Chapter 249: TOXIC SEDUCTION

Freya held her hand to her chest, trying to catch her breath as her knees trembled, and slowly she dropped to the ground. This wasn’t how she had envisioned her first kiss. She had read books about how girls met the one meant for them. They got married, kissed on their wedding day, and then had children.

That was all Freya had ever imagined, to have her first kiss on her wedding day. She wasn’t shaking now because the kiss was bad; she was trembling because it felt so good. The way Rowan’s hands had cupped her breast and what he did to her nipples, thinking about it over again; Freya felt the stickiness between her legs increase. She didn’t know what she was going to do, but in all honesty, it felt good, and Rowan was right. She wanted it but had been living in denial.

Was it love? Freya wasn’t sure. But lust; that would be the word. She craved the release Rowan could give her body. She had seen him with another woman and wanted it. Her whole body wanted him, and that was clear right in front of her. When Rowan was kissing her, she did nothing to push him away.

Freya touched her face, which was now burning with a blush. She clearly hated men like Rowan, men like him who didn’t love just one woman. He was rough, said things as they were, and was so uncouth. He also killed people mercilessly, even though it was for the kingdom, but the look in his eyes always showed that he enjoyed the killing. Rowan was the stark contrast of Freya’s ideal man; he was the kind of man fathers warned their daughters against.

And here she was, running towards the direction of danger. Was she always like this? Freya asked herself. A loose girl who would kiss any random man? Still lost in thought, Freya remembered the roughness of Rowan’s tongue deep inside her mouth as he devoured her lips hungrily.

"You’re in trouble, Freya..." the young woman muttered to herself. This was trouble because she actually wanted Rowan. And now she had until tomorrow night to give him an answer. What was she going to do? Once she took a step, there was no going back. She was going to let Rowan do anything he wanted with her, and she didn’t even know if he actually loved her or just wanted to sleep with her like he did with other women.

And yet here Freya was, thinking of letting him do it. Her mind wasn’t working her body wanted what it wanted. This is the end... Freya sighed, softly hitting her head against the wall.

The rest of the day passed, and Freya refused to step out of her room. Every time she turned, she could only see Rowan shirtless, his hands on her body. It was even scary that it had gotten to a point where Freya could no longer control her thoughts, body, and emotions. So she decided to hide inside; maybe avoiding Rowan was the best thing she could do for herself.

In the evening, Freya was invited to join the royal family for dinner. It was a request she couldn’t decline, and she knew she had to face Rowan. Dressing up, with her body fully covered, Freya stepped out of her room and headed for the dining room. She inhaled deeply when she reached the door, making different expressions as practice in case she saw Rowan.

After a few minutes of getting ready, Freya finally entered the dining room. It was just the princess sitting inside, and she waved happily when she saw Freya.

"Ugh! Freya, I’m glad you’re here." The girl smiled, pushing her chair back to stand up. "I thought I was going to eat all alone."

Freya cleared her throat. Though she was happy Rowan wasn’t there, as it would have been awkward, she also wondered where he was. "What about um... the others?"

Princess Lirien raised her upper lip. "I don’t know about those men... maybe they’ll eat in their rooms," she replied, waving for the maid to come serve her.

Freya nodded. It was for the best; she didn’t need to see Rowan. Especially now that her body felt like it no longer belonged to her. Freya’s sigh of relief was short-lived when the door to the dining room opened.

"Oh, there they are!" The princess clapped. "I thought you wouldn’t be joining us for dinner. Rowan, Freya was really worried about you."

Freya gulped. She knew the princess meant no harm, but it was not really necessary. Her hands squeezed tightly when she felt someone standing behind her.

"Was she now?" Rowan’s voice was almost like a whisper as he now stood behind Freya. "I’m glad she thinks about me even when I’m not around."

The princess, clueless about the situation, chuckled. "Freya is such a good sister. I mean, I wouldn’t even care if my brother was eaten by a wolf." When she said this, the Crown Prince hit her head with his elbow, and the siblings started laughing.

Rowan slipped his hand around Freya’s waist. "We should go eat; don’t stand around."

Freya’s toes curled at this action as her body started burning again with the familiar fire only Rowan ignited, either with his mere words or touch.

"You’re not playing fair," Freya muttered, following Rowan slowly to the table.

Rowan grinned, pulling out a chair, then waited for Freya to sit. He leaned closer. "Never promised you fairness but panting and sweating... I did." 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

Freya bit her lower lip. She didn’t know if it was the way Rowan said certain words that made her want to rip off her undergarments and let him feel her inner thighs. She was new to all of this, yet the feeling was raw, and she couldn’t even control herself.

"Rowan, what are you whispering to your sister that has got her all red?" The Crown Prince asked after his laugh with his sister had died down.

Freya rubbed her face. She had almost forgotten that she was outside and that people were watching.

"I know, right?" Princess Lirien chimed in, smiling mischievously. "Rowan cares so much for Freya; it makes me wonder what he’ll do if a man comes to marry her."

Rowan smiled but didn’t say a word. He pushed his own chair out and sat down, playing with the spoon in front of him. "The man that comes to marry her?"

The princess nodded. "Yes... unless you don’t want Freya getting married?"

"Of course, I do want my beloved to get married," Rowan chuckled. "But any man coming her way must have to get through me first. And that reminds me, she already got a proposal from a perfect man back in Avon."

The Crown Prince and Princess raised their heads, now interested. "She did?"

Freya felt something get stuck in her throat. She turned to look at Rowan. Was he openly going to declare that he asked her to marry him? After convincing the royal family that they were like siblings?

"Freya, you never told me... who is it? This man Rowan thinks is perfect! I can’t wait to meet him," Princess Lirien exclaimed with an excited clap.

Freya rubbed her temples gently. How was she supposed to tell the princess that she already met the man? "The man... um..." Her voice broke at the end when she felt Rowan’s hand on her thigh.

Rowan touched Freya’s thigh, squeezing it gently. "She’s so shy, isn’t she?" He remarked, moving his hand slowly upwards and pushing it between Freya’s thighs. The Crown Prince and Princess failed to noticed this because their attention was now on their food while they listened.

"The man is our kingdom’s greatest warrior, very tall and handsome. But Freya rejected him, and that’s sad."

"Hmm... the man sounds like a good person. I almost thought you were talking about yourself, Rowan," Princess Lirien sighed. "Freya, why did you reject him?"

The Crown Prince nudged his sister. "What do you think? Rowan has probably raised her standards so high, now she can’t even settle."

Rowan nodded in agreement, his hand stopping its movement on Freya’s thigh, giving the girl a moment to breathe. "I hope she gets to accept him one day, right, sister?" When Freya didn’t respond, Rowan used his thumb to poke her core.

"Yes!!" Freya shouted, bringing her legs together. She widened her eyes, looking at the shameless Rowan. What if the princess or Crown Prince caught them? All of this worried Freya.

Princess Lirien smiled. "I guess Freya really loved the man. She was only playing tough. Look at how red her face is at the mere mention of him."

Rowan sucked his thumb, picking up the meat on his plate to eat, with mirth dancing in his eyes. "I bet she can’t resist him now."

Freya gulped. She was the only one who understood what Rowan’s words meant. He was the reason her heart skipped a beat for both wrong and right reasons. Looking at it, there was never a right reason. Rowan was just a danger sign she should have avoided from the start, but it was too late. Freya’s favorite color had become red.
