Chapter 28 Slap Yu Taohong and Zhang Zhenhua
"Ah! Yu Zhile, what are you doing?" Yu Taohong screamed, and her facial features looked even more tense.
She took leave two days in advance to return to the village. As soon as she entered the door, she heard Old Mrs. Yu complaining about Yu Zhile's evil deeds for half an hour.
During this time, she recalled Yu Zhile's attitude towards her in the supply and marketing cooperative, which caused her to be laughed at by her colleagues. She then joined forces with Old Lady Yu, and the mother and daughter cursed at each other to their heart's content.
The two of them rested for a while, and suddenly they heard Yu Zhile's voice coming from the neighboring yard, and they pricked up their ears to pay attention.
When Old Mrs. Yu heard that Yu Zhile had sent chicken soup and chicken, she couldn't help but start to make indirect accusations.
Yu Taohong didn't take seriously what Old Lady Yu said about Yu Zhile being very good at wielding a knife. She just called him out by name and scolded him, at the same time stepping on her half-sister.
The person she hated the most was Yu Peilan. They were all girls of the Yu family, but why was Yu Peilan spoiled by three brothers while her biological brother always snatched her things?
Unexpectedly, Yu Zhile kicked open the door of his house, attracting many people to stop and watch.
"Apologize to my aunt." Yu Zhile looked at her steadily.
No expression could be seen in those dark pupils, but they made Yu Taohong feel annoyed.
Yu Peilan, whom she hated the most, always stared at her like this, making her feel inexplicably ashamed of herself.
"Did I say something wrong? I really don't know how Yu Peilan taught you to be disrespectful and unfilial to your elders." Yu Taohong yelled.
Yu Qi rushed into the yard with his fists clenched, and shouted at her: "Bad woman, don't scold my aunt!"
"Uneducated little bastard!" Yu Taohong got even angrier when she saw Yu Fu licking a piece of candy at the side, and she started to curse.
Yang Suyun rushed out of the crowd like an angry lion.
She grabbed Yu Taohong's hair with one hand and slapped her face twice with the other hand, angrily scolding: "Yu Taohong, have you fallen into a cesspool? Your mouth is so foul, who are you calling a little bastard? I'll beat you to death."
"Yang Suyun! How dare you hit me!" Yu Taohong was stunned and screamed after a while.
She covered her face and ran to Old Lady Yu to complain. Her scalp was burning with pain and the makeup on her face was all smudged.
"Tsk, Hongni loved to go home to complain to her mother when she was a child. Even after she got married, she still cried and came to her mother." Someone sneered.
Suddenly, there was laughter outside the yard.
"Ghost! The bitch in the movie." A child pointed at Yu Taohong and screamed.
Then, some of the children ran away, and Yu Taohong was so angry that her face turned green.
Old Mrs. Yu didn't bother to cause trouble for Yang Suyun. She stood at the gate with her hands on her hips, pointing at the people outside and exposing their faults. She only talked about things that happened on the kang, and used all kinds of dirty words to curse them.
The person who was scolded left in embarrassment, while the others quickly covered their children's ears and stayed away from her.
Afterwards, Old Mrs. Yu slammed the door and acted like a mother-in-law, asking Yang Suyun to apologize to Yu Taohong and pay ten yuan for medical expenses.
After the family split, Yang Suyun was no longer oppressed by Old Lady Yu and her personality became much tougher.
This time, she rolled her eyes and said, "Is Yu Taohong made of gold? I won't give you ten dollars."
Yu Taohong shouted that there was no point in thinking the matter would end like this and she wanted to fight back.
"Apologize to my aunt." Yu Zhile repeated the words, his voice terribly cold.
"Did I say anything wrong?" Yu Taohong snorted, crossed her arms, and looked Yu Zhile up and down. "However, Yu Peilan was born by a mother but not taught by her. It's not surprising that she raised someone like you."
When Old Mrs. Yu saw Yu Zhile’s eyes, her heart trembled.
Last time in the ancestral house, this living devil looked at her like this, and then suddenly threw the kitchen knife at her feet.
"Tao...Taohong, don't...don't say anymore." Old Mrs. Yu's teeth were chattering as she managed to squeeze out a few words with great difficulty.
