A Hogwarts Professor of Magical Writings Chapter 29: The Thinking Hut

Felix obviously noticed Hermione's gaze.

"Oh, those are indeed books on dark magic, but what's the saying? If you want to defend against dark magic, you must have a certain understanding of it. As far as I know, the Aurors of the Ministry of Magic will specifically teach some dark magic."

"But I rarely see..."

"Some wizards don't use dark magic, but that doesn't mean they don't know how to use it."

Felix smiled gently at her, "I once traveled around the world for a year, and I have to mention that dark magic is indeed more effective in solving certain specific problems."

After hearing Professor Hep's explanation, she thought about it quickly and felt that this reason was barely acceptable, but still said with a straight face: "Professor, I still suggest that you use less dark magic in the future. I read in a book: Dark magic always quietly infects your heart, making you unconsciously corrupted-"

"-Many young wizards have gone astray because of this, especially for underage wizards, dark magic is a poison to the heart that is difficult to reverse." Felix followed Hermione's words.

Seeing the little witch was a little surprised, he blinked, "I have read this book too."

"But thank you for your advice."

Hermione pursed her lips, her demeanor was very much like Professor McGonagall.

Seeing that his assistant was a little angry, Felix changed the subject without leaving a trace. He praised: "I didn't expect you to have read so many books. For your age, it is quite an achievement."

Following the professor's gaze, Hermione realized that the other half of the room - the side closer to her with the small low table as the dividing line - was decorated in a completely different style.

The warm sunlight cast large patches of light, and the light brown carpet and light yellow curtains gave people a very comfortable feeling. In the center was a small round table with two pots of green plants on it.

On the wall opposite was a floor-to-ceiling bookshelf. There were hundreds of neatly arranged books inside. From the top to the second layer, there were seven or eight photo frames, including family photos and photos of Hermione from childhood to adulthood.

Close to the bookshelf was an ivory door.

Hermione covered her mouth in surprise. This half of the space was 70% to 80% similar to her room at home.

She turned her head to look at Professor Heppe, her heart full of doubts. Now only this professor could answer her doubts.

And Professor Heppe really gave the answer, "This is the world of thought, the residence of fantasy, you can call it whatever you want. Of course, none of this is real, we just exist here consciously."

Hermione was amazed. She stood at the junction of the two spaces, staring with wide eyes and looking around. She waved her hand hesitantly, "So, this place is built by us together? Half represents your inner world, and half represents my inner world..."

Felix pointed to his head, "It's just a partial external reflection and projection of our inner world."

"And the deepest secrets in our hearts are all behind the door." He first glanced at the ivory door, and then waved his wand lightly. The dark green curtain behind him rolled up high, revealing a tall door.

Hermione obviously relaxed. She had a lot of secrets that she didn't want to reveal easily.

For example, Harry's Parseltongue.

"Professor, why did we come to this...world of thinking?"

Felix did not answer directly, but first introduced some of his own experiences. "After graduation, I first spent a year traveling around the world, and then settled in London, specializing in Muggle research."

"Muggles are no less intelligent than wizards. In many aspects, such as logic, reasoning, and problem-solving methodology, they are more outstanding. And the more crucial point is inheritance."

"They will pass on knowledge, accumulate from generation to generation, and cause qualitative changes from quantitative changes."

"Wizards also have inheritance, such as Hogwarts, but they are far behind in inheritance and development."

"It was precisely because of this realization that I began to read Muggle books. To be honest, I am used to moving photos, and it is really a bit uncomfortable to read Muggle books."

"Their research on thinking and the brain caught my attention, and I found that they are ahead of us in this regard - and this should be an area where wizards are better at - after all, we have a series of memory magic, such as Oblivion, Legilimency, and Occlumency."

"But unfortunately, we only inherited the spells, not the concepts."

"So, I combined the knowledge of Muggles and created a magic. Although it is still far from my expected idea, it is perfect for our teaching today."

"What is the use of this magic?" Hermione asked curiously.

"Thinking speed up." Felix explained, "Here - I call it the Thinking Hut - your thinking speed will be accelerated, and with the help of this place, we will have the illusion that time has been stretched. I can only increase it by three or four times at present. It will be dangerous if it is higher."

"Similar to this magic is the Bafe Brain Awakening Potion, but the performance of the two is not exactly the same. The latter can enhance the brain power of the user."

Hermione's eyes widened, "Professor, this magic is really amazing."

Felix shook his head, "It is not perfect yet."

Seeing that the professor was unwilling to say more, Hermione began to practice engraving ancient magic runes. She used the chestnut wood chips provided by Felix - this is also one of the drawbacks of this magic. What you can't understand cannot appear here.

For most of the next time, Hermione practiced by herself, and Felix gave some guidance every once in a while.

After seven thinking hours.

Felix noticed that Hermione's face was covered with sweat, and her figure was getting fainter and fainter, looking a bit like a transparent ghost.

"Professor, I can't concentrate, I can't maintain...attention."

"Well, it's almost time, let's stop here for today." Felix snapped his fingers, and the next moment, the world was spinning, and the two people's minds returned to the lounge again.

Felix's wand was still on Hermione's head. He was originally still, but suddenly staggered and almost fell to the ground.

He pressed his forehead with one hand and waved his wand with the other hand, and a bottle of potion flew out of the suitcase.

Under the command of the wand, the potion bottle was quite conscious. Not only did it open the lid by itself, but it also summoned two cups and poured out some of the potion.

On the other side, Hermione was more miserable. She fell directly on the sofa, her face full of pain, as if she would faint in the next second.

"Drink it, it will relieve your symptoms."

Hermione drank the potion reluctantly.

"Have a piece of chocolate." Felix stuffed another piece of chocolate into her hand.

Seven or eight minutes passed before Hermione came to her senses. She kept whispering, "It's terrible, it's terrible."
