Chapter 26 Friends, We Understand

Chapter 26 Friends, We Understand

Meng Tang's wrist was held tightly. Wei Chuan was tall and held his arm high to shield her from the rain.

The playground was close to the training hall, and Meng Tang was pulled by him to hide under the eaves.

Only the main entrance of the museum was open. Many people were too lazy to go around to the main entrance and just waited for the rain to stop under the eaves of the side corridor.

Meng Tang patted the rain off his body and panted slightly: "Why are you here?"

Wei Chuan answered the question irrelevantly: "How is it? Are you wet?"

Meng Tang shook his head: "Not very wet."

She was located closest to the side door of the training hall, but this also caused people who came later to squeeze her and Wei Chuan in layer by layer.

The light from the mobile phone seemed small and dim in the large outdoor space, but it was enough for Meng Tang to use his eyes to outline Wei Chuan's outline.

There was a layer of moisture on his short hair and water droplets on his face.

Meng Tang took out a piece of cotton cloth from his pocket and handed it to him: "Wipe it."

"What is it?" Wei Chuan picked it up and looked at it in the light. "A handkerchief?"

Meng Tang said, "No, it's just a piece of clean cotton cloth that I use when transporting wood carvings."

Wei Chuan smiled and smoothed his wet short hair with cotton cloth.

There were quite a few people standing around him. Fortunately, the two of them were pressed against the wall, so no one noticed him. Wei Chuan approached slightly and asked in a low voice:

"You running alone?"

Meng Tang hummed, "I stayed in the restoration lab until half past eight. What about you? Why are you in the playground?"

Wei Chuan stuffed the cotton cloth into his pocket and said, "Training from six to half past eight, with an hour of free time. I lost a game with my teammates, so I dared to run two laps around the playground. It started raining just as I came out."

Meng Tang was amused. This training life was quite colorful.

The rain was pouring down, and it showed no sign of abating after more than ten minutes.

If we go back like this, we will be soaked from head to toe, but the young couple next to me can't wait.

The girl complained that the rain was too heavy and she was tired of standing, and the boy said she could lean on him and rest.

The girl hugged him and whined and acted coquettishly in the boy's arms.

The boy kissed and coaxed her, making Meng Tang, who was standing next to her, so embarrassed that she wanted to find a hole to crawl into.

This indifferent attitude makes him treat everyone around him as if they are nothing.

Wei Chuan patted Meng Tang's shoulder and switched places with her.

He whispered in the boy's ear: "Brother, there are people around here, please consider the occasion before you start talking about love."

The boy scoffed and said, "You don't have a girlfriend, why are you being so jealous?"

"I'm jealous?" Wei Chuan laughed angrily, "The sound of your kissing is louder than the sound of rain. Do you want me to bring a bed over for you two?"

There was a burst of laughter all around, and this matter would become tomorrow's gossip.

Meng Tang particularly admired Wei Chuan for this. While others hung their heads in embarrassment, he was the only one who spoke up for justice.

The girl pushed her boyfriend and said, "Let's go back to the dormitory. We don't know when the rain will stop."

The boy responded, turned around and pushed Wei Chuan: "Get out of the way."

Wei Chuan was caught off guard and his steps were unstable, bumping into Meng Tang behind him. Meng Tang made a "hmm" sound and covered his nose.

Wei Chuan didn't want to pursue the matter, so he turned around and asked Meng Tang: "Where did you hit?"

"Nose." Meng Tang replied in a muffled voice.

"Let me see." Wei Chuan moved closer and smelled the aroma of wood. His raised hand froze.

There was a huge difference in height between the two of them, and the fragrance seemed to be coming from Meng Tang's slightly open collar. One had to get close to smell it a little.

Meng Tang was unaware and shook his head, "It's okay, it doesn't hurt anymore."

She glanced at her phone and saw it was already past nine o'clock. She said:

"The rain keeps on falling, and I can't just stand here and wait. Why don't I go back?"

At worst, I'll get caught in the rain.

