Xianjin lowered his head and took a sip.
Well, it is a good wine, clear and mellow, not spicy in the mouth and not so spicy that it makes people grimace in pain.
Grinning is bound to look a bit ugly.
The alcohol content of this wine should not be too high.
Xianjin had a preliminary judgement in his mind about how much to drink.
Xianjin placed the cup on the table, as if he was organizing his words. After a moment, he spoke, "...Tell me about those two years."
Qiao Hui filled another glass and drank it all in one gulp. The corners of his lips curled up in a familiar arc, and he looked like a dog who didn't care about anything. "What are you talking about? Grilled hairtail, steamed hairtail, chopped pepper hairtail - oh, we didn't chop the pepper, we went by sea, we couldn't go to Hunan to steal the chopped pepper."
Xianjin smiled, his eyes narrowed like the crescent moon, and then immediately turned stern, "Did I ever tell you that if you mention that fishy and smelly thing again, I will immediately throw you into the sea to feed the cutlass fish!"
Qiao Hui was so scared that he raised his hands and said, "Please spare my life, lady!"
Xianjin acted like a fair judge, "Three times is the limit. I'll let you off this time, but not next time."
Qiao Huifang smiled happily, then raised his head and drank the whole glass of wine, then placed the empty cup on the table. Finally, he did not rush to fill it up, but turned his head to look out the window, as if thinking about where to start.
It seems I have forgotten everything.
Really, it’s like the labor pains have been repaired by time, and all the memories are intact again.
Everything and everyone that was killing him became a blur.
Qiao Hui didn't know where to start.
Xianjin noticed Qiao Hui's hesitation, thought for a moment and asked in a low voice, "Besides the wound on your neck, do you have any other fatal injuries?"
Qiao Hui seemed to have encountered a free-point question that he could finally solve. He woke up from a dream and picked up the pen to answer the questions. "That's a lot - my stomach was scratched by a dagger; my chest was hit by a halberd, oh, and my head? An arrow shot from somewhere almost took away half of my ear."
Qiao Hui laughed, and the usually bright and handsome young man continued to joke, "You don't know how scared I am! A small number of the veterans on our pirate ship only have one eye, and they cover it with a black leather cover - if I lost my ear, I would be so out of place!"
Xianjin blinked, his nose felt a little sour, so he simply lowered his head and took another sip of wine.
The wine wasn't really spicy, so it couldn't quite soothe the astringency that suddenly welled up in Xianjin's heart.
Xianjin imitated Qiao Hui and drank it all. He brought the empty cup to Qiao Hui and said in a domineering tone, "Fill it up."
Qiao Hui lowered his head and obeyed.
"Thank goodness." Xianjin raised his head and drank the second glass of wine.
Qiao Hui nodded tenderly, looking at Xianjin from a place where his sight was blocked by the raised cup, "Yes, thank goodness."
Keep filling up the wine.
Xianjin tilted his head and continued to ask, "Pirates, why do you listen to me?"
Qiao Hui drank slower, "Because I'm ruthless enough. If anyone doesn't listen to me, I'll hang their head on the mast."
"When you were in Jing County...you never even killed a chicken..." Xian Jin said in a low voice.
Qiao Hui nodded, "The situation is stronger than me. I have nowhere to go. Using silver to open a path won't work on the sea. Pirates don't have much morality. You kill me and I eat you. Big fish eat small fish, small fish eat shrimp... I don't want to be a big fish or a shrimp. I just want to be a human. But pirates drift on the sea for a long time. They are whale sharks and vicious crocodiles, but not human beings."
Xianjin said silently, let’s drink another glass.
Qiao Hui filled the glass again, "Finish this one and don't drink any more - are you hungry? I'll make you a bowl of noodles."
Xianjin nodded, "I'm hungry. I want some noodles with a big piece of meat."
After a pause, he said, "Also drink wine. This wine is not spicy and will not make you drunk."
Qiao Hui: Who told you that non-spicy wine won’t make you drunk?
But Xianjin's eyes were clear and her words were articulate. Qiao Hui did not underestimate a woman's alcohol tolerance. After nodding slightly, he turned around to light the clay stove, boiled water, and scrambled two handfuls of dry noodles. Then he got up and went to the kitchen next door to get a bowl of kelp and pork ribs soup. He asked Xianjin, "Is it okay to have only pork ribs instead of pork ribs?"
Xianjin frowned, "No, eat the braised pork, I want to eat the braised pork, eat the thick and beautiful braised pork!"
Qiao Hui resigned himself to his fate, put down the soup bowl, and went to the kitchen to get some pork for Princess Baozirou.
"I really can't find the pork." Qiao Hui handed a bowl of clean, sugar-colored stewed meat to Xianjin, "How about roasted meat?"
Looking through the golden probe, the roasted meat is shiny and oily, a bit like oiled chest muscles...
Xianjin nodded.
Qiao Hui scooped out the noodles and rinsed them with cold water. He then fried the roast pork on the fire and spread it on the noodles as the sauce, then handed it to Xianjin.
The movements were smooth and performed with great skill.
Xianjin took the bowl and asked, "Did you cook noodles often before?"
Qiao Hui smiled and shook his head, "What noodles are we cooking? There is no noodles to eat. Pirates don't dare to come ashore, and they don't grow crops! They only eat meat! They eat fish! Sometimes there is no salt! That time when I saw Haixing's brother dying of blood paralysis, I grabbed some grass and chewed it up when we came ashore on the lonely island - it was so bitter that it killed me."
Xianjin lowered his head to eat noodles. As he ate, he blinked and a tear fell into the noodles.
Now that I have some food in my stomach, I can drink without worry.
Some people feel dizzy after drinking, but they look sober and rational.
Xianjin looked the same, so Qiao Hui drank several glasses with him.
"There must be some good news, right?" Xianjin crossed his legs on the stool, resting his hands on his feet, and looked at Qiao Hui with burning eyes. "Besides the hairtail, the bitter grass, the dead companions, and the deadly wounds all over his body, there must be some good news, right?"
Qiao Hui held the cup in his hand and said without hesitation, "Of course."
Xianjin: “Hmm?”
