saw him heading towards the executive lounge.

Li Hanjin led Fu Hansong and Meng Tang to the suite where Su Mian lived.

Meng Tang had seen her on TV before. She had a very Jiangnan-style appearance.

Li Hanjin introduced the two people, and Meng Tang bowed and greeted them, looking a little nervous.

Su Mian smiled and said, "Why are you so nervous? I've heard of your name a long time ago."

Meng Tang's eyes widened: "You know me?"

"Chen Xunli and I have been friends for many years," Su Mian laughed. "He secretly showed me your work."

"Really?" Meng Tang was a little surprised. Why did the dean always do sneaky things?

"Of course. I was one of the judges for the competition you participated in. I also know about the 'Blind Monk Listening to the Piano' statue you restored. I have to say, you are quite talented."

Meng Tang was flattered, and Su Mian asked everyone to sit down and talk.

They are all leaders in the industry and they couldn't stop discussing everything from schools of thought to wood properties, and then to market and policy inheritance, and they talked for more than four hours.

When Meng Tang left the house, he looked unsatisfied.

Everyone present today is a veteran in the wood carving industry, and one can get a glimpse of each other's attitude towards life from their words. Meng Tang feels that he has benefited a lot from it.

Fu Hansong was still pulling Li Hanjin to say goodbye at the door. Meng Tang and Su Mian's assistants nodded slightly and walked out first.

After entering the corridor, Meng Tang glanced sideways and noticed a figure sleeping on the sofa at the end of the corridor.

It’s Wei Chuan!

She lowered her head and glanced at her phone. It was just a few minutes before twelve o'clock. Had he been waiting here for more than four hours?

Meng Tang walked over and found that he was sleeping soundly.

She looked him up and down. The man was so tall and strong that she couldn't move him, so she could only wake him up.

Meng Tang held Wei Chuan's shoulders and pushed him gently: "Wei Chuan, wake up."

Wei Chuan frowned and muttered something, but didn't wake up.

"Wake up." Meng Tang said with more force, "Don't sleep here, Wei Chuan? Wake up..."

"It's you again." Wei Chuan was half asleep, and Meng Tang's long hair brushed across his face. He thought it was Maltese who had squeezed onto the bed, so he raised his big hand to embrace him, rubbed him, and held him in his arms.

He didn't know how strong he was, and Meng Tang felt like he had hit a wall.