Yu Taohong said dissatisfiedly: "Mom, you are the elder, why are you afraid of her? I don't believe this little girl can make a scene again."
Wu Caixia quietly pulled Yu Fu away.
With a slap, Yu Zhile's slap landed on Yu Taohong's other cheek, directly knocking her head crooked.
After a while, a crimson palm print appeared.
After just a slap, Old Mrs. Yu breathed a sigh of relief. She was afraid that Yu Zhile would conjure up a knife and put it on Yu Taohong's neck.
She firmly believed that this was something Yu Zhile could do.
Yu Taohong screamed like crazy and wanted to fight back.
"Taohong, what are you doing?" A fat man walked into the yard and his words made Yu Taohong calm down.
Yu Taohong ran to his side, almost crying, "Brother Hua, look at the palm print on my face. I really have a good sister-in-law and a good niece! It's amazing that you still care about them."
"Taohong, I told you to stop being so willful and apologize quickly. We are all family, so what's the big deal about making things so ugly?" The man smiled like Maitreya Buddha and was about to give the thing in his hand to Yang Suyun, "Second sister-in-law, you are a magnanimous person, don't be angry with her."
After that, he apologized to Yu Zhile: "Le Ni, your uncle apologizes on behalf of your aunt, don't take it to heart."
Yang Suyun was frightened by his action and took a big step back. She had never seen Zhang Zhenhua in a good mood.
Zhang Zhenhua is the director of the town's supply and marketing cooperative. From the beginning, he felt that Yu Taohong was marrying above her station, and he never had a good expression on his face every time he went to Yu's house.
"Le Le, Xiao Qi, let's go." Yang Suyun didn't take his things, but took Yu Qi's hand and wanted to walk out.
Yu Zhile glanced at Zhang Zhenhua and walked away.
Zhang Zhenhua looked at the backs of the two people leaving, with the corners of his mouth drooping a little, which made Yu Taohong shrink her body.
"Son-in-law, you've worked hard. Let me carry it for you." Wu Caixia said flatteringly.
Zhang Zhenhua kept smiling: "Third sister-in-law, this is a small gift. You can take it back to nourish the body of third brother and the child."
"Really? Thank you, son-in-law, you are such a nice person." Wu Caixia was flattered and even changed her address to "Zhenhua, you must be thirsty after rushing all the way from town. Sister-in-law will make you a cup of sugar water."
Old Mrs. Yu resumed her usual patriarchal attitude and with a wave of her hand, she snatched everything from Wu Caixia.
Wu Caixia curled her lips and turned around to pour water.
"There's no need to give Third Sister-in-law so many good things. Yu Fu is just an ungrateful guy." Yu Taohong muttered.
Zhang Zhenhua frowned and glanced at her, and she immediately shut up.
After leaving Yu's house, Yang Suyun took Yu Zhile's hand and warmly invited her to her home for dinner.
"Second Aunt, I really ate it." Yu Zhile rarely had such close contact with others, and smiled shyly.
Yang Suyun felt quite regretful, patted her hand, and reminded her: "Go home and be careful."
She stared at Yu Zhile's fair and tender face, not hiding her love for him at all.
After entering the house, Yu Qi said with a smile: "Mom, I like Sister Le too. Please give me another sister."
"Nonsense." Yang Suyun wiped the sweat from his forehead.
Yu Zhile walked for a while and vaguely heard the conversation between his second aunt and Yu Qi, with a faint smile on his face.
Back in the courtyard, only Chen Zhao was sitting next to Yu Yue, flipping through his textbook lazily.
"Brother Zhou has gone back to his room to rest." Chen Zhao blurted out when he saw Yu Zhile looking around.
"I'm not looking for him." Yu Zhile grabbed the glutinous rice vine and paused, "I'm looking for Xiaobao and Papa."
Chen Zhao leaned on Yu Yue's shoulder like a boneless person, trying to hold back his laughter, and whispered, "Sister must still be mad at brother-in-law."
Yu Yue rarely refuted his address and continued reading.
On the other side of the eaves, Yu Zhile picked the tender stems and leaves and soaked them in water, then washed the dirt off the roots and stems and placed them in the sun to dry.
The sun is so hot that it makes people drowsy.
The three of them went into the house to rest. The courtyard was so quiet that only the chirping of cicadas could be heard.
