When Tian Tian heard this, she had no idea when Old Lady Tian got up.
"There's no need to make pancakes for us. You have cornmeal pancakes, right? Just pack a few for us to eat. And as for the pork, you can eat it when we leave." Tian Tian said.
The pancakes that Old Mrs. Tian wanted to bake were not cornmeal pancakes, but thinly rolled white flour pancakes.
This year during the Chinese New Year, Grandma Tian did not cook dumplings. She only cut a small piece of meat from the pig and kept the rest for Tian Tian and Tian Yuan.
In fact, it was mainly for Tian Tian to eat, because when Tian Yuan left, Old Mrs. Tian didn't make white flour pancakes or stew meat.
"What are you going to eat? There's only this much flour at home. No one can eat much of it. It's better to take it all away for you two. The same goes for the sauerkraut stewed pork. You can only eat a few bites of it. When you leave, won't we have to eat it all?" said Old Mrs. Tian.
She kept the piece of pork, intending to make a few jars of meat sauce and let Tian Tian take it away to eat at college. However, there was no soybean paste left in the house. All of last year's soybean paste had been used up, and the soybean paste beans for today had not been prepared yet. There was no extra sauce for Tian Tian to stew the meat, so she gave up the idea.
I felt a little regretful that it was winter now and there was nothing at home, even the only vegetables were cabbage and radish. Otherwise, I would have made some pickles for Tian Tian to take home. But the pickles at home had been pickled for the whole winter and were very salty. We could only dry them and fry them in the spring, and Tian Tian would not be able to eat them at all when she took them to school.
Tian Tian couldn't argue with Old Lady Tian, so she helped her to fry the steamed buns. Tian Tian even took a bite while it was hot. It was crispy and delicious. Old Lady Tian clapped her hands. She said that these were for Fa Fa and his men to eat on the road. If they ate them now, they would have nothing to eat on the road.
Not long after, Lin Meiyu and the others also got up. The whole family finished their meal in silence, and Tian Tian was about to pack up and leave.
Lin Meiyu and Chen Guihua all came over to help.
"Sister! When will you come back from school this time?" Tian Mu asked.
Tian Tian said: "Sister will be back in the summer!"
"Summer? My sister has been out for a long time!" Tian Mu said.
"Yes! My sister is going to college and not to the county town to attend high school." Tian Tian said with a smile.
“I want to go to college in the future!”
"Then good luck! Sister is waiting for you in college." Tian Tian said with a smile.
She had no doubt at all whether her two younger brothers could go to college. They were both smart and did well in their studies. When they took the college entrance examination, the competitive pressure would not be as great as that of Tian Tian's class. They would definitely be admitted to college.
Although the teaching quality in their small place is definitely not as good as that in big cities, she will go to school in a big city in the future, so she can definitely get some study materials back for Tian Mu and Tian Zhuo.
No matter how reluctant she was, Tian Tian had to go out. The whole family helped Tian Tian carry her things and accompanied her all the way to find Gu Zhao and Tian Yun. They waited for Tian Tian, Tian Yuan, Gu Zhao and Tian Yun to meet up, and sent them to the work bus. Only then did they go home for their family.
Tian Tian felt more and more upset as she watched the brigade's crossing getting farther and farther away from them. When she could no longer see the brigade's crossing, she couldn't help but burst into tears.
"Okay, we are just going to college. We are not staying away from home. There is no need to cry so sadly." Tian Yun comforted Tian Tian.
Tian Tian wiped her tears and nodded.
She lived alone in her previous life, and whichever city she went to school in was her home.
Tian Tian looks forward to the start of each school year. She can spend time with her friends and no longer have to be alone every day.
So Tian Tian didn't understand why her roommates were always in a bad mood when they came back to school from home. This time it was Tian Tian's turn, and she finally understood them.
Tian Tian had only lived with the Tian family for a few years, but she felt so sad. Not to mention that her roommates were separated from their real relatives, so it was normal for them to feel reluctant.
So even though Tian Tian knew what Tian Yun said made sense, she was just going to college and it wasn't like she would never see him again, but Tian Tian still felt bad. She cried all the way on the bus until she got to the train station, and then she stopped crying.
After Tian Tian got on the train, she no longer had time to feel sad.
There are so many people on this train, it's like being packed in a can of sardines, shoulders rubbing against shoulders, feet touching feet.
Some people even couldn't squeeze onto the train, so they opened the windows and climbed in through the windows.
Tian Tian was holding the train ticket that Gu Zhao had bought with great difficulty, and she even felt that she might not be able to find a seat.
When they finally found seats, they were already occupied. There was some arguing and they even called the flight attendant over and had a lot of arguments before they got those people to move away.
The train ride was not a friendly experience. The train was crowded. There were not as few people as Tian Tian had imagined, and there was a smell of smelly feet, sweat, and clothes that had not been washed for many years.
Tian Tian never gets motion sickness when riding a train, but this time she couldn't stand the smell of those things on the train.
She didn't dare to open her eyes along the way, let alone eat. She just sat in her seat with her eyes closed and rested. Tian Tian didn't even open the package of eggs and pancakes that Old Lady Tian gave her. She finally understood why Tian Yuan had an indescribable expression on his face when Old Lady Tian was packing things for them.
Tian Tian even didn't dare to go to the toilet, because the short distance from their position to the toilet was so crowded that she was afraid that if she left her position, she would be squeezed away to nowhere.
In order to avoid going to the toilet, Tian Tian did not drink a sip of water since she went out in the morning. Fortunately, Tian Tian usually drinks less water, so she did not feel thirsty for more than a day.
Tian Yun got off the train a few stops earlier than them. Tian Tian found that Tian Yun was more adventurous than her. After leaving the house, Tian Yun was sad for a while, but she was fine when she got on the train. She had time to walk around and didn't mind the crowd. When they arrived at the station, Tian Yun didn't say she was reluctant to leave them, nor did she feel panicked when she came to a strange city. She said goodbye to them and got off the train with her luggage, without even looking back at them.
Tian Tian originally wanted to say goodbye to Tian Yun properly and comfort Tian Yun.
It turned out that Tian Yun was very strong and didn't need her comfort at all. Instead, when Tian Tian saw Tian Yun leaving, she felt even more sad and almost cried again.
