Chapter 55: The Prolock (6) “You can still continue then…
"You gave the card to that kid?"
Of course, Sellick did not miss Fei's action just now. He was originally surprised. According to this guy's previous habits, he should go to check the "cargo" in the early morning. He suddenly wanted to go with him, probably because of those foreign passengers.
"You've seen it all, why are you asking me?" Fei nodded in the direction of the sensing area, signaling Seric to stop talking and swipe his black card. "If you don't leave now, I'll use you as bait."
Serrik: "...a rather useless threat. After all, it won't harm Plock's protection officers."
As he said this, he raised his hand and placed the card on the recognition area above the button, and finally took Fei into the room on the third floor below ground where the "cargo" was staying.
In less than a day, this place looked even more like a monster's lair. It was still damp and fishy, but the transparent film covering it had turned a deep red, like a piece of meat that had been marinated and cut open, with the sticky oil smeared on it ready to drip off in the next second.
The tentacles became more and more agitated, smashing against the walls frantically. These noises were eventually drowned out by another sound. Fei felt the floor beneath his feet vibrating, and the sound of his heartbeat filled his eardrums, forming an uneven echo in the room.
Inside the eggs, narrow eyes were open against the outer layer, cloudy and strange. Countless eyeballs were rolling, shrinking slightly with excitement, eager to devour the new nutrients.
Fei grabbed the tentacle that was trying to strangle his head and pulled it off completely. The thin membrane at the end was torn into pieces, revealing the peeling wallpaper behind it, and scarlet liquid dripped onto the ground.
When he loosened his grip again, the tentacle had disappeared. Fei tilted his head and calmly warned the consciousness: "I think you may have forgotten a lot of things, such as the destruction of the Prolock, and the pain of forcibly tearing your consciousness apart."
"If you cooperate, the cultivation will go much more smoothly." The eggs were growing much slower than he expected. Fei slowly stood beside Serrik again. "The quality of this batch of goods is not up to standard. It seems that more bait is needed."
Serric seemed surprised by this. He looked at Fei and asked mockingly, "The other passengers on the cruise ship really like to make things difficult for outsiders in order to please us. You didn't react in the game before, but now you want to feed them to the cargo?"
Fei originally wanted to feed the monsters that climbed onto the ship as food to the consciousness, but he didn't expect that Serik would think they were the passengers, so he didn't reply.
"But you don't seem like you would do that." Serric denied his previous words. He thought of another more likely scenario. "Are you going to stuff the monsters in the sea into it? That might not work."
"Really? But I think maybe it's possible." Fei didn't think it was impossible. After all, for it, everything here was just food.
Fei smiled. He didn't believe that Serric didn't understand its true nature. "The game copy only lasts for nine days. Once it ends, it will be reset, and the cycle will continue. Serric, have you really never thought about what will happen on the tenth or eleventh day?"
"Will you, the protected subjects of the Prolock, continue to live so recklessly and peacefully?" Fei's smile was cold and malicious, and he said with regret and lament, "It will bite you to pieces, even if you are extraordinary and powerful."
Even the Plock itself, which served as a breeding ground, would most likely be completely devoured by it.
Fei sneered: "If that day really comes, will you show fear on your face, Seric?"
"In fact, such an assumption doesn't exist at all." Seric was certainly not worried. Since Fei cared about those foreign passengers, he wouldn't let such a thing happen. "You should know better than me."
Fei said nothing, but Seric knew him well and was not wrong at all.
If there is someone from a powerful class around, those monsters will most likely not come to the negative third floor. Even though the "cargo" has not grown to its complete form, they will still be too afraid to get close unless there is a "food" that is tempting enough.
So Fei told Seric: "You should go back."
And he will temporarily serve as this "food".
The loud crash shattered the windows, and glass was scattered all over the ground. Soon, it was thrown to the other side by the long, barbed tail and shattered into pieces. The fragments reflected a sharp luster in the endless night, and the surging sound of waves rolled in.
The waves tonight seemed not so calm. The hull was tilting slightly. Waves came crashing down one after another, flowing in through the broken windows and soaking most of the carpet in the corridor.
The surging waves actively sent the monsters from the deep sea into the negative third floor of the Prolock.
Half of the monster's body barely maintained its original human appearance. Its skin had become wrinkled and white due to being soaked in water for a long time. It had a rotten and fishy smell all over its body, and there were thin webbed fingers like transparent membranes.
Its skin was eerily white, like the water ghost in the terrifying rumors that dragged people into the sea.
Swarms of brain worms swarmed up the walls and ceiling like crazy. Almost everywhere within sight was filled with wriggling reptiles, so disgusting it made one's scalp tingle.
