Chapter 59: Carnival (1) “The audience at the carnival really…

When Fei was going through the Carnival dungeon, in addition to the necessary performances required by the rules as a new actor, he also devoted himself to several gorgeous explosive fireworks shows, relying on igniting all the screams and enthusiasm, and becoming a truly popular guest.

He didn't expect that after such a long time, the tourists in the amusement park were still as enthusiastic as ever. After just a short walk, Fei had been pulled to take photos with them no less than ten times, and he was holding a bunch of miscellaneous gifts in his hands.

Fei picked up the pile of souvenirs, including flowers, stuffed dolls, badges, and headbands, and finally threw them into the panel to free his hands. He saw another tourist coming over and was about to wave him away when an ice cream cone was stuffed into his hand.

Fiji:"……"

It still tasted like chocolate, at least it wasn't a taste he hated. Considering the principle of not wasting food and the thoughtfulness, Fei ate the single scoop of ice cream.

He threw away the paper wrapper that prevented the melted ice cream from dripping onto his hands, then leaned over, his fingertips touching the soft fur of a kitten that had been lying at his feet.

It was a blue-gold shaded cat of excellent appearance. It was actually not very big, but its fur was quite fluffy, and it looked like a completely furry ball. The warm golden base fur turned into blue-gray at the tip, and the soft contrast made it look more lively.

The blue-gold tabby cat with round, sweet eyes let out a short chirp, its sleekly combed tail twitching. Fei reached out and picked up the lazy cat. He was a little helpless, "Blueberry, why are you running around again? Does your owner know you've sneaked out?"

The blue-gold tabby cat proudly swung its long tail and barked again when it heard this, obviously telling Fei that it had sneaked out.

Fei took it and walked towards the central area. This large amusement park contains multiple theme parks. The rides are more luxurious than each other. There are also various snack stalls and shops around it. He walked for a long time.

Fei didn't stop until the huge tent with a pointed roof came into view. The outer guardrail was still closed. After all, it was not time for the performance.

Seeing Fei coming over, the uniformed staff inside hurriedly opened the fence. Blueberry, who was lying on his shoulder, turned his head and squeezed out a short sound to greet people on his behalf.

Fei entered the circus tent. He skillfully walked around the stage. The passage leading to the outside world from the backstage was extremely dim, with different rooms on both sides. He walked towards the room at the end with a clear goal.

The door wasn't closed tightly, and the light from the room spilled out through the crack, outlining warm yellow lines on the corridor floor. Fei put the blueberries back on the ground, then raised his hand and knocked on the door. A cold male voice followed, "Come in."

Fei pushed open the door and walked in. The Western actor with short golden hair looked over. His blue eyes, like the shallow sea, seemed to have crushed the damp mist on the sea surface, revealing a cold and clear expression, as if he would not be moved at all even if he witnessed death.

His handsome face was like an oil painting painted by a court artist, melancholy and calm. His fingertips touched the paint of the brush, and the deep red dye was smeared on the pale skin.

Rather than the wound left by a cut finger, it looked more like an accidental mark left during a murder.

The consciousness of the ghost story was standing in front of Fei. He was the person in charge of this carnival celebration and also the most famous clown in the circus.

Fei feels that this strange story is quite in line with the times. No matter whether it is the owner of the amusement park or the organizer of the event, the identity that can be summarized as the boss has to be changed to the manager.

"It's a pity. I don't think today will be the debut for the new actor." Fei stroked Blueberry who jumped onto the dressing table. The kitten rubbed his palm, and its long furry tail kept shaking, sweeping over the palette and dye on the table.

Fei pretended not to notice Blueberry's disruptive behavior and continued, "I will be on stage tonight. Of course, it's not a free performance, it's just a substitute."

According to the rules, foreign tourists who enter the carnival will appear directly on the performance stage, and what awaits them is not a normal and compliant performance, but a brutal performance in which these new actors will be cut into countless pieces of meat.

Fei also knew that Shi Yu and the others had already come in, but because the performance had not yet started, he was forced to stay in his seat in the audience and could not move around.

"...Do you know those foreign tourists?" The clown had just washed off his melted makeup and was about to put it back on when Fei's sudden appearance interrupted the actor's preparations on stage. His expression remained unchanged despite his displeasure.

He picked up the color mixing tools that fell to the ground, opened the drawer and took out a new brush, then turned his head to look at Fei, "Whatever, but if you want to go on stage, you can't wear this. After all, it will embarrass me."

Fei said he didn't care. He took out the hoop earrings Xu Du had stuffed into his hand on the Plock and said, "You know what I'm going to do anyway, so don't make it too fancy."

Finally, Fei sat in front of the dressing table, and Blueberry lay on his knees, biting his fingers playfully.