She was indeed very tired and wanted to go back to the dormitory to lie down.

Wei Chuan raised his finger and pointed: "Don't worry, there are still so many people here. It's raining so hard, you'll catch a cold if you go back."

Meng Tang frowned as he thought that the cold had delayed him.

"Come with me to the training hall. There are umbrellas there." Wei Chuan said, "I thought the rain would stop soon."

Just as Meng Tang was about to respond, Xie Lingyin called:

"Meng Tang, where are you? Did you know it's raining?"

"I'm hiding from the rain in the gym."

"Why did you go there?"

"It started raining halfway through my run, and I met Wei Chuan, who brought me here to take shelter from the rain."

"Did you meet Wei Chuan?" Xie Lingyin laughed. "Then ask him to take you back."

"Well……"

Meng Tang didn't want to insist that Xie Lingyin come to pick her up. After all, the rain was so heavy that even with an umbrella, she could only protect her upper body.

By this time, she must have finished her shower.

Meng Tang hung up the phone, and he and Wei Chuan squeezed through the crowd, walked around a long circle and entered the main entrance of the training hall.

After entering the basketball court, a dark-skinned boy started to make a noise:

"Hey, Brother Chuan, you actually brought a girl here."

"Go away! It started raining before I even ran away! This is Meng Tang, my friend."

Meng Tang smiled politely and waved to them.

Wei Chuan turned around and explained to her: "I lost the game, Dare, and asked me to go to the playground and bring a girl over."

Meng Tang: “…”

You really know how to have fun.

Several people on the school team rolled their eyes: "Oh, my friend, we understand~"

"You know shit." Wei Chuan retorted mercilessly.

"Friends, we are all good friends."

"Friends walk together for a lifetime, those days are no longer there, in one sentence..."

Someone started singing.

Wei Chuan laughed and said, "Hurry up and shut up. The tune has gone to Milan."

He patted one of them on the shoulder and said, "Where's the umbrella? Let me use it."

"It's in my bag. I told you guys to bring umbrellas because it's going to rain tonight, but none of you listened."

Wei Chuan rummaged through his bag and found a folding umbrella. He waved it towards Meng Tang and said, "Come on, I'll take you back to the dormitory."

"Brother Chuan, are you coming back? This is the only umbrella in our team."

Wei Chuan smiled and said deliberately: "I won't reply."

"If you don't come back, we'll pick you up and throw you into the rain."

Wei Chuan waved to them with his back to them.

"They..." Meng Tang hesitated.

"It's okay. I have to come back for training later. Maybe the rain will stop by then."

As he spoke, Wei Chuan took out a jacket from a black bag and handed it to Meng Tang: "The umbrella is small, put this on to keep out the water."

Meng Tang grabbed the clothes, glanced at the boy behind him, and asked, "Whose is it?"

Wei Chuan recalled the time when he was refused his coat on the high-speed train and said, "It's the coach's."

Meng Tang: "...Can you give me the coach's clothes?"

Wei Chuan: "It's okay, he bought it too big and couldn't wear it, so he gave it to us. We haven't taken a shower yet, so it's hard to try it on, so I'll lend it to you first."

Meng Tang was pushed out by him.

When they went out, it was still raining heavily, and Wei Chuan reminded her to put on her coat.

After Meng Tang put it on, he found that his hands were not even visible.

She lowered her eyes, flicked her sleeves, and asked Wei Chuan, "How tall is your coach?"

Wei Chuan: “185.”

185cm, that was indeed too big. Meng Tang looked up and gestured with his eyes: "How tall are you? I think you can wear it."

"190," Wei Chuan opened his umbrella. "How about you?"

"165." Meng Tang zipped up to the top, "Net height."

"25 centimeters is such a big difference?" Wei Chuan raised his hand and compared the gap between the two men.

Meng Tang: "...What do you mean?"

"Nothing," Wei Chuan said with a smile in his eyes, "Let's go, the rain is getting heavier again."

Meng Tang hummed inwardly and followed him into the rain curtain that was interwoven like silk threads.
