A Professor of Magical Writings at Hogwarts Chapter 148: Fantastic Beasts

Not long after, the male unicorn came back. It walked gracefully in front of the three people, lowered its head and put down the empty bucket.

At a close distance, Felix found that its mane was shining, white like pearls, and even the gray Forbidden Forest could not cover the jumping light on its body.

On the high brown slope, a slender unicorn looked at them from a distance, and next to it was a small unicorn with golden fur.

"Look~ Look~" Hagrid couldn't help rubbing his hands and said with an obsessed look: "That's your child, isn't it, Ruby?"

The unicorn named "Rubby" rubbed Hagrid's hand affectionately.

Soon, Ruby jumped up the slope in a few steps and left with his family.

The mottled silver-white light followed their figures until they disappeared completely.

"I'll take you for a walk," Hagrid said, "I don't have anything to do anyway."

He looked at the black hound: "Fang, you go home first."

Fang bared his white fangs and made a "woooo" sound -

"Go, don't worry, I'll be back later." Hagrid stroked its head with his big hand. It was not

until Fang's figure disappeared that Hagrid realized that he was still holding a bucket in his hand.

"I should have asked Fang to take the bucket back." He said annoyed.

Felix tapped it with his wand and transformed it into a silver cane.

Hagrid waved it twice with some excitement - the cane drew a dense silver light, made a "whoosh" whistle, and almost hit Belby's head.

"Be careful, Hagrid!"

"Sorry, I'm a little excited. Is your name Baby?"

"Belby, Damocles Belby."

"Oh, uh, okay, Professor Belby."

In the dense jungle, Hagrid walked in front, and Felix and Belby followed behind him.

They talked as they walked -

"Hagrid, I heard there are werewolves and trolls in the Forbidden Forest...is that true?" Felix asked with interest. He was skeptical about it, at least he had never encountered them when he used the Disillusionment Charm to wander at night during school.

"You're talking about that," Hagrid muttered, "Indeed there are, but they're on the other side of the Forbidden Forest, not next to us."

Belby had a deep understanding of the werewolf group because of making wolfsbane potion. He couldn't help asking, "Why are there werewolves living in the Forbidden Forest?"

Hagrid widened his eyes, stopped and thought for a long time, and finally waved his big hand and said, "Don't ask me, I don't know. Most werewolves live alone, and I know there are some who live with wolves. I think they may be very sad..."

Several people skipped this topic, and Felix asked, "Hagrid, are there any interesting magical creatures in the Forbidden Forest?"

This question hit the mark for Hagrid, and he listed a series of names like they were his own treasures: "Acromantula, Hippogriff, Billywig, Thestral, Three-Headed Dog Fluffy, Tebo Warthog, Bowtruckle, Hinckley Punk, Scorpion Tailed Beast..."

Belby quickly wrote them down. Some of the names sounded dangerous.

"There are quite a few humanoid creatures, too. In addition to centaurs, trolls and werewolves, I remember seeing a group of flower fairies," Hagrid said. "Of course, they just look like humans with wings."

Felix has learned about this kind of creature. Fairies, or flower fairies, are generally 1 to 5 inches long and look very similar to humans - except that they have a pair of insect wings on their backs.

They are generally divided into groups according to the type of wings, some are transparent, and some are colorful.

Unlike the common and wise fairy images in Muggle fairy tales, this kind of creature is generally not very intelligent, likes to quarrel, and cannot speak human language.

But Felix's point is not here -

"Flughorn, the three-headed dog? I seem to have heard this name somewhere."

"Ahem!" Hagrid coughed violently. He explained in a panic: "I must have heard it wrong. Did I mention it to you?"

Felix looked at him with calm eyes. Somehow, Hagrid suddenly felt that his eyes were somewhat similar to Dumbledore's. He scratched his cheek unnaturally: "Okay, I admit that I let Fluffy run free in the Forbidden Forest. It's a three-headed dog I raised. The specific situation is very complicated..."

"Hagrid," Felix said softly, "as far as I know, three-headed dogs are more dangerous than lone trolls."

"Ah, this, that..." Hagrid hesitated for a while, and finally said dejectedly: "What you said makes sense, Felix. So I drove it deep into the Forbidden Forest, farther away from school than here. I go to see it once a month. Poor Fluffy, it's still so young..."

He sniffed sadly, with tears in his eyes.

Felix and Belby remained silent. An adult three-headed dog is at least three or four meters tall. It is a very dangerous magical creature that can fight a giant monster one-on-one without losing.

...

With Hagrid's guidance, Belby completed his goal quickly, and Felix also picked up a lot of miscellaneous materials.

They saw the bumpy and brown-branched Bowtruckles, which were clinging to the wand tree and looking down;

they saw the family of hippogriffs with eagle heads, horse bodies and wings, which perfectly matched their names. Their bright orange eyes were particularly eye-catching; there

were also the Hinkpunks hidden near a body of water, and the blue Billywig worms that occupied an area...

Felix even picked up the big claws of an eight-eyed giant spider on a rugged and winding rocky path.

The sky gradually darkened, and the only light in the Forbidden Forest was disappearing rapidly. The trees seemed to have turned black, and they were ready to return to the castle.

"It's too far to go. We may not be able to make it in time for dinner." Hagrid raised his arm, used his silver cane and his other arm to push aside the dense branches and leaves above his head, and said as he looked at the sky glowing with the rosy clouds.

As he moved, golden light fell down, forming a dazzling halo around the three of them.

Felix squinted his eyes, adapting to the sudden light.

"I have a better idea, Hagrid."

He stretched out his hands, one hand on Belby's shoulder, and the other hand on Hagrid's waist -

"What?" Hagrid asked in some astonishment.

The next second, their bodies twisted and disappeared.

The branches that lost their support bounced back suddenly, and a few leaves fluttered down.

At the edge of the Forbidden Forest, not far from Hagrid's hut, the figures of three people suddenly appeared.

Hagrid looked around the surrounding environment. After seeing his hut, he excitedly shouted: "Is this Apparition? It's so convenient! To be honest, I have never experienced this magic..."

"I heard about it from past wizards in the tavern. They think that those who use portkeys and Apparition to travel are fools-you need to spend at least half a day to get used to the disgusting feeling, but it's not as bad as they say."

Felix shook his head. It was much more laborious to Apparition with Hagrid than for him to do it alone.

After dinner in the hall, Felix returned to the office.

He took out today's harvest from the ring. Some magical plants were piled in the corner. He was going to visit Professor Sprout to ask about transplanting and planting-no need to be carefully raised, as long as they can be maintained until he can use them.

There were also some materials from magical creatures, such as the claws of the giant spider, the feathers of the hippogriff, and the tail sting of the billywig. He was going to try out their magical properties one by one.

Just after eight o'clock, he heard a knock on the door. He opened the door and saw his assistant standing outside.

"Professor, I have some questions to ask you about course selection."
