Ron and Draco stared at each other in a strange silence.
"You're out at night, Malfoy!" Ron accused him first.
"Are you talking about yourself, Weasley?" Draco said casually.
There was another short silence, and Draco spoke up, his eyes sparkling, "Don't pretend, Weasley. We are all for the same purpose, no one should say anything about anyone, you don't want to get into trouble, right?"
Ron touched the potion bottle in his arms and stopped talking.
"Meow~"
A cat appeared at some point, squatting on the windowsill, bathing in the moonlight, staring at them with yellow eyes.
"Go away - go away, you stupid cat!" Ron immediately became anxious, he whispered to drive it away, waving at it.
However, Mrs. Norris glanced at him arrogantly, its soft and smooth gray fur glowed silver in the moonlight, her eyes passed Ron and saw Draco Malfoy behind him.
A wand stretched out, the tip of the wand flashing red light.
Ron pushed Draco away, deflecting his wand and casting a spell on the wall -
"What are you doing?" Ron said angrily.
"I just wanted it to sleep for a while, you wanted it to attract Filch?" Draco said calmly, "but you - stupid Weasley, let it run away."
"You are stupid!" Ron cursed softly, turned his head to look at the window, which was empty, and then looked at the corridor, barely making out a silver-gray shadow disappearing around the corner in the dark corridor.
Ron was panicking, shaking the half-bottle of potion in his arms, and sweat immediately broke out.
"What should I do?" He groaned, secretly regretting that if he had brought Harry's Invisibility Cloak tonight, he could have pretended to be a ghost to scare Malfoy, or the Marauder's Map, but these two things were pressed under Harry's box.
It was too late to say anything now.
"What else can we do!" Draco glanced at Ron and said coldly, "Of course we should run away and wait to be caught? I warn you, if you are caught, don't give me away--"
"Go!" Ron said.
"What?"
"Go," Ron repeated in a low voice, and waved his hands at Draco in annoyance just like he had just driven Mrs. Norris away, and his other hand tightly grasped the bottle in his arms, "Hurry up, what are you waiting for!"
Draco had taken a few steps, but stopped at this moment, looking at him with a very surprised look, his gray eyes rolling, and a strange idea came to his mind.
"You want to stay," he glanced at the door of classroom 7 behind the two of them, turned his head again, and seemed to be weighing something in his heart, and then he said slowly, "You want to stay and hide in classroom 7, and Filch, that old idiot, can't open the door."
"You think too much, I'm leaving now," Ron said, but his feet didn't show any intention of moving.
Draco sneered, walked a few steps forward, leaned on the window sill where Mrs. Norris had just stood, and said slowly: "Then let's just wait like this until Filch comes, how about that?"
Ron looked at him angrily.
"What are you looking at, Weasley? Do you want me to curse you?" Draco said.
"You dare not, Malfoy." Ron said, he glanced nervously at the dark corridor. It was quiet there, but he knew that Filch would appear in three minutes at most. Maybe he had been awakened now, and was panting and holding a kerosene lamp, rushing over with a ferocious face.
How much time had passed, ten seconds, or thirty seconds?
He had to make a decision -
"Damn ferret!" he said angrily, turned around and strode towards the door of classroom seven. Behind him, Draco laughed triumphantly, dragged out a long voice, and said in a commanding tone: "Hurry up, Weasley! You don't think you are in a potions class?"
Ron was so angry that he trembled all over. He wanted to do anything and curse Malfoy's face, but he held back. He waved his wand in the air, trying to draw a magic rune. But he couldn't calm down at all now, and failed twice in a row.
After waiting for a while, Draco couldn't sit still anymore, and came over to urge him, "What tricks are you playing, waiting for Filch or the night watch professor to wipe us out?"
"Don't bother me, you're disrupting my train of thought!" Ron said with a frown. He failed to draw again, and half of the magic rune flashed and disappeared.
Draco stood aside impatiently, looking around from time to time and listening attentively.
After about two minutes, there was a sound of climbing stairs in the distance, and someone spoke in a trembling tone of excitement: "Are we almost there, my dear? They won't have time to run away, I promise you--"
Draco's expression became terrified, and he couldn't help but take two steps back and hide himself in the shadows. The sound was getting closer and closer. He looked at the corridor and then at Ron who was concentrating on outlining the runes, wondering whether he should run away alone--
"Wes--"
"Done!" Ron shouted excitedly, imprinting a shining rune on the door. The door opened silently, and a crack of light could be seen pouring out from inside. He turned his head and said angrily: "Malfoy, if you speak to me in an imperative tone again, I will--"
Draco kicked Ron on the butt and kicked him into the door. He squeezed in and hurriedly closed the door.
The bright light in classroom 7 made him a little dizzy for a moment. He put his ear against the cold door and tried to listen to the movement outside. Maybe it was because of the spell, but he couldn't hear any sound at this time.
On the other side, Ron carefully put the potion in his arms on the ground and rushed towards Draco.
"Damn Malfoy! You kicked me, I've tolerated you for a long time!"
