A Professor of Magical Writings at Hogwarts Chapter 184: Dinner

"Harry! Harry! Are you all right?" Someone was patting his face.

Harry opened his eyes. Everything was back to normal. The train continued to move, and the lights were on. He sat up from his seat, wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, and looked at the scene inside the car blankly.

Ron and Hermione were closest to him, Neville was looking at him with a worried look, and Ginny was curled up in the corner.

Lupin took out a bar of chocolate from his pocket, broke it open and distributed it to everyone.

"This is for you, Harry. In addition, a very good disarming spell."

Harry took a large piece of chocolate, and he suddenly asked: "Did I faint... No, was that woman rescued?"

"Who?" Lupin asked casually.

"When the strange thing with a turban came out, there was a woman. From the sound, she should be an adult. She..." Harry was suddenly speechless. There was only one adult woman on the train, and that was the witch pushing the food cart.

But this was not the voice he heard.

Lupin's hand froze in place. He muttered and left a sentence: "I'll go and talk to the driver. Sorry..." Then he hurried away.

The door slammed shut.

"Harry?" Hermione looked at him worriedly.

He forced himself to calm down, sat back in his seat, took a bite of chocolate, and a warm current spread throughout his body, which made him feel happy again.

"Can anyone tell me what happened just now?" Harry asked.

"We felt cold, as if we fell into an ice hole. Then we saw your spell, a dazzling red light... The cold subsided a little, and then you fell to the ground, and Professor Lupin said to someone: Sirius Black is not hiding here, he raised his wand, and a silver-white light was emitted, and then the cold wave completely subsided, and the train continued to move." Hermione described what she saw.

Harry chewed the chocolate in silence. He didn't really care about these. He just wanted to get some clues about the female voice from other people, but the result disappointed him.

Everyone's expression was not good. Ginny was sobbing quietly, and Neville murmured beside her: "It's terrible, I remembered the worst memory."

"It's like all the happiness has left you." Ron continued, but he punched Harry: "Your spell is great, Harry! We can teach Malfoy a lesson. When I think of him rolling out, I feel happy again."

"It's not my work..." Harry shook his head and cheered up again. "What is that cloaked monster?"

"I guess it's a Dementor. I've seen something similar in comic books. It's like a piece of rag without bones." Ron described.

Harry looked at Hermione. Among the three, Ron was the most familiar with the wizarding world, but his knowledge was very shallow. Although Hermione's knowledge was mostly from books, she could provide more accurate information.

Hermione introduced: "Dementors are guards responsible for guarding Azkaban. They feed on human positive emotions, especially happy emotions. Conventional spells are ineffective against them. The only known useful magic is the Patronus Charm."

"Patronus? Professor Happ's swift and Professor McGonagall's cat?" Harry asked.

"Yes."

"Yes."

Hermione and Ron said respectively. Hermione had seen the swift patronus, Ron had seen the cat patronus, and Harry was familiar with both. No

one spoke next. After more than ten minutes, the train stopped.

But they did not wait for Professor Lupin. "Let's go. He will remember to take the luggage."

The Great Hall.

Hagrid was dressed formally, in a big suit, and his hair and beard were carefully groomed: "How do I look, Felix?"

"...Great."

Hagrid's eyes were filled with tears. He switched the umbrella in his hand to the left, took out a dirty handkerchief from his pocket, and wiped the corners of his eyes. "Great... I've been looking forward to this day."

Not only will he be appointed as a professor of the Care of Magical Creatures class today, but he will also clear his name. Dumbledore submitted a complete chain of evidence, from the monster in the Chamber of Secrets, the murderer, and the testimony of Myrtle herself. The Ministry of Magic had no reason to stop it and had to revoke the ban from fifty years ago.

Hagrid was punished twice for being "the suspected murderer of Myrtle": expulsion and having his wand broken. Some people even suggested sending him to Azkaban, but he was spared because of Dumbledore's mediation.

Now that the ban has been lifted, he can use his wand openly.

Felix looked at the big red umbrella in his hand. "Is your wand hidden here? I've been wanting to say this for a long time. It

's a great idea to hide it." Hagrid raised his hand. "Dumbledore fixed it for me. I've always been cautious, you know... Theoretically, my wand has been broken by the Ministry of Magic."

