Chapter 6

Chapter 6

Children

The beautiful rockery is full of peach blossoms. In the pavilion under the peach blossom rain, there is a person in flowing white clothes, looking at this side quietly.

One glance is enough to tell that person is different from them. He is a rare talent even for a housekeeper, and the host is even more amazing and beautiful, so beautiful that it is daunting. Just like the courtyard that suddenly appeared in front of them, like a flower in the water and the moon in the mirror, it is so beautiful that it seems unreal.

"Liu Nianyou, the uncle of the Great Yu Kingdom, pays his respects to Mr. Rong."

The man in white at the pavilion bowed in return, "I wonder what it is that has troubled you all to come all the way here to look for me?"

Even the sound was clear and melodious, like drinking a jar of clear water in this scorching desert, soothing it from the ears to the heart and then spreading to every part of the body. The environment was also quite appropriate; the wind was picking up.

"I have heard about your brilliance from my subordinates, and I admire your ability. I invite you to come out and help the great Yu Dynasty prosper." General Guojiu's words were sincere and heartfelt. It does not mean that he can lower himself whenever he meets someone, and communicate in such an approachable way.

But when he saw this person, he dropped his airs, hoping that he would have a better impression of him and get closer to him.

Rong Zhou was bewildered by this. "What's that?" Of course, he didn't ask. It looked like he was visiting a thatched cottage three times to seek advice. He looked at Zhang Yihui, who was grinning with excitement. What on earth had he boasted about? And he was even born?

Rong Zhou felt a headache. It was impossible for him to be born, so there was no world to be born. He paused for a moment, then organized his words: "Thank you for your kindness. People in the mountains and fields are not extraordinary, nor do they have lofty aspirations. Living in peace in a corner is enough." He was exhausted. It took a lot of thought to squeeze out these words. Did he have to say in plain words, "Everything you heard is just bragging, exaggerated by imagination. Besides, the Great Yu you mentioned is in turmoil no matter how you look at it. There is no such thing as a prosperous era."

"Sir, you can bring people back to life with your miraculous hands. Your country is lucky to have such medical skills." The wind was getting stronger and stronger, and yellow sand was blowing in his face. The general had to squint his eyes to see the person standing on the high ground.

"I..." Rong Zhou glanced at the people below and said nothing before entering the court. Okay, he couldn't come up with a story. He was really tired.

Wen Ciqiu's robe rustled in the wind. "Master, please come into the courtyard. A sandstorm is coming. Please take shelter in the courtyard for now."

It was not until the man in white disappeared that they noticed the surrounding environment. They didn't know when the wind started to blow and it was getting stronger and stronger.

The general did not waste any time in giving an order, and the people behind him, leading horses and carrying things, entered the flower-filled yard in front of them in a well-trained manner.

The moment I stepped into the yard, the whistling wind in my ears suddenly disappeared, and the yellow sand that made it impossible to open my eyes also disappeared.

The sound of the wind turned to faint music, and the flying yellow sand turned into a scattering of petals. They dared not move in the courtyard, as if they had strayed into a fairyland, and could only look around.

Zhang Yihui, who had been here for the second time, was a bit more confident than the others. He quietly asked the captain beside him, "Captain, I heard that you've been to the Imperial Garden with the general before. Which is better, here or the Imperial Garden?"

“Ah…? Ah~” The captain reacted like a fool.

Looking at the desert outside the door, the wind is getting stronger and stronger, and the yellow sand is being blown up. I can't see how far away it is, but the years in the courtyard are quiet and peaceful.

"You can rest here tonight. The storm will end at midnight," Wen Ciqiu dutifully arranged. There was a large open space under the peach trees, which could accommodate the 200 or so people.

The general looked at the pavilion on the rockery not far away. No one was inside, and there was no one around. "Can I visit your master?"

"..." Wen Ciqiu was a bit embarrassed. It wasn't that his master couldn't visit him; he didn't see anyone because he had trouble forming sentences. "No matter what the reason, no matter who invites me, my master won't leave." This was meant to tell him not to waste his energy.

"If it's about medical skills, what's your illness? You can tell the master. I think the master would be happy to help if he has the ability."

"Okay." The general nodded to show that he understood, but this way would not achieve the result he wanted. It seemed that he had to find another way.

Wen Chiqiu's arrangement was perfect. He pointed to a hot spring pool that could accommodate four people at a time. Of course, the first person to go there was the general.

Not to mention the generals, if they wanted to take a hot bath, it would definitely be done by their servants. The soldiers under them would at most boil some hot water to wipe their bodies, and most of the time they would solve their hygiene problems in the river.

The people who soak in this hot spring are soft and plump. A group of rough old men, all with rosy faces, come out of it.

When they were thinking about where to find firewood at night to light a fire and heat up the dry food to fill their stomachs, they realized that it was impossible to use such a beautiful peach tree as firewood. Even if the owner agreed, they had no such idea. These blooming trees were too beautiful.

They felt hungrier even faster after taking a shower, and the housekeeper appeared and asked them to carry a table full of food.

