Chapter 80 Anonymous Text Message (5) Feiyu realized something, really...

The hour and minute hands coincided, pointing to twelve. It was exactly midnight. The evening breeze rustled the branches, growing increasingly violent and chaotic. The swaying shadows of the trees were reflected on the glass like the outstretched claws of a monster.

The interior began to change. Countless hyphae climbed up the wallpaper, weaving into a root network with unknown meanings. The mycelium covering the entire room turned it into a hotbed, a nest specifically for cultivating alienated monsters.

Black fluid dripped down from the top of his head, sticky and strange, looking more like a cold cave woven from mycelium, not allowing any extra light to penetrate.

It seems that the most important thing is not the changes in the room. Fei Yu realized something. The real clue is the symbol behind the entire room, the cave.

The key information about the consciousness body is in the cave.

Fei Yu was not sure which cave this clue referred to, and there was no direction information. There should be quite a few caves on the seaside, but he would eventually find this place.

A pale face appeared beneath the mycelium, gradually becoming clearer. Tubular, intertwined veins were imprinted into the bloodless skin. The surging mycelium wrapped around the human body, forming new flesh and blood.

The monster's alienated body continued to expand until it could no longer fit into the limited living room, so it broke the glass and prepared to leave.

The mycelium entangled like a flexible snake, trying to swallow the prey whole, flesh and bones. Fei Yu took out a dagger to cut the mycelium and threw it out, but was stopped halfway by the derivatives left by the alienated monster.

The deformed and rotten flesh collapsed into a crooked shape on the floor, with the dagger stuck on it, as if it was bitten by tight rubber and refused to let go. Fei Yu quickly took out the dagger and kicked the thing away before it pounced on her.

Something similar to liquid rubber was stuck to the soles of his shoes, so that when he stepped on the floor again, he could still feel the slippery texture under his feet. Fei Yu stepped onto the windowsill with a normal expression, then leaned out most of his body, tilted his head back and found the alien monster on the rooftop.

"That thing's crawling into the corridor! It's going downstairs!" The deep, clear voice was a distance away, and even with the volume raised, it was still a little unclear. "It's too sticky for me to catch! My abilities can't handle it, and props are useless!"

Feiyu shouted back, "Just stop it! Everything will be fine once I finish it off!"

He exerted force on his feet, jumped through the window and jumped down the stairs. The next moment he left, the window of the room had been smashed to pieces by the swinging tentacles.

Bang...bang...!

Shi Yu was awakened by several loud noises.

The commotion upstairs was so loud it was like someone was tearing the house apart. It was even louder than last night. Shi Yu didn't know how he had managed to sleep the night before. During dinner, he even heard the guests say there were gunshots and explosions.

Shi Yu knew who did it without thinking too much. It must be them dealing with the noise made by the monster.

After waking up in the middle of the night, Shi Yu took out his mobile phone, turned on the screen and checked the time. It was just after twelve o'clock.

He didn't hear the sound of knocking on the wall like last night, but the sound of running water. However, it seemed that crawling would be more accurate to describe it, as if some liquid object was crawling across the ground, leaving wet marks all over the ground.

Shi Yu got out of bed, walked to the door with light steps, stretched out his hand and hesitated whether to open the door. In the end, he did not turn the handle, but took a few steps back to keep a safe distance.

There was no knock on the door as expected.

Shi Yu lowered his head and saw clearly what was overflowing into the room. Rotten flesh and blood seeped through the crack in the door and gathered into a strange shapeless mass. He also saw tubular filaments simulating mycelium spreading out continuously.

The height of the flesh and blood almost touched the ceiling. Shi Yu's brain, which was still a little slow because he had just woken up, suddenly woke up. He stepped back in fear, and then the door was forced open, and the monster in front of the young man exploded.

It shattered into countless small pools of liquid, which squirmed and eventually gathered together, struggling to crawl towards the glass window, like a rising tide flowing over the windowsill, until finally all of it disappeared.

If it weren't for the water marks left on the edge of the window, Shi Yu would almost think it was an illusion.

Shi Yu was still staring blankly at Chen Que who appeared at the critical moment. The person opposite him had already rushed past him and reached the window. The young man heard the monster's faint growl and a familiar, vague human voice, and he caught the word "cave".

He took two steps at a time and came to Chen Que's side. Just as he was about to climb up to the window to see what was happening over there with Fei Yu, he was grabbed by the arm and pushed back to where he was. Shi Yu turned around somewhat confused.

Shen Que explained Fei Yu's words concisely: "He will handle it here, he can handle it alone, let's go to the cave to find clues about the consciousness."

"W-what..." Shi Yu was a little confused at first, but then he quickly reacted and knew that his brother would definitely be able to handle it. He quickly got into the situation, "Which cave? There should be more than one cave by the sea."

