Chapter 619 Venting
Harry hurried away, afraid that if he continued to talk, he would not be able to help but do something strange. He did not want to leave Ron with the last impression of him hugging him and crying, with snot and tears.
"Professor." He said breathlessly, his heart pounding.
Felix nodded, his face still expressionless, "It's best to wait until everyone is gone, I don't want to attract attention."
Harry watched Ron leave with the crowd, and looked at them in confusion before leaving. Finally, the cheerful and lively atmosphere gradually disappeared, and Harry's mood inevitably became depressed with the empty and silent auditorium.
After a few minutes, Felix took Harry away.
Harry followed behind in a trance. Those few minutes made him turn over the emotions that he had been deliberately suppressing during the summer vacation, and they surged violently in his mind. He felt like a drowning person, losing hope of survival bit by bit. As they passed the dim hallway and walked towards the spiral staircase, Harry felt a little strange. Shouldn't they go outside?
Then, he suddenly felt a sharp gaze staring at him from behind. He turned his head sharply and saw a huge, blurry shadow standing at the dark underground staircase, standing still and confronting him.
Harry tripped over the steps, and when he looked up again, the shadow had disappeared. His hands and feet felt cold.
Felix stopped and looked at the empty staircase, thinking.
"Severus..."
"Is that Snape?" Harry said in shock.
"It's Professor Snape... maybe because he's worried." Felix said uncertainly. They went up the stairs. Harry seemed absent-minded, with complicated thoughts intertwined in his mind. There was one thing Harry didn't say. He just thought of Ron's uncle Bilius.
Bilius died twenty-four hours after seeing the ominous sign - a big black dog.
But there is more than one omen of death, Harry thought angrily. Thanks to Trelawney, he learned a lot of "ominous" signs in class. This happened in his third year. Harry was scared to death by Sirius's Animagus. This was all thanks to the mysterious Divination professor.
Fortunately, he didn't have to take her class this year.
But then Harry felt depressed. Would he be able to sit in the classroom and attend class tomorrow? Maybe this was just a luxury for him, unless he turned into a ghost like Moaning Myrtle... I wonder if Dudley would be able to see him then?
"Keep up."
Harry found that he was half a flight behind Professor Happ, so he quickened his pace.
"Where are we going, professor?" In order to stop himself from thinking too much, Harry asked random questions.
"Room 7."
"Room 7?"
"Where else do you think you're going?" Felix answered casually.
"I thought... well, it would be some hidden cave, or dungeon or something."
"Ah, you guessed it, didn't you?" Felix smiled. They stopped at the door of classroom 7. "Dumbledore should be inside." When Harry saw Professor Happ's fingertips condensing dense magic patterns, he was surprised.
"Necessary measures," Felix's smile became more obvious. "In fact, you can also use a key to open the door, but I think this method is more convenient."
"Do the students have to come in this way too?" Harry asked. He suspected that no one except Hermione could come in.
"Hey, didn't Dumbledore mention it at the dinner? Classroom 7 is not open to the public this year. Some of its functions are placed next door... Let's go." The door opened, and Felix opened it wide to let Harry go in first.
Harry walked in silently.
"Is Voldemort imprisoned here?" he asked suddenly.
"Yes, we are here."
Harry thought he would see a ring or a cage, and then Dumbledore and Professor Happ would be the only two spectators watching him fight Voldemort, but the reality was quite different. Dumbledore stood steadily in front of a two-story building, his hands folded in front of his beard, humming happily, as if he had not yet withdrawn from the cheerful atmosphere of the dinner.
"Harry," Dumbledore said in a light tone, "I know you are full of questions, but I hope you can stay calm and don't scream next."
He said and made way.
Harry's eyes widened, and a scream was spinning in his throat - he saw Voldemort, his limbs hanging limply towards the ground, his whole body suspended in mid-air, swallowed by a silver transparent Ouroboros that was even larger than the basilisk, and slowly rotating.
The room was flashing with colorful spots of light, which merged into the body of the Ouroboros like a dream.
"This is--"
"Voldemort's private prison. He is completely trapped, from magic to body, including consciousness." Felix said briefly, "Feel it carefully."
Harry was a little confused, so he could only clench his wand.
Felix and Dumbledore looked at each other. Dumbledore whispered, "No, Harry, you don't need a wand-feel it with your heart."
