Chapter 11
"Trouble."
The girl said in a small voice, pulling the strap of her backpack, walked to the sweet soup stall and then sat down at a small table. She had a high ponytail, a green bow ribbon tied under her white doll collar, and a navy blue wool vest on the outside.
Chu Yueqing took a special look at the school badge on the girl's school uniform skirt, "Chongzheng Middle School? Where do you go to school?"
Su Yinyin nodded absentmindedly.
Chu Yueqing didn't expect to meet Chu Yi's schoolmate. She took out a red plastic bag from under the stall, turned around and put it on the table. There was a stack of sticky yellow talisman paper, a rough and frizzy brush, and cinnabar that was dyed red on the edge of the lid of a small medicine bottle. She raised her eyes.
"What talisman do you want to buy?"
Su Yinyin looked at the crudely made scene and became more nervous.
Did she accidentally walk into a black talisman paper factory?
"Will the talismans drawn like this be useful?"
In the past, when I went to Wong Tai Sin Temple with my grandfather, the talisman paper and brushes used by the abbot seemed to be much higher quality.
Chu Yueqing coughed lightly, touched her nose, and felt guilty for some reason. "The appearance is indeed... not so good, but the effectiveness of the talisman is definitely no problem."
"Oh." Although Su Yinyin was skeptical, she did not get up and leave. Thinking of Chu Yueqing's frighteningly accurate fortune-telling just now, she asked again, "Can I have my fortune told before buying the talisman?"
Chu Yueqing had already torn off a yellow talisman and put it on the table. She paused for a moment, opened the medicine bottle and put the cinnabar into the lid, "Buy the talisman, you can't have your fortune told today."
"Why?" Su Yinyin was puzzled.
Chu Yueqing shook her head and did not answer the question.
"I know, you must have already calculated one today, and your energy is exhausted, so you can't calculate anymore." Su Yinyin looked uneasy, and then slowly told the reason why she wanted to buy the talisman.
"Recently, when I go home at night, I always feel that someone is following me, but my good friends say that I am suspicious. Do you know about the female corpse found in Cheung Sha Wan a few days ago?"
Su Yinyin didn't care whether Chu Yueqing answered or not, and quietly told her troubles, as if she had found someone to confide in. She only had grandparents left at home, and she didn't want her family to worry, so she took all the pressure alone.
"The one who died was my good friend. We grew up together and went to the same kindergarten and elementary school. I don't have any brothers or sisters, and she was like my spiritual pillar. We supported each other and agreed to apply to the same university, but she left suddenly."
"I dream about her every night, and she keeps crying to me." Su Yinyin bit her lower lip tightly, tears welling up in her eyes, "She must want to remind me of something, so she keeps coming into my dreams."
"I'm so scared. I always feel like someone wants to harm me like they did to Ah Xiang. I can't sleep well and I'm under a lot of pressure. It's affecting my life. Master, do you think a calming talisman would be more effective in this situation?"
Chu Yueqing listened and dipped the hairy pen tip into the cinnabar liquid. "A calming talisman won't work. Let's use a peace talisman. It's very suitable for you to keep safe when going out."
After a while, Su Yinyin nodded in agreement: "Then let's use a peace talisman."
Chu Yueqing concentrated his energy and pressed the yellow talisman with one hand. The red liquid soaked the talisman paper. From top to bottom, he quickly drew a talisman.
A faint golden light flashed.
She folded the yellow talisman into a triangle and handed it to Su Yinyin, "Avoid water when taking a bath, string it with a red string and wear it around your neck."
After saying that, she looked at the young girl whose face was gradually covered by the black air, and reminded her emphatically, "You must not leave. Come to me tonight and ask me to tell your fortune again."
Su Yinyin didn't understand why. She took the triangular talisman and held it carefully in her palm. In an instant, her poor and uneasy heart seemed to resume its steady beating, and a stream of energy was stuffed into her body.
Su Yinyin exhaled deeply.
"Two hundred yuan, thank you for your patronage."
"Two hundred yuan?" Su Yinyin was stunned. She didn't expect it to be so expensive.
But after taking the talisman, she felt much more at ease.
For this, it's worth it.
Su Yinyin took out all the living expenses for the next week and said thank you politely.
Chu Yueqing collected the money and watched Su Yinyin leave.
The little girl seemed to have taken a reassurance pill after getting the talisman, and left happily, no longer looking timid.
