Felix stayed in Snape's office until the end of the first class in the afternoon, and then hurriedly left to teach the seventh-year wizards.
He stood on the podium and looked at the little wizards from the four colleges below.
There were less than twenty of them in total, "Tsk tsk! It's too few."
As early as the beginning of the school year, Felix had communicated with Professor McGonagall that he could "appropriately" relax the students' grades and allow some little wizards with A grades to enter his advanced class.
The reason for doing so was also with the idea of "one more is one more", maybe he could rely on his strong personal charm to trick one more little wizard into joining the ancient magic rune research family.
But before he came, this course had been tepid and the response was very dull. Except for those wizards who were interested in studying ancient documents or wanted to work in Gringotts or the Ministry of Magic's pension department, others were not interested in it.
So in his seventh grade class, there were either top students who would not let go of any mistakes and would choose as many as possible; or poor students who were lucky enough to get an A (pass) in Ancient Magic.
For example, Marcus Flint was a typical poor student. After entering the seventh grade, he only chose two courses in total - Care of Magical Creatures and Ancient Magic. Among
them, Ancient Magic was only allowed to enter because of Felix's opening, otherwise he would have been able to take one course.
As far as Felix knew, the seventh grade Care of Magical Creatures class would add a lot of knowledge about raising and breeding rare magical creatures, and it would require consulting and memorizing a lot of information. With Marcus Flint's brain comparable to that of a troll, Felix really didn't know how he could pass.
On the podium, Felix waved his wand, causing more than a dozen papers to fly in all directions and fall in front of the corresponding little wizards.
He commented: "In general, your grades are still improving steadily. But I must remind you that according to the previous NEWTs assessment standards, you must translate a complete ancient document."
"This means that during your exam, there may be quite obscure ancient magic words, and you can't find the corresponding knowledge even if you look through the five-year ancient magic textbooks."
"Professor, how should we deal with it?" said a Ravenclaw witch, who was wearing a pair of very recognizable, thick glasses.
"Miss Vera, this involves some exam skills, such as guessing the meaning of words."
"Guess the meaning of words?" Vera pushed her glasses and asked in confusion.
"In the ancient magic textbooks for grades six and seven, a considerable amount of space is used to explain the evolution of ancient magic words. For example, Eoh has gone through seven versions, and the meaning and writing style of each version are slightly different."
"But in fact, as long as you understand its evolution logic, you will find that its core meaning has never really changed."
Vera nodded. She knew all this knowledge.
Professor Hep continued, "So, as long as you know one version of the ancient rune, you can make reasonable guesses based on its core meaning and context."
"Even for runes that you have never come into contact with, you can make reasonable guesses based on the word form. This requires the use of the more common 27 evolutionary forms..."
"Of course, the runes with magical power are not in this range and need to be memorized separately, but the number is not large."
Marcus next to her looked desperate. What are you talking about?
Why do I know every word, but when they are connected together, it's like a heavenly book?
"I understand, Professor Hep." Vera said excitedly.
In this class, she is the only one who truly loves ancient runes and is determined to take this path, but her research direction is document translation.
This is actually influenced by her family-her grandfather is the vice president of the Ancient Rune Association.
When she went home during the Christmas holiday and mentioned that the new ancient rune professor at Hogwarts was Felix Hep, her grandfather's expression of blowing his beard and staring was really interesting.
On the one hand, he cursed Felix as "a heretic who has gone astray", but on the other hand, he shyly admitted that "he does have real skills, you can learn from him", which made her put Professor Hepp on the same level as her grandfather.
"Let's continue--" After solving the daily questions, Felix's eyes fell on Marcus: "Flint, your grades are always hovering around A (passing), I'm worried about you."
Marcus had a sad face. He really spent a lot of effort on ancient magic runes. Even when he was training on the Quidditch field, he put a textbook on ancient magic runes in his schoolbag-although he only opened it once in total.
But at least his attitude was there. He didn't take other classes so seriously. But unfortunately, he was really not cut out for this. Marcus wanted to quit, but he trembled when he saw Felix and couldn't muster up the courage at all.
"Teach, professor, I will try my best." Marcus said tremblingly.
"Very good, feel free to ask me any questions."
Felix began to formally teach. In this small classroom, the top students and the poor students were clearly distinguished. The top students became more and more energetic as they listened, while the poor students became more and more confused as they listened. Marcus was an exception among them - he was a poor student, but he forced himself to show the spirit of a top student.
A class passed quickly.
Felix left with a stack of parchment. In his hand were the homework of seventh-grade students.
Today, he received a total of holiday homework for three grades. Felix was ready to give full play to his assistant's enthusiasm for learning and let her do her best. He handed over all the homework for the third and fourth grades to her.
In the evening, Felix casually flipped through Professor Flitwick's Christmas gift - a manuscript of ancient magic.
There were two kinds of handwriting on the parchment, one was an extremely old and long-standing ancient magic rune, and the other was Professor Flitwick's supplement and annotation, which contained his research ideas on this magic.
Very inspiring.
However, according to Professor Flitwick, he had no special talent in ancient magic, so he and the former ancient magic professor, Barbling, collaborated on this incomplete ancient magic. When Professor Barbling left Hogwarts for vacation, the research came to a standstill.
Giving the manuscript to Felix this time was also an invitation for collaborative research.
Felix waved his wand, and the hazy light blue light, like a galaxy, passed through the air and landed on a feather pen.
The brown feather pen first turned into a toothpick, and then quickly expanded to the size of a cane. As Felix continued to inject magic power, the feather pen grew to about seven feet and refused to move.
"Well, the effect is similar to combining the two magics of shrinking and magnifying, but it does not have the high consumption, high danger, and high intensity of ancient magic."
"Instead, it is more like modern simplified magic, with a limit to its power and magic consumption."
"Is it because the part that makes up for it is the idea of simplifying magic?"
Felix wrote and drew on the parchment, preparing for a protracted battle. Restoring ancient magic is not an easy task.
"I really wish I had a teacher." He thought with some emotion before going to bed.