Draco turned his head contemptuously and was punched in the face, "Are you crazy!?" He shouted and raised his wand, but Ron had already aimed at him and rushed to the ground, making Draco see stars. Ron took the opportunity to punch him twice in the hateful face. Draco screamed in pain and kicked Ron away.
"This is Malfoy's return!" He said viciously.
Ron rushed over again with his head down, and the two of them wrestled. The wands in their hands fell.
Soon, Ron took the upper hand with his size, and locked his arms around Draco's neck. Their faces were equally red, but Draco was holding his breath. Ron shouted, "Malfoy, I tell you, I have a temper too!"
Draco rolled his eyes and struggled desperately: "I didn't mean to... Filch is here..."
"Filch?" Ron was stunned for a moment, and the strength in his hands unconsciously weakened. Draco took the opportunity to break free and breathe heavily.
A few minutes later,
the two separated far apart, pointed their wands at each other vigilantly, and their faces were bruised and swollen. Ron laughed. Both of Malfoy's eyes were blackened by him. His carefully combed hair was messy, and his gorgeous robes were torn into several long strips. He looked embarrassed.
Although he looked terrible, he was in a particularly good mood now.
"According to the rules of the club, you can't trip up others when you cooperate."
"Wait for me, Weasley!"
Draco glared at Ron hatefully, walked up the black steps, took a few deep breaths, reached out to touch the black suspended door, and the next second, his figure disappeared.
Ron laughed out loud, and he said in a happy voice: "This robe really suits you, Malfoy."
...
Inside the black suspended door.
Ron spat out a mouthful of green sticky liquid, and brushed aside the spider legs hanging on his shoulders, muttering, "The seventeenth batch... I want to see how many more times... Why are there spiders with twelve legs... I bet Professor Hep must have failed the Care of Magical Creatures class..."
After experiencing the sea of spiders twice, Ron was able to accurately judge the location. He stepped on the raised rocks, chose the best route, and left early before the spiders climbed up.
"I wonder if there are chicken legs for breakfast? I don't want to eat porridge..."
He thought nonsensically and finally crossed the rocky beach. On a platform, a golden halo shone brightly.
Ron looked at the golden light on the platform with an obsessed face. There seemed to be something inside. He couldn't help but stretch out his hand. The moment he touched the card, he became stupid and dumb -
his vision was infinitely raised, as if he had turned into a ghost. He first saw the black suspended door, then Malfoy, and finally saw the entire spacious classroom No. 7. But this was not the end. He saw the crisscross corridors in the castle, and then he passed through layers of walls, rising continuously. Soon, the entire Hogwarts Castle turned into a matchbox in his eyes.
He was already in the black night sky, climbing continuously, surrounded by biting cold wind and clouds.
Hogwarts had become as small as a fingernail, and even the Black Lake was very small, as if he could drink it all in one gulp. The continuous black mountains came into view, filling his vision.
He saw the shrinking Hogsmeade village, with a few scattered lights. Maybe it was Professor Hepp's magic lamp? Ron thought, but they disappeared immediately. He was still rising, and the world below turned into large patches of color. He tried to distinguish that the dark green was the forest, the dark brown was the hills, and the blue... was the ocean!
He actually saw the ocean. Ron stared, feeling that he was dreaming, but this dream was so clear that he couldn't forget it even if he wanted to. He also saw a brightly lit gathering area, and wondered if it was a Muggle city. Harry said that a big city like London would have many lights on even at night...
"Is that Britain?"
Ron frowned, and saw a small piece of land, or rather an island, separated by a narrow strait, and then there was a vast land. He felt that something in his mind was touched, but he didn't know what it was. He just continued to rise -
for a long time, he could only see the ocean and the land.
Then, he passed through the thick clouds and was worried that he would freeze to death. Suddenly, his eyes lit up, and the golden light shone on the white clouds, reflecting a golden glow. Is this sunrise?
For the first time, Ron looked at the world under his feet, looking at... a standard sphere with a blue main body. A small half of it was hidden in the shadow, which should be night, and the other half was very bright, and he could see the land, the ocean, and the light clouds, which was daytime. He stretched out his hand, wanting to grab something, but he just kept moving away.
The blue sphere turned into a dot, and more stars appeared. "The moon, Mars, Venus, Jupiter... Merlin's beard!" Ron opened his mouth wide. He saw the complete solar system, just like the constellation models sold in Diagon Alley. He felt that he would never forget their positions in his life.
Then he saw the constellations. He had never understood the names of these constellations before, and thought that names like "Canis Major" were nonsense, but he really saw a big dog in the deep space of the universe, composed of countless stars. He even saw the brightest star in Canis Major - Sirius.
The scene after that was beyond his comprehension. He saw bright whirlpools and a large network of densely packed light spots... Then he fell down, much faster than when he came. Everything he had seen before was going back, whirlpools, nebulae, constellations, blue planets, land and oceans, and his sight kept getting closer until he fell into the ancient castle of Hogwarts.
"Ah--"
Ron cried out, panting, holding a golden card in his hand.
