Chapter 8 Cannot be changed for the time being

She took a deep breath and endured it.

Huh~

I can’t bear it anymore!

Get up and get out of bed immediately.

When she strolled around the kitchen, she found that apart from the only cutting knife on the chopping board, there was no bristle of the scissors.

what to do?

Or, should we just wash it?

Just then, footsteps were heard in the yard. Shu Miao looked back and saw Shu Zili carrying a bundle of firewood and walking to the firewood pile in the corner.

After he put down the firewood with great effort, he wiped the sweat from his face and looked at the person standing at the kitchen door.

Just with this one glance, he froze completely.

Is this girl with green liquid all over her body and face and messy hair really his cousin?

"Gudong~"

After a long while, he swallowed hard.

"Shu Miao?"

"Huh?" Shu Miao gave him a strange look, then squatted in front of the stove and started to make a fire.

She thought to herself, whether she had scissors or not, she was going to have her hair done!

Super loud: If you don’t wash it, it will stink!!!

Shu Zili calmed down after seeing her movements and stopped at the kitchen door.

Well, he admitted that he was indeed worried about getting too close and being smoked. "Are you hungry?"

"Wash your hair." Shu Miao didn't even raise his head. He struck a match unskillfully, then carefully protected the flame and put it into the stove to light the hay.

"Oh, washing your hair? Why didn't you soak it in wood ash beforehand?"

"Wood ash?" Now it was Shu Miao's turn to be dumbfounded. Did she hear it right?

Seeing Shu Miao standing there in a daze, she had completely forgotten to put firewood into the stove. Seeing that the hay was about to burn out, Shu Zili no longer cared about anything else. He quickly took two steps forward, pushed her aside, and skillfully stuffed some thin branches into the stove to stabilize the flames.

His hands kept moving while he kept muttering, "Hey, I forgot you just woke up and don't understand anything. It's okay, I'll teach you slowly. Just ask me if you have any questions."

"As for why the wood ash needs to be soaked before washing, well... I don't know... everyone does it anyway. They're probably afraid it'll be difficult to wash out!"

He paused halfway through his words, then gave an answer that he thought was correct.

"But I heard that the captain's family doesn't use wood ash or soap nuts to wash their hair. Instead, they use a kind of fragrant shampoo powder. It smells so good..."

Listening to his mumbling, Shu Miao was even more confused, so he added a sentence casually,

“What year after the founding of the People’s Republic of China is it now?”

Shu Miao never went to school properly, but he often heard on TV about celebrating the founding of the People's Republic of China and how the country was developing.

Unfortunately, such a prosperous era had nothing to do with her, a child who had never even left the orphanage.

These are all volunteer activities that are held once a month. In order to show it to others, the children are allowed to watch TV for an hour symbolically.

It took Shu Miao a long time to piece it together before he was able to get a glimpse of that prosperous corner.

"I know that!" Shu Zili raised his head, his face full of pride.

"In a week it will be the 21st anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China! The teacher said that as long as I can pass the second-grade skipping exam, I will be the flag-raiser!"

Shu Miao ignored the boy who was dancing excitedly in front of her, but calculated silently in her mind.

70-21=49

So now is... No, no, uh... So what time is it now?

Shu Zili talked to himself for a long time, but didn't see Shu Miao's envious eyes, so he felt bored. Later he realized when did his cousin know so much?

"Eh? How do you know how many years the country was founded?"

Shu Miao was brought back to his senses by his question. He blinked and looked at him, saying nonsense seriously: "Listen to what you say!"

Some doubts arose in her heart. She felt that the brain of the person in front of her seemed a little dull.

"Listen to me? Did I say that?" Shu Zili scratched his head uncertainly.

As he said this, he suddenly exclaimed and immediately picked up a shovel to scrape out the ash from under the stove.

While digging, he urged anxiously, "Oh, I forgot to talk to you, hurry up and get the bucket!"

Seeing that the issue of "founding a country" was so easily exposed, Shu Miao felt amused and relieved at the same time.

At least having such a not-so-bright companion to cover for me is definitely much more convenient!

Shu Miao's mind was full of thoughts, but that didn't stop her from running to get the bucket.

Finally, I took half a bucket of wood ash and soaked it in a large bucket of water.

Shu Zili was not idle at all during this period. He cooked a pot of sweet potatoes and made a loofah soup.

Shu Miao just watched him go up and down the stove, handling everything with ease. Just looking at his proficiency, one could tell that it would take at least three years of practice to achieve that.

After the breakfast was ready, Shu Miao really wanted to applaud and cheer for him. He was so awesome!

With his skillful movements, if anyone dared to complain that he was not smart enough, she would be the first one to be unhappy!

After waving goodbye to Shu Zili who brought him the meal, Shu Miao looked down at the scissors, comb, and mirror in his hands, and was silent for a while...

After preparing myself mentally again, I started to shoot arrows at my "beautiful hair" left and right.

After a few minutes, Shu Miao felt that his arms, which had rested for a night, were beginning to show signs of stopping again.

I forced myself to finish the haircut and looked at my freshly-cut hairstyle in the mirror.

I wanted to trim it again, but my arms were just not working for me, so I gave up the idea.

As for cutting hair, it won’t look good in the first two days, but it will be fine after two days of growth.