"Xingxi, did you just tell fortunes?"
Chu Yuexi came back to her senses and smiled when she saw Ashanpo, "It's a business of buying talismans."
When Ashanpo heard that Chu Yuexi could draw talismans, she slapped her thighs repeatedly, "An An Hao (just right), my sister has been dreaming about blind dates with ghosts every night recently, you can also draw a picture to calm her down."
Mrs. Li slapped Ashanpo's hand away, "I urged, what do you mean by blind dates with ghosts every night? I told you not to tell others about it, everyone knows, where can I put my face?"
Ashanpo disagreed: "I only promised you not to tell your poker friends, Xingxi is one of us, she wants to help you with your fortune."
Chu Yuexi went to see Mrs. Li and found that she had a dead look on her face, and frowned.
She was obviously a long-lived person, why did she have a face that looked like she was about to die?
Mrs. Li then looked at Chu Yue-ying, "Welcome?"
Chu Yue-ying smiled and replied, "I also want to thank Mrs. Li for the refreshing lean meat soup she sent me the night before."
"You're welcome." Mrs. Li waved her hand without caring, but because she was weak, she put it down after waving it twice and ran out of energy, "Anyway, one person is eating, two people are eating too."
Mrs. Shan was surprised that the two knew each other, but she didn't think it was strange and didn't say anything to stop them when she thought about running into Chu Yue-ying in Yuanzhou Housing Estate that morning.
"Can you show me your hand?"
Mrs. Li obediently stretched out her hand, and didn't ask Chu Yue-ying too much about why she knew Feng Shui, after all, everyone has secrets. Mrs.
Li's skin was very loose, and Chu Yue-ying held her wrist, turned it over, and patted it gently.
In an instant.
A dark red line suddenly appeared on the originally clean hand. It spread from the center of the ulna of the wrist to the upper arm.
Mrs. Li had never noticed a red line on her hand before. She was so shocked that she almost fell to the ground. It was only because of Ashanpo's support that she didn't fall to the ground.
"What is this!"
Chu Yueqing looked at the red line and frowned, "What happened to you recently?"
So, Ashanpo comforted the frightened Hongmei and told her what happened.
"You said that you agreed to a man's proposal in your dream last night?" Chu Yueqing found that things seemed a little difficult.
"The other person is a ghost. If you agree to marry him, you have to die first before you can become a couple in the underworld?"
Mrs. Li's weak face was shy and helpless. "He gave birth to a handsome boy, 20 years younger than me, and he has good physical strength. I had to go on blind dates with ten people in one night, and I couldn't control myself with the last one."
After waking up, she realized what she had agreed to, and she was so scared that she trembled all over.
Mrs. Li went downstairs early in the morning to worship the land god, hoping to drive away the evil spirits.
"Xingxi, is there any way to solve this problem?"
"I need to go to your house first." Chu Yuexi quickly took off her apron and called Lin Jiahua, who was selling milk pie next door, "I want to go to Auntie Li's house, do you have time to help me look after the stall?"
Lin Jiahua bent over to pack milk pie and made an OK gesture, "Go ahead, I'll help you look after the stall."
Auntie Li turned the key to unlock the door, "Come in."
As soon as she entered the door, Chu Yuexi smelled a strong smell of incense. Sure enough, she turned her head and saw the Nanhai Sitting Lotus Guanyin with a red light on in the corner of the hall.
The benevolent Guanyin sat in the shrine. On the top of the shrine was engraved: Buddha's light shines everywhere. On both sides were engraved: Tathagata sitting on a lotus, Guanyin in a bamboo forest. Fresh fruits were offered next to the golden lotus.
Mrs. Li put down the key and immediately lit three incense sticks and bowed three times, "Please, Bodhisattva, protect Ah Rong's safe comings and goings."
Due to the customs in Hong Kong, such a shrine is basically in every household.
Chu Yueqing asked quietly, "Who is Ah Rong?"
Ah Shanpo also replied quietly, "He is Hongmei's adopted son, works in the school cafeteria, believes in science, and hates all kinds of superstitious and weird things. Even this sitting lotus Guanyin was brought back by Aunt Li after Ah Rong had done a lot of ideological work on her for a long time."
Chu Yueqing roughly understood Aunt Li's situation. She didn't look like she had caused trouble, so it was because her house was restless and there was a problem with the yang house.
This was also the reason why she wanted to come.
