"Her name is Winky? Who is her master? What happened to you?"
Hot tears flowed from Dobby's big eyes, and he said tremblingly: "Her name is Winky, we knew each other a long time ago, when I was still a member of the Malfoy family..." He shuddered.
"Go on, Dobby."
"Her master is Mr. Crouch, Mr. Barty Crouch," Dobby said, and Felix frowned. Dobby continued: "I went to Mr. Crouch's house. It was very dark there, but Dobby had been there before and knew the way... Dobby found Winky, and Winky was scared and asked Dobby to leave quickly. Dobby didn't know the reason, because our talking woke up the owner of the house."
"Are you talking about Barty Crouch?"
"Dobby is not sure!" The house-elf said tremblingly: "It was too dark, and there was not even a magic lamp there! They are so out of date!"
Felix almost laughed, but fortunately Dobby got to the point.
"I heard a cold voice saying: Something broke in, it's a dirty house-elf, kill them." Dobby's eyes widened: "Dobby has never heard such a cold voice, never! But the next second, Mr. Crouch came out, and he cursed us, not only me, but also Winky!"
"Cursed evil spells?"
"No, no... dazzling green light, full of the breath of death, it was that spell!"
"Killing curse?" Dobby closed his eyes and nodded continuously, and Felix's eyebrows jumped fiercely.
"What happened next? Did you escape?"
"After that... the spell missed, Dobby used the defensive items given by Mr. Happ to block a very powerful cutting curse, and then Dobby took Winky away, but Winky didn't want to leave, and she wanted to plead with Mr. Crouch... Dobby couldn't leave her alone! Dobby, Dobby knocked her out."
Dobby's slender chest rose and fell, and he said breathlessly. He shivered as he pulled out a dark yellow sock from his pocket, and from the sock he took out a dull amulet, its surface cracked and obviously unusable.
Felix crouched down, stroking the spider-web-like cracks on the amulet, and then pointed at the unconscious house elf.
"Resurrect quickly."
Twinkle's slender neck moved, she blinked hard, opened her big brown eyes, and sat up tremblingly. She looked around with a bit of confusion, and her mind was not clear yet. When she saw Dobby and Felix squatting beside her, her eyes suddenly widened and she screamed loudly,
"Twinkle must go back! Twinkle must leave here!"
Her body suddenly became illusory. Felix raised his finger slightly, and the elf kept flashing as if the signal was bad, but it could not leave this area.
Dobby looked at Felix with awe, and he screamed, "Sparkling, we are safe now."
"No, Sparkling wants to go back to the master!" She struggled desperately.
Dobby shouted, "You no longer have a master, he wants to kill you, think about it!"
Sparkling's slender body froze, and her round nose, as if it was flattened, suddenly sucked in a breath, and said stubbornly, "No, it's not"
"The master needs someone to take care of him, he is very sick!" She cried.
Dobby shouted louder than her, "When he attacked us, there was no sign of illness!"
"Because the master has to take care of Master Barty, the master is very sick, he feels that he has done something wrong and wronged his son..." Sparkling trembled all over, tears rolling down, "Oh, Sparkling shouldn't say that, Sparkling is really a bad elf!"
She screamed and rolled in the mud, and several students coming out of the auditorium in the distance were startled.
"Master?" Felix said softly, thinking, "Is it Barty Crouch II? Wasn't he imprisoned in Azkaban? And as far as I know, he has been dead for many years..."
"Winky!" He stopped the elf who was punishing himself and said in an encouraging voice: "Listen to me, your master is in trouble, and only you can help him," he added, "and your Master Barty, but I need to know the truth."
Winky stared at Felix with big eyes, blankly, and kept muttering: "Master Barty is innocent, he was imprisoned in Azkaban by his master, but he couldn't forgive himself, so he chose to atone..."
Her state was really scary, like a soulless body, repeating these words.
When speaking, a strange light flashed in Winky's pupils.
"What's wrong with Winky?" Dobby rubbed his fingers uneasily, "Mr. Happ, Dobby did hear a cold voice, but didn't see anyone else..."
"She was cast a spell... It doesn't look like the Imperius Curse, I guess it's the Confusion Curse." Felix said.
Dobby was startled. "Confusion spell? Winky was under the Confusion spell?"
Felix put his wand on Winky's chest and whispered, "The spell is lifted." He switched his perspective. In the gray and white picture, strands of red light were steaming from the elf.
He put away his wand. Dobby stared at Winky and asked anxiously, "The spell is lifted? How is Winky?"
Felix breathed a sigh of relief, "Let's see."
Winky seemed to have just woken up. She blinked first and then let out a desperate cry.
"Master Barty, you bad boy!"
Felix had to put his arm around Winky's shoulders because she kept shaking her head, flapping her legs, and screaming sadly. His eyes lit up with silver light, and he said in a deep voice, "Winky, do you have anything to say?" Winky's
eyes were wide open like huge bells, and tears flowed like streams, but she refused to say anything.
Felix had no choice but to let her go.
He ordered, "Dobby, take Winky to rest. She has had a great shock tonight." He pointed at Winky, and her expression quickly softened and she soon fell asleep, but her eyelids were still throbbing restlessly.
Felix condensed complex magic symbols in the air and printed them on Winky's body. "Mr. Hap?"
"She can't leave for the time being. I have blocked her ability to use quasi-magic. Dobby, thank you for taking care of her for a while. Please try to meet her requests."
"Yes, Mr. Hap." Dobby replied. He carried Winky on his back and prepared to leave, his expression very hesitant: "What about you, sir? Do you need Dobby to ask Winky about Mr. Barty Crouch's secrets?"
"No need," Felix said, "I'll go and ask myself..." He said in a very complicated tone, "I just saw a very interesting picture."
"What did you see?"
"A baby," Felix said in admiration.
