"You all have the ability to draw runes without the constraints of rune cards... but this is only the first step. You still need to master the magical imagery of ancient runes, which is not an easy task. Unless -" Felix stared at the twenty or so people in front of him, "take some radical methods."
"Mr. Hep, what do you mean -" Kingsley asked on behalf of the others.
"Take some risks, show courage... you need to feel it deeply." Felix said seriously, more than ten feet away, the wand in his hand cut through the air like a sword, accompanied by a light "whoosh", a bright orange-red flame rose from behind him and twisted into a long flaming snake. Kingsley
's eyes widened and he quickly took two steps back. Other Aurors and strikers also drew their wands and pointed at the flaming snake standing upright, and Felix Hep standing in front of the flaming snake. His face was calm, and the wand in his hand had disappeared into his sleeve.
Everyone calmed down gradually. Tonks looked at the giant snake in front of her with flames in amazement. It was nearly a hundred feet tall, and its long body was made of flames. Every scale was burning fiercely.
She took two steps forward, and Kingsley shouted behind her, "Tonks!" The long flaming snake let out a silent roar, then fell suddenly, and hit the ground with a "bang". The shape of the snake disappeared, leaving a straight flame channel on the field. The
channel was about six or seven feet wide, and the position where the snake's head fell was just in front of Tonks. Its tail extended backwards, wrapping Felix in it, making his figure looming in the flames.
"Gentlemen and ladies, walk through the flames with me and feel the power of the flame rune."
Felix said while standing in the flames.
The Aurors were stunned. Kingsley frowned and asked slowly, "Mr. Hep, is this some kind of sleight of hand?" However, Felix did not speak, perhaps because he did not want to explain, or perhaps the fact that he was standing there was enough to explain the problem.
Tonks took a step forward.
"Wait, Tonks--" Kingsley said immediately. He felt the situation was difficult. Neither he, Scrimgeour, nor the Minister of Magic could control the overall situation. Especially when facing those who have shown great power, their behavior is uncontrollable.
His role is to deal with these "accidents".
Tonks looked back at Kingsley, and then at Felix who was silent in the flames-he was slightly tilting his head, watching silently, looking at her and everyone behind her with inquiring eyes, as if he was very curious about their choices.
She began to get excited.
"I won't be hurt." Tonks said with certainty. She took another step forward, only one step away from the flames. The scorching flames burned fiercely, forming hot winds, and she smelled the smell of burnt hair. She suddenly hesitated, and her thoughts became uncertain. She couldn't help but look at the man in the flames.
"I won't hurt anyone actively." The man said to her.
Her heart was pounding. Under the gaze of everyone, Tonks closed her eyes and stepped into the flames. Instead of the sharp pain she had imagined, she felt waves of warmth. There were rising and falling exclamations around her. She opened her eyes, and at this moment, the flames looked completely different in her sight.
She saw flame runes one by one. They were like some kind of elves, burning and jumping, transforming between the fiery red rune symbols and the flames. Felix's right hand was glowing slightly, and wisps of flames were emanating from that arm, and rune symbols were drilling into it one by one...
Tonks couldn't help but stay in a daze. Felix reminded her in a gentle voice: "Feel the emotions of the flames, feel the power of the runes."
Tonks stretched out her palm, and a bright and beautiful flame jumped onto her hand. Her arm shuddered, but she didn't move away. The flames stuck to her hand, dancing in her palm, and then turned into a shining rune.
A feeling of joy surged in her heart, and she knew what to do next. She called for more runes in her heart, and soon, wisps of flames surrounded her, forming an airtight fire cocoon.
"This is--" Kingsley widened his eyes. Out of trust in Dumbledore, he walked in second. The flames did not hurt him, brushing his robes gently. Then more people stepped into the flames. They were still safe and sound, and were now curiously looking at the bright flames around them.
There was an incredible expression in their eyes.
Was it an illusion? Kingsley thought, and at this moment, a scream came from behind him, "Yaxley!" Someone shouted. Kingsley turned his head sharply, and Yaxley retreated from the flames. He seemed to have suffered great damage. Although there was no trace of burns on his skin, his clothes were billowing with smoke.
Yaxley sat on the ground with a painful expression, his eyes were full of fear and anger. "What did you do!" he shouted.
"This only means that you have not been screened." Felix said calmly, "You don't think that I will hand over my power without any restrictions, do you?"
"Mr. Hep," Kingsley said with a headache, "Our agreement did not mention this. If you have any requirements, you should at least tell us in advance."
"Because I don't think this will be an obstacle." Felix said lightly, "People who are full of malice towards the ancient runes will naturally not be recognized by the runes. You should have been prepared for this."
"You mean, Yaxley--" Kingsley looked at him hesitantly, and then looked at Yaxley sitting on the ground with a painful expression, and a huge wave of waves rose in his heart.
"Maybe I should talk to this Mr. Yaxley. There may be a misunderstanding between us." Felix said with a curled mouth. Yaxley, he remembered this name.
"No misunderstanding." Yaxley stood up with gritted teeth, "I just simply don't like the ancient runes! Sorry, Kingsley-it seems that I shouldn't be here." He limped away.
Kingsley hesitated for a second or two, "I'm sorry, Mr. Hep, I need to confirm his condition--"
"There will be nothing wrong with his body."
"I don't doubt it," Kingsley said in a deep voice, "but--" He paused and said to the others, "Don't let Yaxley affect you, I'll go out and see what's going on." He walked out of the flame corridor and chased towards the door.
Felix spoke calmly, calming the doubtful Aurors and strikers. "The principle of this magic is very simple... I amplified the emotions of the flame runes so that you can better feel the magical imagery of the runes. But inevitably, the runes are contaminated with my own will, and anyone who conflicts with this emotion will be rejected..."
After a while, Kingsley came back briskly.
"The therapist said it's nothing serious, just a shock, Scrimgeour gave him two days off." He said to everyone, they breathed a sigh of relief, and at the same time felt sorry for Yaxley. There were a few more fire cocoons on the field, and wisps of flames merged into them.
Felix nodded, looking at Kingsley with a hesitant expression, "Anything else?"
"Scrimgeour would like to invite you to lunch."
