The next morning, freezing rain mixed with snowflakes fell from the sky, forming a smooth and transparent layer of ice on the ground. The young wizards had to move carefully across the courtyard and open space.
"Ouch!"
Ron, who had just been discharged from the hospital, stumbled and fell directly to the ground. He struggled to get up. The ground was very slippery. Fortunately, Harry pulled him up.
He enviously watched the twins conjure up a pair of ice skates for him and flexibly shuttled around the students in the courtyard.
"Want to try it, Ron." Fred appeared in front of him and winked at him.
"No, thank you," Ron muttered. If he went up, he would only fall more miserably. "Don't you have classes?"
"Don't be silly, of course we have classes," Fred said. "Hey, George, be careful."
Harry watched George slide over quickly. He waved his arms desperately. "Oops," he rolled with Fred, and the two of them plunged into the snow. There was snow in their clothes, cuffs, and collars, and even their eyebrows were dyed white. They pointed at each other's funny faces and laughed.
Harry, Ron and Hermione looked at each other, "Let's go, we still have a lot of classes today."
"Wait, Harry!" Fred caught up, his arm on Harry's shoulder, and whispered to him, "Listen, the secret passage is blocked..."
"What?" Harry said in surprise, he didn't react for a moment.
"Secret passage, the secret passage to Hogsmeade, Harry." Fred looked at him meaningfully, and Harry suddenly came to his senses.
He stammered, "The map..."
"It has nothing to do with the map. We wanted to go to Zonko to get some goods yesterday, you know." Fred winked at him, "Dung bombs, fireworks and the like, but the statue of the one-eyed witch on the fourth floor seemed to be dead, and then Filch's cat appeared, and we hurriedly fled."
Harry suddenly realized that it was a chain reaction after Black's attack. The professors were on guard against someone suddenly breaking into the castle. If such a thing really happened, the castle's defenses would fail, and he or Ron would probably be trapped in the dormitory.
"Harry" Ron shouted in the distance.
"Anyway, we can only count on the passage behind the Whomping Willow. George and I are going to explore it. Wait for my good news." Fred left after saying that.
"Don't." Harry stretched out his hand and watched the twins run away. He wanted to tell them that he had been confined to the castle by Dumbledore. Except for classes and occasions with professors, he could not even go to Hagrid's Hut at will.
After noon, the weather finally cleared up. Harry and the other two had lunch, came out of the hall, and breathed in the fresh air.
"By the way, Harry, what did Fred say to you?" Ron asked curiously.
Harry told Ron and Hermione about the matter. Ron was disappointed, "So you can't even go to Hogsmeade wearing an Invisibility Cloak?" And Hermione was obviously relieved.
She said to Ron, "Don't forget, you can't either. Professor McGonagall told you in person that before Black is caught, you and Harry will be treated the same."
Ron's whole face twisted, "I've been trying to forget this."
Harry and Hermione looked at each other. They hadn't told Ron about their guess about the mouse yet. Although Ron had been complaining that Scabbers was useless, Harry knew that Ron still treasured it. He changed the subject and said, "Maybe we can go to the Ancient Magic Practice Classroom on the weekend. I heard it's very popular. We didn't visit it much during the last club assessment."
"Actually, I'd rather try your Firebolt."
Harry's mood became gloomy. "Don't think about it. Wood went to find Professor McGonagall, but it was of no use. We can only wait."
Hermione immediately turned her head away, pretending to be very interested in the scenery in the distance, but she suddenly pointed in the distance, "Oh, my God, look what that is."
They were standing on the uphill side of the open space, and they could catch a glimpse of Hagrid's hut and a corner of the Forbidden Forest below their sight. At this moment, the grumpy Whomping Willow swung its whip-like branches wildly, and two small black dots ran over in a panic.
"It's Fred and George!"
They hurriedly ran towards the Whomping Willow. They fell more than a dozen times because the road was too slippery. When they arrived panting, they found that Professor McGonagall was yelling at the twins angrily.
"I don't know what you are thinking. Haven't you ever learned Herbology? How dare you tease the Whomping Willow... Gryffindor will deduct 50 points, plus a week of detention. At this critical moment, can you be more careful?"
Professor McGonagall's anger had not subsided. She turned her head, "And you, Potter, Weasley, Granger, why are you here? I told you yesterday that you should stay in the castle."
"Professor, we saw that Fred and George were in danger..." Harry said. Professor
McGonagall's frown relaxed a little, "Well, there is a reason for everything. I hope you won't make similar excuses in the future. Come back with me."
The Weasley twins hung their heads and followed Professor McGonagall. When they passed the three people, Fred made an exaggerated mouth gesture to them:
Trap~ Trap~
It was not until the evening that they saw the unlucky twin brothers again.
Fred sat down between Harry and Ron, not depressed at all by being locked up. He said with a beaming face: "You can't imagine what we encountered today."
"A crazy willow spirit?" Ron deliberately said in a speculative tone.
"It's much more interesting than this," Fred's eyes lit up, "George and I were actually very cautious and ready to retreat at any time. We saw an entrance near the roots of the whomping willow, which was very hidden. George found a strange green thing..."
"It should be some kind of branch. It looks familiar, but not much is exposed. I can't recognize it." George said regretfully.
Fred continued, "So we just got a little closer, and the Whomping Willow twisted wildly, looking like a goblin that had eaten herbicide. We quickly ran away, hoping it would calm down. But..."
"We were surrounded, and professors fell from the sky." George said with mixed feelings, "Principal Dumbledore, Professor Happ, and of course, Professor McGonagall."
Harry and the others listened in amazement. This was much more exciting than what they saw.
Ron looked incredulous, "So you are still alive?" He reached out and lifted Fred's arm, but it suddenly dropped down. Fred made a face at Ron.
George finally said, "Principal Dumbledore and Professor Happ took a look and left, leaving Professor McGonagall to clean up the mess, and that was us. I think she must have regretted becoming the head of Gryffindor..."
The twins left quickly. They got some information from Harry, such as the Whomping Willow trap was likely aimed at Black, "Cool~" But they also became serious for a rare time, focusing on the duel competition that had been rumored before the holiday.
"We can take this opportunity to make some money."
Ron stared at the backs of his two brothers and suddenly said, "I know what they want, a store in Diagon Alley, and their family can't help them."
Harry opened his lips, but didn't say anything about borrowing money, because he knew the twins wouldn't accept it.
The door of the common room opened and Neville walked in.
"Have you noticed that Neville is different." Hermione said thoughtfully.
"Really?"
"I can't describe it, maybe more energetic?"
Harry looked at him for a long time, and he judged, "He should be more confident. I had a similar expression after the special training."
"Did Professor Happ say something to him? Only Neville was detained in class today."
