I loved Chapter 5!

I loved Chapter 5!

Yao Fanghua slept until ten o'clock. When she woke up, she first checked her watch and was relieved to see that it was still on.

She woke up hungry, so she asked Yao Weimin to buy breakfast.

Upon hearing this, Yao Weimin didn't even bother to wash his face, as he was also quite hungry. "Sister, a new fried dough stick shop has opened in the alley ahead. I'll go buy some."

"It's almost lunchtime, what are you going to do!" Li Chunying couldn't stand seeing her son being bossed around like a grandson and wasting money, so she immediately stopped him.

"Mom, don't cut off my source of income!" Yao Weimin turned and left. He had lost a lot of money yesterday and was thinking about how to make a quick buck. In his eyes, his sister was now a god of wealth, and he had to worship her.

Yao Weimin took the lunchbox and quickly bought fried dough sticks, fried pancakes, and a large serving of tofu pudding.

The fried dough sticks were good, and Yao Fanghua ate them with satisfaction. "How much?"

"Sis, it's my treat, it's just one meal. If you like it, I'll buy it for you every morning from now on."

"You keep buying them every day, what a spendthrift! If you dare to buy them every day, I'll break your legs!" Li Chunying's heart clenched at the sight of the fried dough sticks; they were so expensive. She could make them herself, so buying them from someone else was less appealing than making them herself. Rather than letting someone else make the money, she'd rather give it to them.

Yao Deyi wanted to eat it too, but he couldn't bring himself to take the food from the child.

Yao Fangyuan didn't care and took some food as soon as she came up. They were all siblings, so why should she treat one of them differently?

Yao Weimin tapped her with his chopsticks, "Didn't you eat breakfast?"

"I'm hungry again."

“I’m not going to buy it for you even if you’re hungry. If you want to eat, go buy it yourself.” Yao Weimin glared.

Yao Fangyuan didn't care. "Why should I eat it just because you buy it for my sister but not for me?"

"I won't give you any." Yao Weimin snatched the fried dough stick back and stuffed it into his own mouth. He was also wary of Yao Fangyuan not letting her take the rest of the fried dough sticks.

"Yao Weimin, give your sister a stick!" Li Chunying held Yao Weimin down and snatched the last stick, handing it to Yao Fangyuan.

Yao Fanghua wiped her mouth. "Do they have soy milk? I'll buy some tomorrow."

"Yes," Yao Weimin answered loudly.

Li Chunying: "You two spendthrifts, if you dare to buy fried dough sticks again tomorrow, I'll break your legs. You two take out all the money you have, and I'll keep it for you."

Yao Fanghua ignored her and turned to instruct Yao Weimin to get on his bicycle and take her out later.

Yao Weimin simply assumed his mother had made a noise, turned around and rode his family's old bicycle, thoughtfully placing a cushion on the back seat.

Li Chunying muttered to herself, "That brat has never been this considerate to his own mother."

As children grow up, they become independent of their mothers. Seeing that her two children were disobedient, Li Chunying had no choice but to compromise, saying, "What do you want to eat for breakfast tomorrow? I'll make it for you."

Yao Weimin's eyes lit up: "Mom, you know how to fry dough sticks?" That would be great, saving money and time.

"Yes!" As long as the money is right, there's nothing she can't do. "Instead of spending the money, you should give it to Mom." Li Chunying stared at Yao Weimin intently.

Yao Weimin lowered his head, realizing he had to pay her. It was truly his mother, eyeing the few dollars in his pocket!

Yao Fanghua came out with her bag and readily agreed, "Just go by the market price. Mom, you make chive and egg pancakes tomorrow, fried dough sticks the day after, and steamed cabbage and pork buns the day after that. No matter how many I eat, I'll pay the market price. Everything has to be freshly made. Mom, what you make is definitely cleaner than what you can buy outside, and the taste is definitely just as good. I trust you."

"Mom is reluctant to put in meat and oil, so how good can it taste?" Yao Weimin muttered.

"It's okay, let's eat it for two days first and give Mom a chance. If it's really not good, we'll just buy it from outside again. We'll settle the bill daily, it's not like you're on a monthly plan."

Yao Weimin laughed when he heard this, "That's right, absolutely right."

With a whistle, Yao Weimin carried Yao Fanghua out of the courtyard.

Upon hearing that they were going to the Overseas Chinese Store, Yao Weimin paused for a moment, "Sister, they won't let us in that place."

Yao Fanghua took out two foreign exchange certificates. "Don't worry, it'll go in."