Felix looked at him with a strange expression. He whispered, "Dumbledore fixed your wand? The broken one?"

"He's really a versatile person, isn't he?" Hagrid said happily.

"Yes, that's right." Felix agreed.

After a while, Hagrid walked out of the hall to greet the freshmen, and the professors were also making final preparations. Professor McGonagall was communicating with a house elf in the kitchen about the dinner.

"It's all ready, professor."

"Very good, thank you for your hard work."

Not long after, the little wizards from the second to seventh grades rushed in all at once. The hall was full of people, and Felix felt as if there were hundreds of baboons clamoring excitedly.

But his eyes fell on a wizard

. He was wearing tattered robes with patches on the corners, suggesting the owner's poverty; he looked exhausted, perhaps just out of trouble; his face was still young, but there were white hairs mixed in his brown hair...

Professor McGonagall walked up to the wizard, welcomed him warmly, and took him to the teacher's seat.

A strong hateful look fell on the wizard, and Felix saw in his peripheral vision that the silver fork in Snape's hand was bent in half.

Professor McGonagall introduced other professors to the wizard, but she deliberately avoided Snape.

Soon, she came to Felix.

"Felix, this is Remus Lupin, who was once my student. He is a very friendly and gentle person. You will get along well." Professor McGonagall said.

Felix and Lupin looked at each other, and there was a trace of inquiry in both of their eyes.

Felix curled his lips and stretched out his hand: "Hello, Professor Lupin, Professor McGonagall mentioned you before. You should be her most outstanding student?"

Lupin also stretched out his hand, "I am just the most inconspicuous one. On the train, I heard a lot of rumors about Professor Hape along the way..."

"I hope it's not some weird talk."

"No, how could it be? I am a little jealous of their praise for you." The

two held hands together until Lupin took the initiative to loosen his hands.

Soon, Hagrid arrived with the first-year students who were like drowned rats. What surprised Felix was that it was not Professor McGonagall who presided over the sorting ceremony. He looked around and didn't see her.

Professor Flitwick held the sorting hat and a roll of parchment, and a small round stool floated behind him.

He passed by the freshmen one by one, and when he waved his wand, the freshmen found that their wet clothes became dry and comfortable, as if they were baked by the midday sun.

"Line up and follow me."

The little wizards came forward one by one in the order of their surnames, waiting to be sorted, but the first thing that greeted them was the song carefully composed by the Sorting Hat. The young freshmen stared at the Sorting Hat singing emotionally.

This may be the most profound impression Hogwarts has left on them so far.

The Sorting began

"Newman Balk."

"Gryffindor!"

"Oliver Dana."

"Hufflepuff!"

"Grantham Foley."

"Ravenclaw!"

"Astoria Greengrass."

"Slytherin!" "

Dennis Creevey."

"Gryffindor!"

...

At the end of the Sorting Ceremony, Felix noticed that Harry and Hermione slipped from the corner to the Gryffindor seat, and Professor McGonagall appeared later.

Then Headmaster Dumbledore stood up to give a speech, and his welcome speech was as concise as ever.

After getting to the point, he seriously explained the existence of Dementors, "They will be stationed at all entrances of the school to perform official duties of the Ministry of Magic. During their stay, no one is allowed to leave the school without permission."

"Dementors do not accept any tricks and deceptions, including invisibility cloaks, and they cannot distinguish between legitimate reasons and excuses, so don't give them the opportunity to hurt you. Prefects and the two student union presidents, you must ensure that no student conflicts with Dementors."

After the young wizards digested this information, Dumbledore happily introduced the two new professors. In his words,

the former was "Professor Lupin, who generously filled the vacancy of the Defense Against the Dark Arts class", and the latter was "Rubeau Hagrid, who, in addition to performing his duties as guard of the Forbidden Forest, also serves as professor of Care of Magical Creatures."

At the same time, Dumbledore expressed sympathy and apologies for the unjust accusation suffered by Hagrid, "We have ignored this for half a century. It's time to correct this mistake."

Hagrid stood up and waved excitedly. A series of red sparks flew out of his red umbrella. The students responded enthusiastically, and the applause in the Gryffindor seats was particularly enthusiastic.

"We should have known this a long time ago!" Ron roared, pounding the table hard, "Who else would let us get a book that bites people?"

After the dinner, the students filed out of the auditorium with heated discussions.
