Chapter 872 Arriving at My Mother's House

She poured the water into the basin, then took out a towel and wiped her face to wake herself up.

After she wiped her face, Gu Zhao came back with the lunch box. Seeing that Tian Tian was awake, Gu Zhao put the lunch box in front of Tian Tian.

"You just woke up and had dinner quickly. The food is still hot and will get cold soon."

After saying that, Gu Zhao took the water that Tian Tian had just used to wash her face to the toilet and poured it out.

Tian Tian was indeed hungry. She opened the lunch box and saw that half of it was filled with fragrant rice, and the other half was filled with two dishes, one was braised pork, and the other was dried tofu with hot peppers.

Tian Tian was so hungry that she mixed the rice and vegetables and took a big bite. She chewed hard and swallowed hard. When she finally finished swallowing, she looked at Gu Zhao who was also eating and asked, "Is there any egg custard in the car? An An has been sleeping for a long time. She will probably be hungry when she wakes up. She needs to have a bowl of egg custard."

Now An An loves to eat egg cakes. She must have egg cakes with her meals every day. If the egg cakes are made late and she doesn’t see them, she will cry loudly with her mouth open. Tian Tian is very upset because of her crying.

Gu Zhao swallowed the food in his mouth and shook his head. "I just asked, and they said they didn't have egg cake."

After all, we were on the train and the conditions were no better than at home. Besides, egg cakes were fragile and would break easily when you were swaying on the train. Besides, not many people would buy a bowl of egg cake on the train, so it would be better to make scrambled eggs instead. People would eat more of them, so we didn't make them.

"Let's talk to An An about it later. There really is no other way. It's not that mom and dad won't do it for her."

Tian Tian nodded, but she was a little worried in her heart. She was really worried that An An would wake up and drink milk, and would burst into tears when she saw that there was no egg cake.

Thinking of this, Tian Tian quickened her eating speed. She didn't want to have her meal unfinished by the time An An woke up, as she would then be too busy trying to coax An An to have no time to eat.

By the time An An finished eating, her meal had already gone cold. On the train it was not like at home, where if the meal was cold you could just heat it up and still eat it.

Where can you eat your food on this train when it gets cold? The oil has all solidified into white, which makes me lose my appetite.

Fortunately, after the two of them finished their meal, An An woke up. Maybe because she was well slept this time, she didn't cry when she woke up. Instead, she got up by herself, sat up against the train, then rubbed her eyes and looked at Tian Tian. An An stretched out her little hands to hug her, and kept smacking her lips.

Tian Tian saw that An An was hungry, so she poured the water that she had prepared in advance into the bottle to make milk for An An.

An An saw the familiar bottle, then looked down at the small table in front of them, and patted the table in dissatisfaction.

"Ah! Mom! Eggs!" An An shouted loudly and vaguely.

"Mom is making milk powder for you."

Gu Zhao brought An An over and reached out to touch An An's diaper. It was warm and heavy. He filled a basin with water and changed An An's diaper. Then he held An An and patiently said to her, "We are going to grandma's house today. We are on the train now, right? Clank, clank, clank."

Gu Zhao held An An in his arms to see the scenery outside. They were now completely out of the city. Looking out the window, there were only endless fields and, in the distance, furry, endless mountains that looked like they were wearing hats.

"We are on the train, not at home, so we can't have steamed egg cake on the train. Can you bear with it for a while? Wait until evening, Dad will ask grandma to make you an egg cake!" Gu Zhao said gently.

An An leaned on the window to look outside, listened to what Gu Zhao said, thought for a while, and suddenly drew a big circle with his hand. Gu Zhao smiled when he saw it.

"An An wants to eat a big egg cake, right? Daddy will tell grandma when the time comes, and ask her to steam the biggest egg cake for An An."

An An was happy then. He held the bottle that Tian Tian handed to him and drank the milk noisily.

Tian Tian heaved a sigh of relief and gave Gu Zhao a thumbs up, "It has to be the child's father. He has a way. He is amazing."

Gu Zhao didn’t think there was anything wrong at first, but after hearing what Tian Tian said, he felt a little proud and blinked at Tian Tian.

When Gu Zhao took a nap in the afternoon, they were almost home when he woke up.

An An was still sitting on the bed, looking out the window. Tian Tian and Gu Zhao started packing their luggage. After they came up, they didn't really open the luggage. They just took a water cup, two hot water bottles, a small towel, a lunch box, and a basin. It wasn't hard to pack now.

Gu Zhao put all these things into the basin and then stuffed them into the luggage. After the luggage was ready, the family sat down on the bed and leaned on the small table to look at the scenery outside.

Tian Tian looked at the sky outside which had already darkened and said with some worry: "I don't know how my dad and the others will get here. Will they not come?"

Gu Zhao didn't know whether to laugh or cry after hearing this. "How could they not come? You will definitely see them as soon as you get off the car."

Every time Tian Tian came back the previous few times, someone would pick her up.

"I am mainly worried about whether my eldest brother will come. I haven't seen him for many years. I miss him very much."

Tian Tian hugged An An in her arms. It was quite cold through the window. As soon as she got closer to the inside of the train, she could feel the cold wind blowing. She was also worried that An An would get sick if she stayed there for too long.

"Anyway, you can see him when you go home, right?" Gu Zhao said.

Tian Tian lowered her head and held An An's little hand. "We will see grandma, grandpa, and uncle soon. Are you happy, An An?"

An An clapped his hands and screamed at Tian Tian.

"There is another little sister, she is from my uncle's family, Sister Ningning. When An An comes home, you must have fun with the little sister."

When the bus arrived at the station, Tian Tian put on An An's scarf and hat again, wrapping An An tightly so that only two small eyes were exposed.

Then he carried An An and followed Gu Zhao out of the car.

After getting off the train, the family of three stood on the platform looking around.

Tian Lisong and the others were easy to find. Whoever was standing still among the crowd of people walking out was them. They were standing on the side of the road farthest from the railway. Tian Tian saw them at a glance, and she and Gu Zhao went over with the child in their arms.