Yao Weimin stared at the two foreign exchange certificates, his eyes practically glued to them. "Sis, you're amazing." Actually, what he really wanted to say was, "Sis, you're really rich." Following his sister was definitely the right decision. Yao Weimin started riding his bike with a burst of energy.

Holding her foreign exchange certificates, Yao Fanghua swaggered into the Overseas Chinese Store. Yao Weimin followed behind, timid and hesitant. After being scolded by his older sister to "stand up straight," he immediately straightened his chest, though his heart was still pounding and his eyes kept wandering around.

This store is huge, bright, and clean! It sells famous cigarettes and liquors, home appliances, unique handicrafts, bicycles, clothes, and even several counters selling gold...

Yao Fanghua browsed around the crafts counter, then went to the watch counter. Sure enough, she saw a Rolex watch, but it was a different style from the one she had in her hand. The one in the counter was priced at 2,200 yuan, which was about the same price she had expected.

Having made up her mind, Yao Fanghua decided to wait outside the shop, hoping to sell the watch to someone who was destined to buy it.

Holding onto a Rolex is definitely a sure way to make money; a Rolex only cost a thousand a couple of years ago, and now it's two thousand. But what she wants more right now is to save money to buy a house, a courtyard house like Wu Peng's, one that's all her own. She wants to arrange it nicely, grow flowers and vegetables, and have everything she needs: a refrigerator, a washing machine, floor heating, even air conditioning. And she wants to raise a few big dogs, like Lao San's big dogs, to guard the house.

Yao Fanghua took the watch box out of her bag. It was a wooden box she had carved herself, simple yet elegant, with the letters "Rolex" carved on it. Inside the box was the Rolex watch. Just by looking at the packaging, it was more upscale than the ones in the Overseas Chinese Store. Compared to the two, the ones in the Overseas Chinese Store looked like fakes.

Yao Fanghua originally intended to sell to a well-dressed tycoon, but unexpectedly, two foreigners showed up instead.

Yao Fanghua's eyes lit up; business with foreigners was always easier. She skillfully stepped forward to strike up a conversation.

The two foreigners, who looked like a couple, were surprised that the person in front of them spoke such fluent English, and immediately felt a sense of goodwill towards them. After looking at what Yao Fanghua was holding, they first praised the wooden box highly. Then the foreign woman screamed, "This is the rare, discontinued watch I've been searching for!" Oh my God!

"How much?" the girl asked impatiently.

Yao Fanghua was overjoyed and secretly decided to raise the price directly from 1,500 to 5,000.

Upon hearing that it cost five thousand, the two foreigners frowned and shook their heads. It was within their acceptable range, but still a bit expensive. However, the girl really couldn't bear to part with the watch and held it in her hand, reluctant to put it down. Besides, it came with such an exquisite wooden box.

The woman wasn't good at bargaining; she looked at the watch with a mixture of reluctance and frown.

The man noticed his girlfriend's liking for the watch, so he said, "Lolita, if you like it, I'll buy it for you."

"But it's too expensive."

"It's okay, I'll pay. Money is meant to be spent. Nothing is more important than making you happy."

"David, you're so kind."

Yao Weimin couldn't understand bird language. Besides being shocked that his older sister could speak bird language, he was also bewildered as he watched the two foreigners gazing at each other affectionately.

Yao Fanghua was forced to stuff her mouth full of food, thinking that the price couldn't be lowered any further, otherwise it would seem like the other party's kindness was insignificant.

She pulled a pair of wooden angel carvings from her bag. Overseas Chinese like tigers and lions, while foreigners prefer winged boy and girl angels like these. She'd seen a music box at the craft counter earlier and thought that if there were many foreigners here, she could make a few herself; she'd made those before. Not only music boxes, but also pen holders and jewelry boxes—she could carve a few of those too.

"The price can't be lowered, but I can give you a pair of little angels as a gift."

Sure enough, after receiving the pair of little angels, the young woman screamed again. Without further hesitation, she immediately decided to buy them.

"We don't have enough foreign exchange certificates, can we use US dollars?"

"Yes." Absolutely!

The three chatted while counting the money, and in the end, the woman even left her contact number with Yao Fanghua.

"Yao, this watch is almost emptying our savings." Despite saying this, Lolita still looked satisfied.

Yao Fanghua: "This watch will definitely appreciate in value in the future. You won't lose money if you buy it."

"Whether it appreciates in value or not doesn't matter, the main thing is that I love it so much." Lolita had already put on the watch and was beaming with joy as she raised her wrist.

Yao Fanghua, clutching a stack of US dollars and several foreign exchange certificates, smiled; she really liked them.

Looking at the thick stack of bills, Yao Weimin stared blankly, feeling as if he were dreaming.
