Chapter 467 Killing Xiao Lie

The battle inside the palace was even more brutal than that at the city gate.

Xiao Lie's assassins knew there was no way out and erupted in a final frenzy.

They used the pavilions, towers, rockery and corridors in the mansion to set up layers of defense and fought to the death.

Every step forward comes at the cost of blood.

Xi Sheng's Mo Dao was subject to certain restrictions in this complex environment, but it was still extremely powerful.

He led the team personally, pushing forward along the central axis like a battering ram. All obstacles and people in front of him were smashed by the ruthless Mo Dao.

Zhao Muyun and Yinji also entered the general's mansion under heavy guard.

Looking at the corpses and burning buildings on the ground, and smelling the strong smell of blood and gunpowder, Yinji's face turned pale, but he held the sword tightly and forced himself to watch all this. This was what he had to experience and face.

"Xiao Lie should be in the innermost main hall."

Zhao Muyun's voice was calm, as if he was stating a fact.

The closer we got to the main hall, the fiercer the resistance became.

The last section of the journey was almost a journey on the corpses of soldiers from both sides.

When Zhao Muyun and Yin Ji finally arrived at the courtyard in front of the main hall, it was surrounded by Xi Sheng's Modao Battalion and Wu Shangzhi's light cavalry.

The main hall door was tightly closed, and faint roars of despair could be heard from inside.

"Xiao Lie! Get out here and die!"

Wang Ben stood in the courtyard and roared like a bell.

"Bang!"

The main hall door was suddenly thrown open from the inside! Xiao Lie appeared at the door.

He had lost his helmet somewhere, his gray hair was disheveled, and his gorgeous armor was covered in blood and stains.

Holding a sword full of gaps in his hand, his eyes were cloudy and crazy. He stared at Wang Ben, then turned to Zhao Muyun and Yin Ji.

"Zhao Muyun, you ruined everything for me!"

Xiao Lie growled hoarsely, like a wounded beast.

Yin Ji drew his sword and pointed it at Xiao Lie, his voice trembling: "Xiao Lie! If you had known this would happen, you wouldn't have done it in the first place! If you hadn't coveted power and colluded with the Tartars, how could you have ended up like this?"

Xiao Lie's cloudy eyes focused on Yin Ji. He was stunned for a moment, then burst into crazy laughter:

"Hahaha! Yinji? You little brat! Back in Jinyang, if I hadn't been so merciful, you would have... would have..."

His laughter stopped abruptly, and he suddenly spat out a mouthful of blood. He staggered and used his sword to support himself before steadying himself. His eyes became even more resentful:

"Zhao Muyun! It's all your fault! If you hadn't repeatedly ruined my plans, I wouldn't have ended up like this! Even if I became a ghost, I wouldn't let you go!"

Zhao Muyun looked at him expressionlessly, as if he were looking at a dead person, and said lightly:

"Evil deeds will lead to your own destruction. Xiao Lie, you colluded with foreign invaders and brought chaos to Hedong. You have brought this upon yourself."

"Protect the General!"

In the main hall, the last seven or eight personal soldiers, covered in wounds and with despair in their eyes, rushed out, protecting Xiao Lie and making a final futile struggle.

"Stubborn."

Zhao Muyun raised his hand slightly.

There was no need for him to give orders at all. Xi Sheng snorted coldly and swung his Mo Dao:

"kill!"

Several warriors with Modao swords stepped forward at the same time. With a flash of sword light, the bodyguards fell to the ground like wheat being cut. Their blood dyed the stone steps in front of the main hall red.

In the blink of an eye, Xiao Lie became a real lonely man.

He looked at his last confidant who was killed in an instant, looked at the layers of murderous enemy troops around him, looked at Zhao Muyun's unfathomable eyes that seemed to control everything, and a feeling of complete despair and madness overwhelmed him.

"ah--!"

Xiao Lie howled like a wild beast, raised his sword, and rushed towards Zhao Muyun, who was standing in the front, recklessly: "Even if I die, I will take you with me!"

"Master, be careful!" Yinji shouted instinctively.

Then he shook his head again. Xiao Lie probably didn't know that his master had unfathomable skills.

Xiao Lie actually wanted to attack Zhao Muyun. It was like lighting a light in the toilet. He was courting death!

When Xiao Lie's sword was half an inch away from Zhao Muyun's face, Zhao Muyun suddenly attacked.

He leaned sideways, stepped forward, and twisted his waist, all in one smooth movement, easily avoiding Xiao Lie's sword attack that was coming at him with all his strength and without any strategy!

The sword's tip brushed past his plain clothes, leaving behind a wisp of cloth.

At the same time, Zhao Muyun's fist hit Xiao Lie's chin accurately, swiftly and fiercely!

"Oh!"

Xiao Lie's chin was hit hard, and his teeth collided with each other, making a rattling sound.

Then, the tongue felt sweet and blood came out.

His head was buzzing and he saw stars.

At this moment, he remembered that when Zhao Muyun was still a small soldier in the beacon tower, he killed three Tartars alone.

Zhao Muyun walked out from among the corpses of the Tartars.

Ding ding ding!

Xiao Lie retreated continuously.

Zhao Muyun's punch made him lose his composure.

"Prince, kill him!" Zhao Muyun shouted coldly.

There was no need to keep Xiao Lie alive. Letting Yin Ji kill him would just be a good way for this prince to build up his courage.

"yes!"

Without the slightest hesitation, Yin Ji drew his sword and stabbed it towards Xiao Lie's chest like lightning.

Phew!

Xiao Lie looked in disbelief at the sword that had completely penetrated his heart, then slowly raised his head and looked at the young prince whom he had never truly taken seriously.

The usual gentleness on Yinji's face was gone, leaving only coldness and determination.

“You…you…”

Xiao Lie opened his mouth and large mouthfuls of blood gushed out, staining his gray beard red.

He wanted to say something, but in the end, he couldn't say anything. The madness, resentment, and unwillingness in his eyes were quickly replaced by a dead gray.