These bugs will drill into the passengers' bodies, eat their original brains and parasitize them. Eventually, the parasitized passengers will become unconscious monsters and become ghosts wandering on the seabed.
Fei simply raised his hand and grasped the door handle. He twisted it hard and pulled it open. Countless crazy tentacles quickly stretched out the next moment, mercilessly rolling up the baits that could only be regarded as filling the gaps between their teeth, and then swallowed them all in one gulp.
He stood lazily against the wall, smiling and offering his blessing in a cheerful tone: "I hope this meal can satisfy you."
Fei ignored the swarms of insects and monsters blocking the only passage and walked straight ahead. The infiltrated shadows formed a barrier around him, which was safe and strong enough. He walked smoothly into the elevator, leaving the roar of the monsters behind.
Fei gave the black card away, but that didn't mean he couldn't use the elevator anymore. It didn't have much of an impact on him.
Fei came to the public Class A outdoors on the ninth floor.
The ethereal singing voice could not make out the specific meaning of the words, but sounded like a fragmented and chaotic chant, blending into the raging waves, guiding the unsuspecting passengers step by step over the fence and into the sea.
A slender figure was sitting on the edge of the large swimming pool, with a tranquility that was in stark contrast to the noisy night. The androgynous face looked like a gorgeous and decadent flower, not what a human should look like, but a beauty that existed only to seduce.
Its waist was covered with fan-shaped scales, and below was a fish tail immersed in the water, like gorgeous silk floating with the waves, just like a false dream specially provided by the Plock for its passengers at night.
The mermaid noticed Fei's gaze, tilted her head and gave him a friendly smile, which was particularly innocent.
This time, the bewitching was no exception. The person in front of it had the same reaction as the previous passengers. He walked towards it with a slow pace, which made it laugh even more happily.
The passengers were already standing at the other end of the pool. The mermaid rolled her eyes, and her head suddenly bent at a twisted angle, breaking her neck. Her head fell onto her outstretched hands, and her wet black hair spread out in the pool.
It obscures the view like black seaweed, and may soon strangle the neck until the passengers can no longer take in oxygen.
The mermaid opened her lips, which were so red that they looked like blood. The tentacles that extended from them formed a blooming carnivorous plant. Each layer of petals had sharp fangs, and the eyeball was embedded in the center.
Saliva dripped into the pool in front of the passengers. The carnivorous plant bloomed more and more exaggeratedly, as if it wanted to swallow people in one bite, but it couldn't get any closer. Then there was a crisp sound of a heavy object breaking through the water surface, and waves splashed on the floor next to the toe of the shoe.
The severed tentacle froze in place, then turned frantic and furious after a few seconds of silence. The smooth cut split into different layers of petals, and the fangs became sharper, ready to bite off large chunks of flesh from the passenger's body.
Fei held a thin blade in his hand and drew a smooth straight line in the air. The next moment, the tentacle was cut in half and collapsed on both sides of the swimming pool due to loss of support.
He came to the mermaid, pointed the blade at the head, and symbolically gestured a few times in the air, threatening casually: "If you don't want me to kill you, give me the pearl and go back to the sea. If you come back on the boat, I will chop off your head."
The frightened mermaid was still unwilling to give up. She raised her hand to dig out her own eyeballs, threw them into Fei's hand and jumped into the sea.
The mermaid's eyeballs turned into round and plump pearls when they fell into Fei's palm. He looked down at them, put them in his pocket, turned around and left Class A to go to the casino downstairs to find Selrick.
However, Fei's route was interrupted by the sudden appearance of Xu Du and his companions. These young men had come here following the mermaid's singing. When they saw him appear, they immediately guessed that he had taken the pearl. "Brother Fei, are you going to the casino to make a deal?"
With Seric in charge of the casino, monsters generally won't attack this place on their own initiative. Even at night, there are still many brave gamblers, and the casino will refuse entry to all outsiders at night.
Fei responded calmly, and Xu Du's curiosity was piqued. "What do you want in exchange? There's no need to make a special deal to deal with the ugly octopus. Didn't you deal with it easily before?"
The ugly octopus that Xu Du mentioned is the conscious body that has not yet entered its complete form. Fei thought speechlessly, this guy is shouting like that, isn't he afraid of being eaten by it when he goes downstairs to feed the goods?
Fei said briefly: "Ask Serik to open up his authority and allow outside passengers to enter the casino at night."
Xu Du raised his eyebrows: "You are really kind, but why haven't I seen you be so kind in the dungeon?"
"After all, one of the new passengers is my younger brother. Please help me take care of him. He is the shorter boy among the three youngest children." Fei was not entirely sure whether Xu Du would really help. This guy was usually too capricious.
He thought of something and added slowly, "It's just convenient for you anyway, but Seric hates outsiders. Don't you want to see him get furious?"
