Chapter 129 Scarlet Abyss (Part 2)

A conversation on the battlefield in District 5 at an unknown time.

"The plan has already begun. Will he become one of us?"

"This is an experiment, but also a trap. It depends on whether they are willing to accept this change. Will they evolve or be devoured?"

"Hahahaha! It's really exciting."

"It's just that the flow of time is a little different, but for us, it should be very fast."

It was the 34th day after the battle, based on what Selina said, but it felt like the memory was stuck on the period before and after the battle on the fourth day, and the memories in between seemed to have disappeared due to the injury.

What is going on here? Traumatic?

--------"commander......"

The voice in my head kept echoing in my ears, hitting my eardrum and brain back and forth. I covered my face with sweat and suddenly woke up. My body felt exhausted and I sat on the bed.

Selina had been sitting on the stool next to me, looking at me quietly: "Good morning, Commander, how are you feeling?"

Selina took out a handkerchief and wiped my sweat. I suddenly held Selina's hand and asked in panic, "Who are you?"

Selina was a little confused when she heard what I said: "I'm Selina? What's wrong, Commander?"

I continued to ask, "What's my real name?"

Selina: "Xx? What's wrong? Commander, did you forget your name?"

Me: “How many people have I done this with?”

Selina was confused: "Huh? What do you mean?"

Me: “Where are we now?”

Selina thought for a moment and replied, "What happened at the pre-war headquarters in Area 1? Commander, you look so strange today."

Me: "Nothing, I'm just a little confused. Where are Vanessa and the others?"

Selina: "They should be back this afternoon, Commander, don't worry."

I put on my clothes, turned around and got out of bed. I walked outside and just as I opened the tent, I ran into Ella who was eavesdropping. "What are you doing here?"

Ayla: "Hey hey hey! Good morning, Commander."

Ella stood in front of me with a smile on her face. She was wearing a white and black outfit, with black stockings covering her slightly fleshy legs. The big weapon on her chest was still surging.

At this moment, I had no interest in anyone and just waved my hand expressionlessly: "Good morning."

Then he walked past Ella as if nothing had happened. Ella clasped her hands in front of her chest, looking unhappy: "Oh! Don't ignore me!"

I felt very depressed and didn't want to pay much attention to Ella: "Sorry, I'm not in a good mood. Can you please stop disturbing me?"

Ella looked at my disheartened expression and put her hands on her hips in defiance. "Hmph! Who wants to bother you? Go wherever you want. Who do you think you are?"

Me: “Thank you!”

Ella simply couldn't understand my behavior: "You... hum! That's too much!"

There were only a few scattered people in the camp, and everyone seemed to turn their backs when they saw me, as if they didn't want me to see their faces. I don't know if it was a coincidence or intentional. It looked normal but sometimes felt very weird.

I pressed my temples as I walked out of the temporary command center. I found a seat at the door and sat down on a wooden board, watching the slowly rising sun illuminating the city in front of me that had become ruins.

Is this the city of Cleville? Why does it look so clean in the sunlight? I think there was a battle not long ago. There should still be red, lichen-like creatures on it! Why does it feel like it's been washed? It's just the appearance that's been destroyed.

I didn't think too much about it afterwards. To be honest, I was still a little worried about what Vanessa's command would be like. Hans, I don't know this person either, but he seems to be a decisive and ruthless person. Should Liv and the others be safe?

I was thinking like an old woman, my body slowly falling on the wooden board, looking at the blue sky. It felt like I had just woken up, and this world seemed incompatible with me, because no matter what I looked at, it felt very strange, but I would soon adapt.

————————"That's right, Commander!..."

"That's right! Why are we fighting?"

I sat up suddenly and began to think about the beginning of this war. Why did we have to fight? I scratched my head and realized that I had forgotten why we started this war.

Why did the Hanging Gardens take over the entire Middle East, including Clivia and Voslin? It should have been difficult, right? This war was clearly a joke, yet it was progressing smoothly.

I just sat there quietly, feeling time passing by quickly, and soon it was afternoon. Selina and Ella, you didn't come out to see me, but I didn't feel hungry. I had only eaten two meals from yesterday until I woke up. Did I eat too much?

Just when I was still in a daze, a loud noise suddenly came from the distance. I didn't realize the source of the noise and was still in a daze.

It wasn't until a large number of soldiers and transport vehicles drove past me that I realized that Lucia and the others had returned and hadn't noticed that General Hans had just walked past me.

These soldiers looked pretty energetic, and it felt like they were not going to a war but just to have fun. Their clothes were just a little dirty, and they looked very relaxed.

Suddenly, a girl with twintails rushed out from the crowd and rushed towards me. "Commander! You're finally awake."