This was a dinner that was deeply memorable. The dining table was filled with delicious food in the peach blossom forest. The soldiers, having washed off their tiredness, relaxed and enjoyed the food under the soft music and countless falling petals.

Even though there was no wine at this meal, everyone felt drunk.

————————

In the distance, the sound of people laughing and talking could be heard faintly. On the other side of a river, various leaves of different sizes and cute flowers formed a fairy-tale courtyard. This was where he prepared for his children, with a seesaw, a small swing, a rocking chair, and various dolls.

The person who disappeared from the pavilion was lying on a lounge chair under a big leaf over here.

"The guests have been arranged. Wouldn't the host like to go and take a look?" When someone came before, the host was still very interested.

"No, whether it's their ideas or their way of speaking, they're not from the same world." This made Rong Zhou feel out of place: "You go down and keep an eye on that side. Don't let anything unexpected happen. Let them go tomorrow."

"Yes, Master."

I don’t know how long the butler has been gone. The faint laughter and noise are still going on. His sense of time is much duller now.

"Mr. Rong, nice to meet you."

I was staring at the two soccer balls in my hands in a daze when I was startled by the voice. I looked up and found that it was the general.

He was too lazy to deal with it and continued to lie on the recliner: "You are so persistent. I am not interested in anything you say. We are only staying here temporarily and may leave this world at any time. You don't have to focus your energy on us."

Rong Zhou's words made the general classify him as an immortal.

"I have come a long way to ask you for help for the child I raise." His words really caught Rong Zhou's attention.

As he walked down the hallway and saw the toys prepared for the child, an idea occurred to him. There were so many toys, but only the master and servant lived here. He couldn't help but wonder if something had happened to his child. Then, starting with the child might be a breakthrough.

Without waiting for the man to reply, the general continued, "My sister and brother-in-law passed away early. They entrusted their three-year-old child to me, but the child is weak and basically drinks medicine instead of food. He drinks too much medicine and eats less. The 10-year-old child is thinner than his peers."

Rong Zhou understood this point well and couldn't help but nod. His eldest child was in good health and rarely got sick until she was three years old. She was a tough little princess. The second child wasn't so good. She weighed just 5.2 pounds when she was born, and her feet were only slightly larger than his thumb.

During the birth checkup, it was revealed that he was suffering from brain hypoxia. He was given intravenous drips on the second day after birth, which lasted for 10 days, and then for three months in a row. This was very stressful for him and his wife.

Later, he was sick all the time, and he and his wife's attention was all on the second child. Once, they only paid attention to the sick second child, and didn't know when the eldest child also had a fever. When they found out, it was already a high fever. That time was really memorable. After the eldest and second children were hospitalized and their conditions stabilized, his wife lay in his arms and cried uncontrollably. In fact, he also wanted to cry, but he couldn't.

The general's words brought Rong Zhou back to his memories. Looking at the soul balls of the two children in his hands, his eyes couldn't help but turn red, but no tears came out.

The person the general saw seemed to have tears in the corners of his eyes. It seemed that children were the immortal's weak spot.

"I heard from the deputy captain that you are an excellent doctor. I just want to ask you to protect him and raise him safely." The general pretended not to see the red eyes. "I don't have any children of my own. I have devoted all my energy to my nephew, teaching him to read and write, and helping him handle state affairs. I only hope that he will one day become a wise ruler, ensure that the people have food to eat and clothes to wear, and create a prosperous era for Dayu."

The first few sentences touched Rong Zhou's heart, and the last few sentences, about a wise ruler and a prosperous era, really woke him up. Just kidding, is it because I haven't taken enough history classes or haven't watched historical dramas? Everyone can say empty words.

Rong Zhou stood up and rubbed his eyes, then returned to his calm demeanor: "It's serious. I won't owe a country a debt."

What was the general going to say? Rong Zhou quickly interrupted, "My medical skills are only passable. They're different from regular medical skills. But considering your concern for your child, I'll give you this bell. If you come to me with it, you can heal one person. The bell will guide you. If the bell disappears, you don't need to come back. I won't be in this world then."

Rong Zhou finished what he wanted to say, then immediately stood up and walked into the house without looking back.

The general wants to chase.

"General, please don't force it. Some things can't be forced." Butler Wen Ciqiu stood in front of him and said, "This way, please. A place to rest for you tonight has been prepared. Please follow me."

The general, lying in bed, tinkled a bell in his hand. His mind was in turmoil, and he considered forcing it. Then he denied it.

He only glimpsed a small part of Mr. Rong's extraordinary qualities. This courtyard and its owner were both so magical, and the servant was also a master. He didn't even notice when the person approached him. Whether his 200 men could capture him was another matter, and he couldn't bear to be disgusted by that cold and indifferent person.

They were just unwilling, and this unwillingness reached its peak when they were sent out of the yard the next day, and the man still stood in the pavilion and bowed to them as they left.

The evil in his heart had not yet been released. The housekeeper in front of him, the yard behind him, and the man in white in the pavilion in the yard were blown away by the wind in the eyes of 200 people.