After listening to this, Ashanpo slapped her thigh and said, "I said it must be a family problem."
Chu Yueqing looked at the dazed Mrs. Li and said, "Where are the rooms? I want to see them all."
Mrs. Li came back to her senses and opened the rooms one by one. "This is Arong's room, and this is my ex-husband's room. Because he snored when he slept, we slept in separate rooms a long time ago. Now I've cleaned it up and prepared to give it to my second son to live in."
"Second son?" Chu Yueqing felt strange.
"He hasn't come yet." Mrs. Li sighed, "He is the illegitimate son of my distant cousin. It's really pitiful that they don't want to raise him and let him fend for himself. Anyway, I have an empty room here, so I might as well take him in and raise him together. Anyway, there is an empty room and it doesn't matter if there is one more person to eat."
Chu Yueqing looked at several rooms in succession and finally came to Mrs. Li's room. As soon as she stepped into the room, a chill hit her in the face.
A Shanpo suddenly cried out, "Oh, why is this place moldy?"
Aunt Li went over to take a look. Sure enough, the corner of the wall was damp, and there were many mold spots on the white wall. "It's really strange. The windows are opened for ventilation every day. Why is there such heavy humidity?"
Chu Yueqing saw the peach blossoms emitting black air outside the iron window at a glance, and turned around to ask, "Who put the flower pot here?"
Aunt Li took a rag and went over to wipe the vase. "Arong, he said that putting flowers by the window will make you feel much better."
The small window surrounded by the iron guardrail faces the intersection of Shek Gap End Street.
Chu Yueqing found the problem: "I know why you have nightmares every night."
"Why?" Aunt Li was surprised.
Chu Yueqing pointed out the window, "The house is located in the official star position, and the intersection is the ghost gate. Wandering ghosts come in and out from here. The high buildings in the village block each other, so there should be no big problem with Feng Shui."
Ah Shanpo asked repeatedly, "Since there is no problem, why does Hongmei have nightmares every night?"
"The problem lies in this pot of peach blossoms." Chu Yueqing saw through the situation of the peach blossom pot at a glance, "The peach blossom position is right next to the window, and the ghost gate is facing the peach blossom position. The owner of the family must have emotional discord. At the least, there will be constant quarrels and family discord. At the worst, the other half will be seriously ill and his life will be in danger."
Mrs. Li shuddered, and she couldn't help but believe it, "Yes, my husband has been ill for many years."
"The peach blossom position is affected by the evil spirit, which at most affects the relationship between the couple. But..." Chu Yueqing paused after speaking, looking at the peach blossom surrounded by the black air, and then at the bell hanging on the top. When the breeze blew, the bell made a crisp sound as it turned.
In just a moment.
Ashanpo shuddered and looked around, "Hongmei, why is this room so cold without the air conditioner?"
Chu Yue shook her head, "You shouldn't put peach blossoms and wind chimes here."
"Peach blossoms facing the ghost door are called ghost peach blossoms. The bells will further boost the luck of peach blossoms. It's like a bright lamp in the dark night. When ghosts walk out of the door, they will see you put up such a bright lamp and think you are holding a blind date party."
"It's obvious that this trap was set up by someone who knows the business. Who wants to harm you?"
Ah Shan Po thought for a moment and glanced at Mrs. Li, "Was it Ah Rong? He put the peach blossom pot. Besides, there are no peach blossoms in Hong Kong now. Why would he put it there for no reason?"
Mrs. Li was shocked and quickly waved her hand to deny it with dark circles under her eyes, "It's impossible. I worked hard to raise Ah Rong. He has no reason to treat me like this. It must be a coincidence. Ah Rong has always believed in science. It must be an unintentional mistake."
After saying that, Mrs. Li still asked carefully, "Hey, it will be fine if the peach blossom pot is moved away?"
Suddenly.
The clock hanging on the wall pointed to twelve o'clock,
and a cold and evil spirit approached.
Mrs. Li's expression suddenly turned into pain. She fell to the ground and rolled over, holding her head. "It hurts so much, it hurts so much!"
Chu Yueling took a step back, her expression changed slightly, and she held the talisman between her fingers in front of her eyes and quickly chanted a spell.
She stretched out her hand and threw it.
The talisman paper quickly turned into red light and flew out of the iron window.
"Break!"
In a split second.
The peach blossoms in the window withered at an extremely fast speed, and the petals fell on the table and turned into black ashes.