Harry's heart moved, and he found something unusual. "I... uh," he looked at the two uncertainly, "I seem to be able to sense that snake..."
Felix smiled.
"Because there is your thought in it. This Ouroboros Patronus--let's call it this name for the time being--it is actually composed of multiple magics similar to Patronus. You have read the information I gave you, so you should understand it, right?"
Harry thought about it seriously.
"The Patronus requires positive emotions, but Professor, you can use other emotions instead. You have demonstrated it in the club before... but they can still come together?"
Harry imagined in his mind a scene where several--even a dozen Patronuses of different appearances were put together. For the first time, he felt that his brain was not enough. He didn't know if the Patronus book he wrote was out of date.
"It's difficult," Felix sighed, "Some things have little to do with magic. It's no wonder that those little guys don't obey each other - they are all products of strong emotions. I must find a common goal for them, a leader-like figure."
Harry was stunned for a moment, and he asked tentatively: "You mean... me?"
"It's your patronus." Felix corrected: "How should I put it? Emotions will not deceive people, especially yourself. Although I also hate Voldemort from the bottom of my heart, it is still difficult to burst out with strong emotions wholeheartedly when facing him..."
Harry understood it completely.
"...So you collected my Patronus in the last period of last school year?"
"Yes, but it's all used up."
"Used up?" Harry repeated hoarsely, he didn't understand why his voice suddenly began to tremble: "So you called me here because of this - replenish emotional energy? Only I can do it, yes... Let me think, because he killed my parents and wanted to kill me, but unfortunately left a scar on my forehead, oh, I almost forgot, the scar is the most important... There is a small piece of Voldemort's soul hidden in it."
Felix looked surprised and couldn't help exchanging a look with Dumbledore. Does that mean you told Harry?
"Did Severus tell you?" Dumbledore asked, the joy on his face disappeared.
"I saw it myself, through his memory, yes, I know it all." Harry gritted his teeth and said, his tone unconsciously raised, "It was the day you caught Voldemort. It seems that Snape didn't tell you, I guess he didn't know how to deal with this situation, just like me..."
"Who else did you tell this, Harry? This is very important." Dumbledore asked with a serious expression.
"Don't worry, I didn't tell anyone. I used the brain block technique you gave me," Harry said excitedly. He was trembling all over, but it was not because of fear. "I only have one question now, when will I die?"
"Harry--" Dumbledore said with difficulty.
"I understand. This is my mission and the whole meaning of life, right?" Harry shouted. The long-term repression finally found a breakthrough at this moment, allowing him to vent freely. "But before that, I think I can live for a while, because... because of my patronus."
"Expecto Patronus!" He shouted and raised his wand. A majestic stag rushed out from the tip of the wand. It was like a real life, a real patronus, blocking its master. Bright light burst out from its body, and the whole classroom 7 shook.
Harry calmed down. He waved his wand, and the silver stag kept jumping in the air. At this time, the Ouroboros moved, spitting out its tail, and then the huge snake eyes drooped and stared at the stag. It had something he longed for.
The silver patronus rushed into the mouth of the Ouroboros without hesitation and merged with it.
The Ouroboros suddenly raised its head, as if roaring. Two rays of light shot out from its eyes, and its body began to twist violently, causing Voldemort on the tip of its tail to tremble as well. But the next second, the Ouroboros swallowed Voldemort and its tail again.
Classroom 7 fell silent.
Harry spoke, his tone was deathly calm:
"I've been thinking about this problem for some time. I kept calculating the dates in my mind, and I thought about it on my birthday. Maybe you would come to me on the first day of summer vacation, but you didn't. Then Professor Happ found me, but he did it for Mr. Bagshot. I thought the bonfire party of the Order of the Phoenix was a good opportunity, but none of you showed up... I thought to myself, yes, you might be kind and want me to celebrate my 16th birthday..."
"Did hope ignite in my heart?"
"Maybe, but it disappeared a little bit in the end. Before I came, I was ready. But it seems that now is not the time. I just hope you can make a decision quickly, because... because I may suddenly change my mind one day and no longer want to die. Give me an exact date before I change my mind."
Harry couldn't go on. He saw Dumbledore, who was also in tears, through his wet eyes.