Shen Que shook his head: “No, look for them first, don’t miss any of them.”

Shi Yu: "Okay."

Before leaving, he glanced out the window, and after a brief pause, he withdrew his gaze. Shi Yu followed Chen Que out of the room.

As Chen Que went downstairs, he told Fei Yu, "We'll go there first. I'll use a red marker to mark the entrance of each cave we've visited. You can just go to the next one."

He hadn't expected Feiyu to spare the extra attention to reply, but she still managed a few words, suggesting things weren't too troublesome at the moment: "Okay, I understand."

In fact, Fei Yu is indeed quite leisurely now.

He stood on a thick branch, looking up at the mutated monster on the rooftop terrace. The arrogant monster had restrained its nature and was staring vigilantly at its fellow creature hiding under the dense leaves, mixed with human scent.

It seemed a little confused, not quite understanding why this strange guy gave it a feeling of fear and deliciousness.

Fei Yu saw the hesitation of the alienated monster. Through the intersecting layers of branches, the few gaps allowed him to clearly see the tentacles swinging wildly in the air, and the mycelium was like a spider web connecting different green leaves.

The mycelium spread rapidly and soon covered the tree, including the branches that supported the Jadeite, and then the entire tree collapsed to the ground.

The tall pine tree collapsed, and the mycelium fell on it like a thin black spider web. The alienated monster stretched out its tentacles and flipped the tree to the other side, but it did not find any human beings, and continued to swing restlessly.

Behind it, shadows rose high like overlapping waves, gradually forming a tall and thin figure. Everything happened silently. He rolled his eyes, stretched out his hand, and his cold fingertips touched the mycelium surrounding the monster's neck.

The tentacles, which were part of the alienated monster, were made entirely of flesh, blood, and mycelium. When Fei Yu touched them with his fingertips, he felt a slippery and wet feeling. His eyes paused, as if he was thinking about whether to get rid of it now.

"Where is the cave?" Fei Yu knew that it could understand his question. The lid of the oil barrel was unscrewed. He lifted the barrel and poured gasoline all over the monster. At the same time, he lit the lighter.

The rising flames danced, and the scorching temperature made the alienated monster feel afraid. It suddenly jumped up, and the mycelium floated in the air, as if it was about to strangle his neck, and its wildly dancing tentacles crashed into his position.

A crack appeared on it, revealing countless sharp teeth, trying hard to bite off a bloody chunk from his body. Fei Yu threw the oil barrel with force, and the hard metal shell collided with the flesh and blood, causing his hands to tremble.

Fei Yu gripped the hilt of the knife again, his hand still extremely steady. A silver arc of light flashed across, and the knife's movement was swift and brutal, cutting off the tentacles that were rushing towards him.

He took the initiative to rush forward, stepped on the thin mycelium, and before the newly grown tentacles could catch up again, the shadows first wrapped around his body. Those things missed, and Fei Yu's figure disappeared on the spot.

He appeared again above the mutated monster. Fei Yu turned his wrist and was dragged down while the tip of the knife pierced into its head, and blood splattered all over his hands.

Fei Yu didn't even blink. He gripped the hilt tightly, increased his strength, and slashed the weapon in his hand to the side until most of its head fell to the ground.

The mycelium tried to repair it but failed. The shadow overturned, suppressing them even more thoroughly. Feiyu raised his leg and stepped on the remaining half of the monster's head. With his elbow resting on his knee, he continued to ask with his eyes downcast, "Which cave is connected to the consciousness?"

The trembling tentacles of the alienated monster finally pointed to a certain location. Fei Yu took a look, and after confirming, he retracted his gaze and stood on the spacious platform again.

He flipped open the lid of the lighter, smiled slightly at its horrified gaze, and then threw the lighter away.

Flames shot up into the sky. Fei Yu stood on the edge of the rooftop. After Chen Que's explanation, he took a step forward and allowed himself to be pulled straight to the ground.

Fei Yu confirmed the situation. Chen Que and his team were exploring the cave on the other side. They had not had time to look at the direction he mentioned and the surrounding area.

"I'll go first and leave my gun at the door. If it's not there, I'll go to the next cave. If it is, you can just take it and use it for self-defense." Fei Yu left these words and rushed over.

He quickly found the first cave following the direction pointed by the mutated monster. Unfortunately, he didn't find much. Fei Yu walked through several caves but didn't find what he wanted.

Finally, he stood in front of a natural cave that was farther away and colder than the other caves. He looked deeper as if he had sensed something. Fei Yu took a few steps closer, touched the slippery wall, and his fingers were stained with a sticky gelatinous substance.

Fei Yu smiled instead, took out his pistol and put it on the ground, then walked into the cave.

Looks like this is it.