The clown gave him a warning while putting on makeup for his card magic show: "You want to replace them, okay, just this once, but don't forget, what the carnival audience really expects is gore and excitement, not ordinary performances."

The brush soaked in dye was placed under the eyelid, and the cool touch wandered around, depicting a black diamond pattern of appropriate size. The person in front of him quickly put down the brush and replaced it with a new one, and then the dark red hue extended to the corner of the mouth into a strange upward arc.

A black suit jacket and vest were thrown over together. The long-sleeved shirt inside was white. This combination was quite common, and Fei took it.

By the time he changed his clothes, the clown outside had disappeared. At the same time, Fei heard a sudden burst of cheers. It was obvious that the show was about to begin.

He walked down the corridor to the backstage area, raised his hand and lifted a corner of the crimson curtain. The host's voice drifted into his ears through the gap: "Welcome to the carnival!"

Waves of excitement rose one after another, and the audience's expressions were so eager that they seemed to be looking forward to the spilling of blood, ideally to dye the entire stage red until they were all covered in the same color.

"Unfortunately, tonight's performance is unusual and some people may be disappointed, but I think most of the audience will be delighted. After all, it is rare for carnivals to have returning guests."

The clown acting as the host had a strange makeup, and red dye outlined an exaggerated smile at the corners of his lips. "And he's about to bring us a wonderful magic show."

"This performance will be led by the carnival's first returning guest, so look forward to it! The player performers who have brought us countless surprises in the past will not let you down this time!"

The closed dark red curtain was suddenly pulled open, and smoke spread out along with the suddenly dimming lights. The figure in the center of the stage became particularly hazy, appearing vaguely in the field of vision, changing silently.

A hand waved away the thick fog in the center of the stage. Wearing a black half-palm glove, a silver ring circled the bony and slender fingers, the palm was raised upwards, the gesture seemed like an invitation.

The performer's face slowly appeared before everyone's eyes. The dark black suit highlighted his straight and superior figure, and the thin chain hanging in the lapel buttonhole reflected a noble and dazzling color.

The tie he wore had a diamond pattern, which blended wonderfully with the pattern under his eyes. The metal earrings hidden in his hair had a cold sheen, and the agate stone embedded in the middle had a gaze similar to that of his pitch-black pupils, as if it came from his original self.

The endless waves of cheering grabbed everyone's attention, enthusiastically welcoming tonight's performers. In such an atmosphere, the few indifferent audience members in the front row seemed particularly out of place.

Shi Yu was so shocked that he was almost speechless. The brilliant and popular performer on the stage was indeed the Fei he knew. He didn't look like a foreign tourist at all. He should be a popular guest specially invited by the carnival.

The young man was somewhat dazed, but the performance didn't stop because of his distraction. He was brought back to his senses when the guest in the center of the stage spoke, his voice echoing through the headset throughout the venue: "I'm very happy to be invited to the carnival."

"What do you want to see? Pigeon magic, human body cutting, water tank escape, or disappearing coins?" Fei asked casually. He flipped his wrist and a deck of playing cards appeared. "But unfortunately you don't have a choice. Tonight we only have card magic."

He turned his wrist again, and when he opened his palm again, the diamond card had disappeared. Fei smiled and said, "My audience, why don't you open your pockets? Perhaps there are new surprises waiting for you."

The members of the audience began to check their pockets one after another. After excited shouts, the white light hit the man. In his hand was a playing card of the diamond suit, which was the one the performer had shown earlier.

"It seems a lucky audience member has already discovered my gift. Congratulations on your good fortune, but I think you could take another look. Is this card really the Four of Diamonds?"

The audience who stood up lowered their heads upon hearing this, and were surprised to find that the red square on the card had turned into a bright and vivid rose, so lifelike that the slender branches suddenly broke free from the confines of the pattern in the next second, and the beautiful flowers climbed out of the card.

The red roses, which are the real gift, are in full bloom, looking as if they are about to shed drops of blood.

The enthusiastic feedback from the audience seemed to please the performer. Fei smiled and continued with a hint of regret: "It seems that only this audience member received my gift, but why don't you open your pockets again?"

Surprised responses came from all directions, and the performer kept smiling the whole time. Perhaps he really felt the fun, or perhaps it was just an illusion caused by the bright red dye at the corners of his mouth.

Shi Yu also followed the actions of the other audience members and searched his pockets. He took out the playing card hidden inside, which had a broken mirror engraved on it.

He remembered something and turned his head to look at the cards in his companions' hands. Not surprisingly, the three people's playing cards were in the shape of a mirror, and nothing happened.

...like some kind of reminder.

-----------------------

The author has something to say: Little Maomi just runs around like a cat.

This chapter is a bit of an XP explosion. I was so excited when writing about the popular guest Fei that I didn't know what the world was. I was also so fascinated by the barrage in the next chapter that I didn't know what the world was. In summary: exciting (not really).
